MufasaLion: I wouldn't advise you to go for an undergraduate with that money because it's nowhere near the amount needed for it. Considering the fact you wanna study either Physio or IT. Both courses are expensive especially Physiotherapy which is medically inclined.
However, I still wouldn't deny the fact that those courses are 'hot cake' in the labour market most especially in those countries highlighted by you. If you had gotten a BSc. degree before it would have made your transition to any country easier especially the UK that has 2-year post study visa.
I would advise you to probably go to a school in Nigeria probably a private University in order not to be affected by the forseen unforseen circumstances such as ASUU strike e.t.c. That's if you're in a hurry. Mind you, there's no age limit to knowledge.. Also you can go to a School of nurse in Nigeria which is like 3 years and afterwards you get your RN (Registered Nurse). Your transition to the UK should definitely be easier with this Nurse route.

Slynation: One of the objectives of a good political leader is to protect lives and properties, and this two are clearing missing in El rufai's administration, I wonder who he's building the roads and other infrastructures for if they end up killing everybody, how many people can safely drive on that road with been kidnapped or murdered?? Life first and every other thing can be achieved.... Therefore, this man has failed woefully as a governor.... You're right though!! I just feel the security architecture of the country presently renders some of these gov handicapped. I'm not defending el rufai oo, I'm just saying how will major security control switches be at the federal level , the state gov can't really do much. From what I know, there's kadvs and JTF presently in Kaduna , both created by el rufai admin just to increase safety in the state but with less funding , they can't do much. See, the point is, there's more to this killings and kidnapping than we actually know. |
Politics › Re: Hadiza, El-Rufai's Wife: This Is What Kaduna Stress Has Done To My Husband by jansonn(m): 7:28am On Jan 10, 2021 |
But seriously, I speak based on my experience!! I live in Kaduna state and I'm neither a northerner or muslim, it's important to state that el rufai is one of the best gov in Nigeria based on infrastructural developments!! Most of you might say he's a fanatic and a bigot but this man doesn't care about anyone whether Hausa or Christian, presently he has demolished over 5 major markets in the state from which his people (Hausa) majorly feed from. One of the woes of his gov is this banditry and kidnapping, that has single handedly destroyed every other thing he has done for this state. Also, el rufai is sturborn, he doesn't listen to anyone, I'm sure the advices are just there as appointees and nothing else and he doesn't really care what the people will go through from whatever policy he's making but if we base performance in structure, advancement, roads and educational policies, el rufai is the best both in the north and Nigeria |

abnot: From my experience visiting some african countries (ghana, tanzania, mozambique, ethiopia, kenya, angola, South Africa) I'll say that Nigerians are somewhat blacklisted. The challenges that propels many to move away from Nigeria to these countries are also present there. In addition to these you're constantly being doubted as a Nigerian. Some people may see this as normal but I don't.
In 2017 I took an AWA flight to accra and told the immigration officer at accra that I was only changing flights as I was to board a flight to paris 3 hours later which went well. While queing to board the air france flight I was pulled out of the queue for extra bag screening by ghanian officials.
Over to tanzania , It took about 2 months to secure a visa because nigeria is somewhat blacklisted and placed in same category as somalia, sudan, yemen... thus requiring the immigration commissioner to approve all visa applications. Arrived in the middle of the night with no problems clearing immigration. On my departure four days later I was singled out of the line after the airport police saw my nigerian passport and questioned about my visit.
In mozambique (maputo) I heard the immigration officer telling his colleague (in portuguese) "Check him properly as all these west africans cannot be trusted". He had no idea that I spoke a bit of portuguese.
In ethiopia I didnt experience any issues but could see how socialist and protectionist the country is which makes it difficult to even open a bank account, rental prices at double or triple for non ethiopians, people constantly staring at you on the roads as though they are seeing a strange being etc(I was a short term consultant at UNDP).
At JKIA nairobi I told the immigration officer that I had a flight to new york at midnight and needed to spend the day at a hotel in the city. He spent all the time looking for my US visa on my passport as if my entry depended on the possession of a US visa. Nevertheless had a really good time in the city but didnt stay for more than 12 hours but heard about cases of how nigerians and ghanians are maltreated.
For angola and south africa I could write a whole page . Worked on a tech project in j'burg which required frequent long visits in 2015 and all I can say is that country is not the typical african country. In the office (one of the big 4) there was a clear division (indians/whites/black africans) and black africans were at the bottom on the average. Your accent tends to determine how you'll be treated at even departmental stores and beyond.
My trips to these countries were purely official/private with no experience in the job market or business clime there but based on what i've seen or know, the best place to move to in africa as a nigerian is Nigeria. With the size of the economy and challenges I don't think we deserve the kind of treatment meted out by these african countries. If it was a Germany or UK or USA I'd probably hold a different opinion but Africa as a continent is divided deep into its grassroots and I believe the average nigerian can do better in nigeria. Today ghanians want nigerians out, S.Africans want nigerians out also. Woow!!!! Thanks alot sir for this!!! I don't even know the right questions to ask... I just wished Nigeria was slightly better than this in terms of security and economy I wont go anywhere!! It's always easier when you're in your country amongst your own people but then .... |

shollish: Guy, forget xenophobia..I've been there... there are many Nigerians there doing well,... that's why they don't come back even with the xenophobic riot. The ones that came back when Airpeace evacuated them for free are the ones that seized the opportunity to travel as ticket is usually expensive...over 200k for one way ... The south Africans are angry with Nigerians there that sell illegal drugs and human trafficking. There are mapped out places that are known for such crimes e.g is Hillbrow at Johannesburg. Even their police are complicit with the drug barons that's why the situation is so. Once you live with the main towns like Cape town, port Elizabeth etc , you are safe. There are many corporate blacks there doing well in sectors like engineering, medicine, business etc. The economy is good , though is are far more expensive there than Nigeria. Try evaluation of your docs with their agency and try. Thanks alot for this bro!! I've narrowed my options now to southy and their close neighbour Namibia!! I've read about their practising exams too, thanks bro, it seems you're in southy though? |

Evidenx: Namibia is a small country but things work there. South Africa is like their father as they look up to that country. Either Namibia or south is good for practicing medicine. Do some research online also. Their health care is better than that of Nigeria. I sure you that. Ok, thanks alot man |
