IRGC condemns attack on house of Kurdish region’s president Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has condemned an attack on the house of the president of the country’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region. The IRGC said the attack “is an example of a terrorist attack by the aggressor’s enemies”, citing the US-Israel strikes that have killed nearly 2,000 people across Iran, including several senior Iranian officials, said the group’s spokesperson in a message relayed by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency. “These terrorist attacks indicate the malicious efforts of the war-mongering enemies to harm the peace, stability and regional cooperation between the Kurdistan region and the neighbouring countries.” The IRGC said it “condemned this terrorist aggression and declares its readiness to support and defend the security of its neighbours by strengthening security cooperation and creating a collective defence shield in the region.” |

Some 2,500 Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit arrived in the Middle East on Friday, U.S. military officials said. The Marines, accompanied by 2,500 American sailors, are part of the U.S.S. Tripoli amphibious ready group. Usually based in Okinawa, Japan, they are supposed to be part of President Trump’s effort to open the Strait of Hormuz — largely closed because of attacks by Iranian forces. |

Iran’s digital blackout hits 672 hours The internet blockade – imposed by Iranian authorities across the country after the US-Israeli attacks began – has extended for an entire month, monitoring group NetBlocks says. “Exactly one month ago on Saturday morning, 28 February, Iran was plunged into digital darkness as authorities cut off access to the global internet. After four full weeks, 672 hours, the blackout remains in effect, violating Iranians’ right to communicate and stay informed,” it added. Iran says over 93,000 civilian sites damaged in ongoing air strikes Iran’s Red Crescent Society says Israeli-US air strikes have damaged more than 93,000 civilian properties as the war enters its fifth week. Of those, 71,547 were homes in multiple provinces, alongside 20,779 commercial sites. In Tehran alone, 31,562 residential and commercial units have been damaged. The strikes also hit essential services. Authorities recorded damage to 295 health and emergency facilities and 600 schools. Officials said 48 operational emergency vehicles and 46 ambulances were damaged, along with three rescue helicopters operated by the Red Crescent and emergency services. |

Senior Iran parliament member urges caution amid reported talks with US Iranian officials “need to think wisely” before entering into any talks with the US, a senior Iranian parliament member warned, citing Washington’s recent history of launching attacks on Tehran while talks to achieve peace were in progress. “This is not the first time they have lied about negotiations,” Esmaeil Kowsari, a member of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee, was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency. “Trump, Netanyahu, and their ilk are inherently liars, and their nature is to sow division,” Kowsari said. “Their nature is to create division so that they can make people sceptical of the authorities and feel that something has been done, when nothing has been done,” said Kowsari, who is also a major-general in the military. |

Israel Iran War News: Israel hits Litani River crossing used by Hezbollah, military says Israel struck a bridge linking southern Lebanon to the rest of the country a day after announcing that its military would destroy all crossings over the Litani River. The Israeli military said the bridge had been used by Hezbollah fighters to move between northern and southern Lebanon and to transport weapons, rockets and launchers. According to the Israel Defense Forces, the crossing was also used to support attacks launched from southern Lebanon against Israeli soldiers and civilians. |
Israel says it has struck IRGC headquarters, other military infrastructure in Tehran By Dana Karni and Catherine Nicholls The Israeli military has said that it struck one of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ main headquarters today, alongside several other military buildings in the capital city of Tehran. The Israeli Air Force carried out “a wide-scale wave of strikes on Iranian regime infrastructure,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement. Earlier today, Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency said that several locations across Tehran were targeted in Israeli strikes. Meanwhile, the Iranian Red Crescent Society said it was “searching beneath the debris of a residential building in Tehran to find a child.” The IDF said that Iranian security organization headquarters and “key weapons manufacturing sites” were among the facilities targeted, as well as “additional manufacturing sites and research facilities related to electronics, ballistic missiles, and warheads.” In a separate statement about the IRGC headquarters it said it struck, the IDF said that the facility was used by the Iranian military “to synchronize unit activities and to conduct situational assessments,” as well as direct the Basij paramilitary force. “The strike on the headquarters is part of the current operational phase aimed at further degrading core Iranian terror regime systems and security capabilities,” the IDF said, adding that “steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence.” |
