You just have to accept that one man's food is another man's poison. We often abuse the word GREAT a lot. I won't join in abusing the man, a late one for that matter. A dead man knew nothing. I am a true christian, hence I don't believe in after life, so whether anyone of us abuse or praise him means nothing, as Enahoro knew nothing about it.
But history is there for the living to waste time on, that is why its called history. History is never too old to talk about, if you forget the past, what then is history?
Only that one should never allow the past to shape what his should be in the present.
thank you brother. those are words of wisdom and i respect that!!! but if they want to insult him then they should carry their insults to another forum because this is a Nigerian forum not an ethnic forum.

A lot of it won't make sense to you because you have been conditioned to Nigerian way of thinking.  undecided

Overwhelming majority of Igbo people would rather do other things than be civil servants or politicians (in a country where GRAFT will be IMPOSSIBLE).
You keep thinking there will still be oil money to steal. undecided No, there won't be. undecided

All the money will come from business and personal income taxes. You steal, get convicted and face death by hanging.  cool Then politics loses much of its lure. You can't make money from it. Most Igbo men hate where they can't make money. Did you think about that?
ROMFL!!! LOL grin grin grin grin. NA WA FOR THIS YOUR NEW COUNTRY OOO! grin grin grin grin. to be serious, we should implement that into law in nigeria!
PoliticsRe: When Oil Finishes, What Next? by jason12345: 11:21am On Dec 15, 2010
Onlytruth:
It will NOT be mini-Nigeria because the majority tribe (Igbo) will for once concentrate on things that make a country rich -science, technology, industry, commerce, instead of imposing a lazy culture on a country, with a born to rule mentality.  Did you think about that?  huh

Again, we are 90% Christian. Did you think about that?  huh
it has nothing to do with Christianity! when crimes are committed in the west or east, do any of the criminals remember Christ then? same goes for politics and cohesion. most southerners are Christians but that does not mean there is any cohesion between them. although, i must agree, there would be some of cohesion but that cohesion might not be strong enough when greed comes to play. undecided

Eastern Nigeria is the most peaceful part of Nigeria, even before the coming of the European and since Nigeria became a country. There has never been intertribal wars in eastern Nigeria.

There has been intra-community conflicts, but NOT inter-tribal wars.
i already answered that
jason12345:
thats because you were different distinct clans ( intra community conflicts) then and even now you all have a common enemy (nigeria). once that is gone. . . . .  you know the rest!

Onlytruth:
My guy, can't you even think at all? huh huh

So, you don't see that it all has to do with Nigeria? A country where if you are not in politics, you can't even do commerce or industry or business! Obasanjo almost single handedly destroyed all top Igbo businesses.

Igbo are in Nigerian politics because it has been used by your Yoruba people and Hausas to oppress them in Nigeria. That will not happen in Biafra for obvious reasons.

Remove Nigeria, and give us Biafra and you will be shocked to see it being run by minorities for many years.

Igbo endorsement of Jonathan is a little proof.
as i said the ohanaeze endorsement has nothing to do with this! they endorsed GJ because they expect GJ to "handover" the presidency to an igbo man after his tenure.

and how is it possible to be ran by minorities? when it is going to be a mini-nigeria with a mixture of heterogeneous ethnic groups? anyway, we shall see cool
PoliticsRe: When Oil Finishes, What Next? by jason12345: 11:06am On Dec 15, 2010
Onlytruth:
To give you a perspective outside of your jaundiced Nigerian fixated one, what about a South African model whereby the Igbos will focus on industry, science, technology and commerce, while the minorities run the government and civil service? How about that? Did it ever occur to you that Igbo man is NOT really interested in politics, or that he is MORE interested in OTHER things than politics. Nigeria has polluted your mind so much that you can't even see what is right under your nose.

It will also be 90% CHRISTIAN. So, who will be fighting who? Have you EVER heard of intertribal war in eastern Nigeria? NEVER.
thats because you were different distinct clans then and even now you all have a common enemy. once that is gone. . . . .  you know the rest!

thats a lie!!! then why are interested in presidency now undecided since you are not "interested" in politics then why is it that when i asked other igbo man (igbobuigbo) about an eastern candidate and i mention utomi or donald duke he said they are not igbo so they cannot represent them undecided. you and i know that the scenario you stated above would not happen. why? nothing unites you not even language and yet you tell me the igbos would not be bothered about politics undecided. well, you are not the one that is going to determine that undecided cool cool cool.

