Business › Re: Obi Cubana: Highlights Of 2021 by Jarus(m): 1:14am On Dec 25, 2021 |
alien1: This year came with lots of chaos and confusion both politically and economically. For the average Nigerian things were gloomy, uncertainty was high, no glimmer of hope in sight nor anyone had a clue of what the next bombshell could be. However, one of the biggest highlights of 2021 is Obi Cubana and here are some of the things worth emulating from such a great personality:
1) Never despise your days of little beginnings, don't get pressured to engage in illegal vices.
2) Draw your loved ones close, family is everything.
3) Empowerment: give a supporting hands to the dreams of others, help them harness their potentials. Shout out to Davido on this one.
4) Networking: never underestimate the power of networking, don't burn bridges.
5) Responsibility: take care of yourself, your wife, kids and parents.
6) Humility and Respect: despite his social status, Obi Cubana is very approachable. Never berates or look down on anyone
7) Hard work: Set realistic goals and work towards bringing them to fruition.
Patience: things takes time, don't expect big results soon. Rome wasn't built in a day.
9) Challenges: Life is full of ups and downs, no one expected the EFCC invitation but integrity supercedes all. Trials will emerge but God never forgets his own.
10) Enjoy life: don't envy another man's success instead follow who know road. Obi Cubana made me come across other influencial people and business men such as:
Cubana Chief Priest, Ned Okonkwo, Man like Chico, Sir P (Potential), Sanmi Falaki, Toyin Adebola, Kacy Rondeau, Segun Ajayi, Jarus is still a force to be reckoned with and more. You all made 2021 beautiful for lots of us out there. Cheers to a more prosperous 2022! Thanks but pls remove my pic |

Career › Re: Software Engineer Or Chartered Accountant? by Jarus(m): 12:14pm On Dec 16, 2021*. Modified: 11:57am On Dec 17, 2021 |
I am a chartered accountant and not doing badly, but I will advise software engineering.
There are many chartered accountants. It's almost an all-comers field. Although there are also more jobs a CA can apply to (almost all organizations need an accountant and in large organizations, accounting department could be as big as 30 people).
So there may be more small to mid level opportunities for CA but I think software engineering is a narrower and better niche, useful home and abroad. You can relatively easily stand out.
You may be lost in the crowd in CA except you have other skills. |

She’s self employed,33years old and unmarried. Paid herself only 3months salary as she had to stop during Covid because her business got a bit difficult. CAC was inactive. I want to thank everyone here even if I was advised not to go ahead with the application but with God, everything is possible. Just be truthful and provide the necessary documents that can aid your application. There’s no one straight road to applying when you’re self employed,be honest and prayerful.thank you! As you know the ground clearance is not good at all for our roads and its imperative it is raised in order not to destroy the belly. I guess you no longer use the car , but please guide me on what your experience was like after the raise and any other helpful tips I should know. You can also recommend your technician.
Thanks in advance Sir. No side effect. It was done well and worked perfectly. |

He’s older than me a bit. We played football together in oregun. He followed his part and I’m glad he’s up there. I’m very sure he will be at the top for a long time cause he didn’t subtract too much from his age. How old are you? |

snapdragon00: This is an update to the previous thread here:
https://www.nairaland.com/6783357/traveling-air-first-time/7#106420545
So i boarded my plane this morning and i can say it was a great experience thanks to all your contributions and tips. Lemme start like this, I woke up so early as my flight was at 8:25 since it's my first time i needed to play safe to avoid stories that touch i didn't give my village people a chance in that aspect.
I arrived at the airport few minutes to 7 and by 7:10 i was done checking in and ready for boarding (I didn't expect it to be so fast and smooth tho)
That was how i started pressing my phone and carefully paying attention to the announcements that one could barely hear. (I think airports need to do better as some of us no dey understand that kind accents) They can just past the announcement on a screen for people to read, anyways what do i know? maybe people have not missed flight as a result of that.
Ehen so while waiting, i was just observing everything, i saw one bros seated behind me so i walked up to him and confessed. "Bros no vex, na my first flight bdis, abeg if dem announce air peace flight to lagos just let me know" he smiled and said i shouldn't worry. Few minutes later i heard the announcement naso i pack my things go join queue, kudos to air peace (unlike the other announcements i heard, they used one local accent to announce before the normal posh accent repeated the announcement so it was easy for me to know it's time to board.
They did the normal thing and i was inside the plane naso i just dey look like village boy. i followed the suggestion by some good NLanders and watched how to fasten a plane seat belt so it was not an issue, i no disgrace my ancestors. except for the air hostess that was rude when i asked her for my seat everything went fine, i was so calm and composed like i've done this before. The plane took off and few minutes later we're flying above the clouds i was just smiling all through then i felt a sharp pain in my left ear, boom i no dey hear well again. then i remembered i was told here, i just swallowed saliva and i'd regain my hearing, it continued through out the flight. some of the things i noticed through the flight was:
Majority of land, like 70 percent is uninhabited, i saw my knowledge of geography come into play as we ascend into the sky, i could easily identify all the different layers like atmosphere, lithosphere and the rest it was like we're traveling to space, asin after all science no dey lie oo but above all God is the greatest. My experience helped me to believe God more, like he created all these things, he has the power to do anything so why even doubt him.
At some point during the flight, the plane was vibrating and turning anyhow lol but i didnt panic because i remembered nairalanders told me about it, i was seated by the window and stayed awake all through. Like 20 minutes into the flight, the pilot said "for those of you sitting by the right if you look by the window we are just flying over ibadan" naso i look and was like, oga i no see ibadan here ooo na just thick cloud i see. That was how i landed in lagos around 10am and the weather was looking like 4pm nawao. i enjoyed my flight sha and i hope to do this again, but next time it should be canada not lagos. Congrats and welcome to Lagos |

fkj950ax: IGR and VAT are different. The fact that he lumped IGR figures to explain his VAT theories is him muddying the water.
The call for VAT domiciliation by respective states is the crux. Rivers State that initiated this isn't looking at it as Northern vs Southern states performances as he has done here. Check the heading of that table (which he sourced from Vanguard), the data he is using here is for VAT, not IGR. |
