Iran ready to help investigate civilian strikes, welcomes initiatives to end war Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi insists that Iran has not targeted civilian or residential areas in the Middle East, adding that Tehran is ready to form a committee with its neighbours to investigate who is responsibile for such strikes. More than 150 health facilities in Iran damaged: Report At least 153 health facilities have been damaged across Iran by US-Israel strikes, according to the Tasnim news agency. “Investigations show that …153 health units in the country’s health network were damaged, of which 56 comprehensive health service centres accounted for the largest number,” the report said. Medical universities were also affected. “Kermanshah University has suffered the most damage with 42 damaged units, followed by Isfahan with 19 units,” it said. Iran arrests 20 people accused of being informants to Israel Twenty people have been arrested in northwestern Iran for attempting to cooperate with Israel, according to a Tasnim news agency report citing a statement by the prosecutor’s office in the West Azerbaijan province. They are accused of sending location details on Iran’s military and security assets to Israel. “Several networks of mercenaries associated with the hands of the Zionist regime who were cooperating, including sending details of military, law enforcement and security locations to the Zionist enemy, were hit, and 20 individuals were arrested and detained by issuing a judicial order,” the prosecutor’s statement read. Israel has launched a new phase of its assault on Iran, targeting security checkpoints based on tip-offs from informants on the ground, the Reuters news agency reported last week. |

Isfahan is among the country’s most populous cities and is home to numerous industrial and military complexes. As with other cities across the country, factories and infrastructure there are being targeted in the attacks. Dozens of people have reportedly been killed there. While Isfahan plays a critically important industrial and military role in Iran, the bigger picture is that residential areas are also being targeted, with some of them partially or fully destroyed. |

Iran says Strait of Hormuz still open but under its control Alireza Tangsiri, navy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, says Iran has not yet closed the Strait of Hormuz and the vital waterway is “only being controlled”. Tangsiri accused the United States of spreading false claims about destroying Iranian vessels and escorting oil tankers. “The Americans falsely claimed to have destroyed our ships and escorted oil tankers, and now they are asking for support from others,” said Tangsiri in a post on X.

WHO confirms 12 health workers killed in strike on Lebanon health centre The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) says a total of 14 health workers have been killed in attacks in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the agency had confirmed that 12 doctors, paramedics and nurses were killed in a strike on the Bourj Qalaouiyeh primary healthcare centre late on Friday. |

Israel says it carried out 400 strike flights on Iran The Israeli military says it conducted about 400 air raids on western and central Iran since the start of its current campaign, targeting what it claimed was Iranian “military infrastructure”. In a statement, it said more than 200 sites were attacked in the past 24 hours alone. The strikes targeted ballistic missile launchers, some of which it claimed were prepared to be fired towards Israel, as well as air defence systems and weapons storage facilities. ‘Israel dragging region into instability and new genocide in Lebanon’: Turkiye Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan says the United States and Iran must return to negotiations to prevent the war from escalating further. Speaking in Ankara, Fidan warned the conflict risks spreading across the Middle East. “The war must end as soon as possible.