@ dapobear

sorry to add this again smiley

the only thing that unites the east is nigeria because they have a common enemy once that is gone, you would see the "true extent of alaigbo" grin grin grin.
PoliticsRe: When Oil Finishes, What Next? by jason12345: 10:47am On Dec 15, 2010
@ dapo bear

. . . . .  and just to add to my post
biafra would probably be ravaged by civil war because of the various separate ethnic groups in it. it will just be another mini-nigeria with igbos as the northerner since they are the majority undecided and other ethnic groups will be trying to replace the yoruba and igbo in the new mini-nigeria. undecided

and anyone that tells me that they would govern through federalism is just joking undecided because that was what nigeria did before we had a coup!!! history always tend to repeat itself undecided lipsrsealed

@ eku-bear

i feel you but i really think you should not get involved with onlytruth about this matter. its not because he can argue better than you, its because he already has closed mind and its really none of your business undecided. my take on this matter is that nigeria would likely split and if it does so into 3 or 4 parts;

1) the north would not feel anything since the status quo has not changed while they are in nigeria. moreover, religion unites them. also, the people would be motivated to show their former country men that they can do without oil
2) the west would probably be better off since they have not only oil but other natural resources coupled with their seaport. massive education programs would start to stop the spread of area boys. the people would be motivated.

3) the ibibio etc would probably join the igbos but if they don't, then, the baifrans would probably be still probably be ok but not overly sucessful. not that i care anyway undecided. iMO

CultureRe: Beauty In Diversity: What Do You Admire In Other Tribes Of Nigeria? by jason12345: 12:22am On Dec 15, 2010
i admire igbos for their intelligence and motivative spirit.
i admire the yorubas because of their culture, language and heritage. also, their liberal and accommodating nature is admirable.
i admire the hausas for their honest nature and spiritualism (but they take it over board at times tongue).
i admire the ijaws because they are just nice people (although, i have only met two)
btw, my brother is married to an edo lady and i can testify that she makes him the happiest man alive. since they got married, they have grown from strength to strength. my other brother is also married to an hausa lady (half hausa/half french but more to the hausa side) and she is also as lovely.

(i think i would go for the igbo ladies wink just to balance the equation grin grin grin.)

all in all, every ethnic group is blessed!!! smiley

why do you sound so worriedhuh

If the Igbos are weak, then advantage whatever tribe you come from.

So why are you drinking panadol for another man's sickness. Stop snooping around all threads about Ndigbo and trying to impose your ideas on others.

If we are weak then please by all means allow us to wallow in our weakness.
it is a forum where anyone can add their ideas. it not necessary that you follow. itsekiri is a sub-group of yoruba and i have come to terms with this.

btw, i never said igbos are weak, i said you sounded weak.

Do you honestly believe there was some kind of conspiracy between Shagari and Buhari just so that Ekwueme will not be President? You guys need to grow up.

We are no longer in the era of coups, to determine your choice of politics based on what happen at a time when the scenario was totally different is simply ridiculous. Do you honestly believe you have more right to be more angry than Ekwueme himself? do you think Ekwueme is silly to stick to the zoning policy he helped sign?

Most of you need to learn a lot in politics. The best thing for us is to stick to the PDP zoning formula. If Atiku becomes President PDP will certainly go from strength to strength and the worst thing we will do is to jettission the PDP zoning formula that we played crucial role in crafting.
no offence, but the bold part above sounded so weak!

Chyz your talk about second fiddle don't make sense all.

What fiddle are you playing at the moment? you are neither first, nor second, nor 3rd, nor 4th.

President is South South
V. President North
Senate President North Central
Speaker SouthWest.
Deputy Senate President SouthEast

So when you talk crap about playing second fiddle remember that you are playing 5th fiddle at the moment.

Ridiculous argument!!!!!!!!!

There are over 300 ethnic groups in Nigeria and whether you like it or not there are times when you certainly will not produce the President of the country. There is nothing wrong about producing the Vice President and it does not mean playing second fiddle at all ok?
yes, there are over 300 ethnic groups but most of them are sub-groups to the 3 major ethnic groups.

secondly, why are you so scared of producing a candidate of your own with charisma and courage to take nigeria by storm  huh why do you always enjoy playing the beautiful bride role, just to be used and dumped undecided huh. so, you think atiku would leave 2015 grin grin ;Dlol. or do you think the presidency would be zoned to ndigbo 2019 huh do you know how the political terrain would have changed undecided do you know that by then we might not be talking about zoning huh. the so called zoning thing started 2003 because the north meet obj and wanted power after him. do you even know why they gave the west a pawn head president (obj)? it was to prevent the break up of this country! can you not analysis these things cryhuh
