Iran’s armed forces say US blockade on Gulf ports is ‘illegal’ act amounting to piracy The unified command of the Iranian armed forces said ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are “either for everyone or for no one”, state broadcaster IRIB reported. “The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran consider defending the legal rights of our country a natural and legal duty, and accordingly, exercising the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the territorial waters of our country is the natural right of the Iranian nation,” IRIB cited Iran’s forces as stating. “Enemy-affiliated vessels” will not have the right to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, while other vessels will be allowed passage, subject to regulations by Tehran, said the statement. “The criminal US’s imposition of restrictions on the movement of vessels in international waters is an illegal act and amounts to piracy”. If the security of the ports is threatened, no port in the region “will be safe,” the statement said. |

Israeli forces unleash air strikes, artillery and phosphorus shells in south Lebanon We have more on Israel’s air attacks on southern Lebanon. The National News Agency (NNA) reported that five people have been killed in the towns of Bazouriyeh, Nabatiyeh El Faouqa, Sir El Gharbiyeh and Choukine. NNA also report more attacks on Bint Jbeil, a town that has been under sustained assault, as well as on the towns of Majdal Zoun and Bayt al-Sayyad in Tyre district. The agency said there’s been heavy artillery fire in the towns of Al-Haniyah, Al-Qalilah, Al-Mansouri and Beit Al-Sayyad. Artillery and phosphorus shells have been fired at Zibqin, in Tyre district. Warplanes have attacked the town of Siddiqin in the same district, NNA added. |

Breaking! Israeli attacks kill 5 people in south Lebanon Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) is reporting that one of the victims was killed in a series of Israeli raids on the town of Bazouriyeh. At least nine people were wounded, and several homes and a school building were severely damaged. Two people were killed in Nabatiyeh El Faouqa and Sir El Gharbiyeh, while two others were killed in the town of Choukine, NNA reported. We’ll bring you more when we have it. |

Debris from drone damages factory in Israel The Channel 12 broadcaster is reporting that debris from the interception of a drone has damaged warehouses belonging to the Shaniv Sasatech group in Dalton Industrial Park. US-Israeli attacks on Tehran damaged 77 historical monuments Sajjad Asghari, secretary of the Committee for the Follow-up of the Protection of Historical Monuments in Tehran, has given an update on damage to the capital’s monuments as a result of US-Israeli strikes on Iran. According to the IRNA news agency, Asghari detailed the damage as follows: 77 historical buildings, palaces and museums in Tehran were damaged 90 percent of the damage is minor, 10 percent serious 38 of the damaged sites are nationally registered monuments; the remainder are buildings of architectural and cultural value 27 of the damaged monuments date back to the Qajar era Damaged buildings include Farrokhabad Palace, Ishratabad Palace, Kahak Mill, Qasr Prison, the Stone Gate of the Marble Palace, Ahmad Reza Pahlavi Palace and the Rafi Nia Synagogue House |
