Either the WHO and all health agencies don't understand the mode of spread of this virus or they are lying to the masses. If this virus truly spreads by droplets of an infected person getting into the mouth, eyes or nose of an uninfected person then there is no way it would be spreading this fast. Reason am analytically. This spread looks more like if you come in contact with an infected person you contact it immediately.

It only enters the system through the mouth, nose or eyes, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t transmit to other body parts, especially hand. But having it on your hand is not the problem. It can’t enter the system through it until you use the hand to touch the nose, mouth or eyes. That is why you are told to always wash your hand and not touch face, such that if you touch a surface that has it, it gets washed away before you touch your face.

Enclosed place like an air-conditioned banking offices is another risk factor.

Since I have been reading about and seeing pictures of snakes on Nairaland in the last 4 years, I have been extremely careful, probably paranoid.

Even rope now looks like a snake to me. I once saw something under my generator and rushed out to call boys in my neighbourhood who came out with matchete, only to find out it was a rope.

I hardly step out at night or early in the morning again.

Why not go to an high class hotel in Lagos or Abuja with top tech internet facilities and limit your phone usage for ultimate concentration. There are many hotels of such. This is the best option.

Hello guys

I'm interested in travelling to the UK 3rd week in August to spend like 10 days. I have one online exam I do (which I can do from anywhere) but from past experience I perform best when I totally leave Nigeria and "camp myself" in a hotel in the UK fully studying 7 days before the exam. I enjoy the study without any distraction. The only 3 times I scored distinction in the courses, this was what I do.

I returned in March shortly before the closure of airports after similar exercise (and I enjoyed the study).

I'm planning booking my flight this or next week but I'm scared of the new protocols which are still unclear. I don't want to go through any serious stress. Is there some guidance yet on whether flying from Lagos to the UK would have been fully operational by August and whether coronavirus test will be required before leaving Nigeria or when one arrives in the UK, and whether I have to self-isolate in the UK for 2 weeks upon arrival?

Any helpful development or guidance on these?

UPDATE: I think I have found the answer here https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control. The protocol is too demanding. Not sure it is worth is. Sad

I think directly facing the ocean. The Coastal road directly faces the ocean - just few meters away.

Nairaland has helped lots of people find solution to their problem, I hope I'm as lucky as others.

Over the last couple of years I noticed my vision declining everyday.
I think I started taking notice of it more when I was In 100l, if I don't sit right in front of the class, I don't see whatever is written on the board.

I have gone to the hospital where they were just interested in selling recommended glass which I have used up till now that I have graduated but no visible improvement.

It is so bad that I don't see subtitles when watching movies on TV.

Many times, people pass and wave at me from afar and I will see the person waving but the face will be blurry.

But when reading, I don't use glasses because I can see very well no matter how Tiny the writing may be.

Exactly what happened to me in 2011 at a training organized by my company. The colleague that sat beside me was seeing everything on the projector screen, I couldn’t see anything.

I reported at an eye clinic and I was told I was long overdue for glasses. I have been using glasses since then.

I also can’t read sub-titles without glasses. I can even barely identify football players on TV without glasses if I sit 20m away from the TV.

I also see objects close to me very well. In fact, glasses inconveniences me when reading so I remove it.

We have exactly the same eye issue. We are both short-sighted.

If it’s not Samsung or iphone, I don’t bother looking.

Re #2, there is nothing that says you must pray with a cap on. You may or may not wear cap.

He did not desecrate anything.

Old people are allowed to pray sitting. In fact, many mosques in other countries (eg UK) have chairs in mosques for elders.

At 78, I think this is not out of place for Buhari.

Coastal road starts from around Oniru through Elegushi beach all the way to Ogombo (Abraham Adesanya Estate), but I don't think it has been completed beyond Elegushi side but SUVs still navigate when avoiding traffic on main Lekki-Ajah expressway

The fact that they took time to shower praises on the late NNPC GMD instantly makes them suspect. They even did it twice.

I did a Google search only to find out that they have no past history. Every news about them is about this NNPC recruitment and they were all posted few hours ago.

Apparently, they are stakeholders who have connived with Baru to put their own people there. They are only screaming because they suspect the new GMD wants to replace them with his own people.

Shame on all of them.

I think they are making a legitimate demand, the time of their formation does not matter.

And Baru was a great guy, at least he did well on that recruitment. I can bet the recruitment would have been completed since last year if his tenure did not expire while the process was going on. He took it as a personal project. I will commend him for that.
