Foreign AffairsIran Executes Three Protesters Including Young Wrestler by Jangbajantis(op): 5:15pm On Mar 19
IRAN EXECUTES THREE PROTESTORS: Three demonstrators were killed on Thursday, March 19, in Iran after being accused of murdering two police officers in nationwide protests in previous months of this year, the judiciary-linked Mizan news agency announced.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s judiciary on Thursday ignored a U.S. State Department warning along with pleas from elite Iranian-American wrestlers to not execute 19-year-old champion wrestler Saleh Mohammadi for protesting against the Khamenei regime.

Reports say Mohammadi was killed in a public hanging seen as a barbaric move by the Iranian regime to snuff out the ongoing movement seeking to topple it, according to Iranian-American human rights activists and dissidents.

Nima Far, a human rights activist and Iranian combat athlete who an expert on elite Iranian wrestling, told Fox News Digital, "His execution was a blatant political murder, part of the Islamic Republic’s pattern of targeting athletes to crush dissent and terrorize society, as seen with Navid Afkari and others executed despite international outcry."

Al-Qard Al-Hassan, a quasi-banking institution that offers interest-free loans to people, is one of the many charity organisations run by Hezbollah, including schools, hospitals and low-price grocery stores.

Israel has been targeting the institution, as it claims it is trying to destroy Hezbollah and its capacity to operate as an organisation in renewed attacks across Lebanon amid the wider regional war.

Qatar condemns Israeli targeting of natural gas facilities linked to Iran’s South Pars field

Earlier, we reported that Iran’s natural gas facilities associated with the offshore South Pars field have been attacked, according to Iranian state media.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari says “the Israeli targeting of facilities linked to Iran’s South Pars field, an extension of Qatar’s North Field, is a dangerous and irresponsible step amid the current military escalation in the region”.

“Targeting energy infrastructure constitutes a threat to global energy security, as well as to the peoples of the region and its environment,” he warned.

“We reiterate, as we have repeatedly emphasized, the necessity of avoiding the targeting of vital facilities. We call on all parties to exercise restraint, adhere to international law, and work toward de-escalation in a manner that preserves the security and stability of the region,” al-Ansari concluded.

The agency showed members of the team being welcomed by officials and members of the public at the Turkiye-Iran Bazargan ‌border, as they returned home from a tournament in Australia.

The team has been at the centre of controversy after refusing to sing the Iranian national anthem at a match in Australia, which led to them being branded “traitors” by an IRIB presenter.

Six players and one member of the support staff then took up an offer of asylum in Australia, citing safety concerns if they returned to Iran, before five changed their minds and left the country to return home.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said earlier today that returning members of the team would be embraced by the public.

We’ve just heard from the Israel’s Defence Minister Katz claiming the assassination of Iran’s intelligence minister last night.

Israeli military analysts say Khatib was close to the new supreme leader. According to Israeli sources, they said they have been gathering intelligence that allowed them in the past 24 hours to declare the deaths of three senior Iranian officials.

Katz has said to expect surprises, saying this war will continue on both fronts – the one targeting Iran and the other targeting Hezbollah.

This is seen as another success from the Israeli perspective in targeting the Iranian leadership.

Israeli defence minister says Iranian intelligence minister killed
Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz claims that Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib was killed in an overnight Israeli attack.

Foreign AffairsIsrael Kills Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib by Jangbajantis(op): 11:23am On Mar 18
Iran's intelligence minister, Esmaeil Khatib, has been killed, according to the Israeli defence minister.

Khatib was "eliminated" in a strike overnight, Katz said.

There has been no confirmation from Iran regarding Khatib's reported death.

Katz said ‌he and Prime ‌Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have authorised the military to kill any other senior Iranian official being targeted without the need for additional approval.

His reported death comes after Tehran confirmed the killings of the country's powerful national security chief, Ali Larijani, and the head of the IRGC's Basij paramilitary force.

Khatib was among the officials that the US was seeking information on last week, offering a reward of up to $10m.

The reward targeted 10 officials associated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and also security chief Ali Larijani, who was killed on Monday, and the new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

Israeli army admits its tank fired on UN position in southern Lebanon

The Israeli army has admitted that one of its tanks fired on a UN position in southern Lebanon earlier this month, wounding three Ghanaian peacekeepers.

In a statement to the Reuters news agency, Israel’s army acknowledged its troops were behind the incident on March 6 in which shells were fired on UNIFIL personnel at the al-Qawzah base, and said it had apologised to Ghana and the United Nations.

It said the Israeli forces had been responding to antitank missile fire from Hezbollah, which had moderately wounded two of their soldiers, and mistakenly fired at UNIFIL troops instead.

“The IDF [Israeli army] regrets the incident and has conveyed its apologies through the appropriate channels to Ghana and the United Nations. The findings of the investigations have been disseminated within the IDF to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.”
