yony banta: Please guys, we must learn to say positive things on this under 20 team and also Nigeria at large. Statement like: Nigeria is a disgrace, Nigeria is going no where; can not help us.
we are part of Nigeria, whether Nigeria is disgraceful or not, Nigeria cannot be disgraceful with the exemption of its citizen, so by implication the prosperity of this nation or retrogression can directly affects us. do something to help change the nation, leaders alone cannot do. Good people, great nation! |

Another masterclass from Becoomrich: And Yar Adua has to do this to be ahead of the team. I have more ideas of running the nigeria system than yar adua minister because I have seen nigeria system and also seen other countries system. And by comparing the two, I would be able to make a better decision. This is how countries like Japan, china , korea have done it. Just go thru their list. People living abroad thier chance of performing better are higher than those living in Nigeria because of international exposure.
Honestly this is why most Nigerian living abroad come here to do. To get exposure to a better system. If we can pick our best football team from abroad. I think Yar Adua should pick his ministers from abroad and let try the system. And if after 6 month. Thing does not change. Yar Adua should arrest me , when I come to nigeria, for given him wrong advice. He should be careful who he picks. But he should not look at accademic qualification but more of experience. It is not about going to school abroad but what you did aboad. Where did you work. We can transform the Nigeria economy. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-331507.0.html |

becoomrich: If you look at Obasanjo team, they all have the potential of becoming president. and Obasanjo was fun of changing his minister. He drop those who did not perform and that why many did not remain. Even the great ciroma was drop. Yar Adua has to look at his team and start droping them now. He can start dropping them one every month. he does not have to change everybody at least drop some, to warn the others, they are on thier way out. that was what obasanjo did. This way, everybody was scared not to be drop and they were force to perform. It is one of the tricks of good leadership.
International exposure is vital to be a minister. Really. if you look at countries like china, japan, korea. They mostly pick from thier international team . And that is the reason they have bridge the technology gap between them and the west.

TalkLittle: As regards ETB, don't really understand the hullabaloo about "corporate governance" when the bank is a limited liability company and not a Public Limited Liability company. Who does the board of directors answer to or give their stewardship to? Is it not the owners? Does this bank belong to the public? So the bank owners are the owners of the depositors' monies too? If the bank crashes, is it only the owners that will lose? What about the public that have billions there as deposits? CBN is responsible for safeguarding the depositors too. I personally think ETB's problem is overbearing influence of one man. |

I don't tink our boys r dat bad, only dat we got no striker like Chrisantus or skilful winger like Ganiyu Oseni & Kabiru Akinsola, oh I miss dose Tella entertaining boys.
Anyway,I'm happy we're meeting Ghana. Let me go to Ghanaweb and make mouth. Since SE disgraced us by playing draw wt Tunisia in Abuja, and d recent FE losses, i've been e-shy to open dat forum. If we beat Ghana,Naija forumers get more bragging rights. |

Francis Atuche i can authoritatively report, resigned his appointment this morning Though the board is set to announce a replacement later today, there is a feeling that the CBN will still sack whoever replaces him Given that CBN will inject some money for sustain the banks liquidity. I spoke with a staff in the Corporate Com Dept of the bank who confirmed this. Francis Atuche i can authoritatively report, did not his appointment this morning. Here is my back up link too: http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=155990Francis himself debunked the claim he resigned. |

Hmmmmn, getting more and more interesting! “Contrary to reports today, I have not resigned from the bank. I simply wrote a thank you letter, a valedictory letter, in readiness for whatever the CBN wants to do,” he said. He said he has had a very interesting six weeks and “has seen the other side of midnight” but is taking whatever the outcome will be this afternoon in good faith. When asked if he will attend the meeting convened by the CBN today with the affected five banks, he answered in the affirmative. “Yes I will be there. I have no reason to stay away,” he stated. So Atuche still did not resign. . . . Waiting for Lemo to mouth the sack later this afternoon. . . . This got to a head on Wednesday, this week, when some directors of the banks held a meeting (not board meeting) at the premises of Spring Bank, a subsidiary of BankPHB. At the meeting, Abiola once again raised the issue of Atuche’s resignation which he rejected a second time with the backing of other directors. Atuche, after the meeting, promptly left Lagos for Abuja to solicit the support of high ranking government officials to intercede on his behalf with the CBN governor. But it was too little too late. Being Abiola/Yar'adua bank, maybe he thought he can get Yar'adua stop Sanusi The three banks whose executive management will be removed this afternoon are BankPHB, Spring Bank and Equitorial Trust Bank who will be replaced by a new team to be announced by the CBN today. The audit exercise showed that all three banks are illiquid and their capital adequacy ratios failed to meet the minimum stipulated requirement I read from BusinessDay that Mike Adenuga will be removed as NED in ETB. Lemo bombshell not news again, we now know who are going: PHB,Spring & ETB CEOs http://businessdayonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5467:adenuga-atuche-2-bank-chiefs-directors-to-go&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18In the case of Wema and Unity Banks, their management will not be removed, but both banks will get capital injections from the CBN. The management of both banks are being let off the hook for two reasons. In the case of Unity Bank, the audit showed that even though its capital adequacy fell below the minimum stipulated requirement, it was sufficiently liquid, and was therefore advised by the CBN to raise additional capital. It was given till June next year to meet the minimum capital adequacy ratio of 10 per cent as stipulated by the CBN. With respect to Wema Bank, the bank’s management is being left in place because it is a new team that took over the bank barely six months ago after the O’dua Group which previously held a substantial stake in the bank sold it to new shareholders, a consortium called the SW8. The management of Wema Bank has also been advised by the CBN to raise fresh capital. I just hope critics will not say this is because Unity is a northern bank and Tunde Lemo former Wema Bank boss. Analysts, quack and informed, are bracing up for the next war of analyses. Tunde Lemo, let's have the results. . . |
