spikes C: The writer is saying open like is a new web 3.0 word grin
Imagine him saying java is fast, for a moment i thought i would see fat

More jobs for java programmers....what a joke cheesy
I take this to be a joke, if you didn't know what he meant when he said open, or you are saying that you are the only one on this forum that doesn't know they are more jobs for Java programmers in this industry, or you are saying that a language that powers the Android platform, twitter, blogger and youtube is a slow language, then i am wasting my time here! Sorry to disappoint, I am a very busy person. Good Night cool

spikes C: I'll give anything for more speed cool
Good! if its speed you want DO NOT use C++, try C or even Assembly language, they are way faster, since you can give up anything cheesy
ProgrammingRe: Java Vs C++ by Javanian:
WhiZTiM: Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird, Adobe CS suites, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer Microsoft Office, File servers, Graphics intensive Game Engines, Javascript Engines, National Security Software, Music production suites, Raytracing software, massive and computationally intensive simulation systems
Dude! So are you saying Java can't be used to build all these? The word bias is written all over your post. These are few softwares written in java http://java.dzone.com/tips/ten-amazing-java-applications
ProgrammingRe: Java Vs C++ by Javanian: 1:48am On Jul 07, 2013
spikes C: Errrm, embedded ain't done with only just C
True, There is also embedded Java

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/embedded/overview/getstarted/index.html

The basic aim of using a particular language is ease of use (for a particular project) and speed.
Please can i know what made you draw this conclusion? The basic aim of a language is ease of use? really?

You didn't talk of cross platform compatibility (write once run anywhere)? you didn't talk of efficient development environment? you didn't talk of readily available frameworks? you didn't talk of available Libraries?

Also, are you saying c++ is an easier language? A language where i have to use pointers? A language that suffers memory leaks? really? I advice you do some research before drawing very very irrelevant conclusions...
ProgrammingRe: Java Vs C++ by Javanian: 12:33am On Jul 07, 2013
lordZOUGA: If there are faster processors, that will only make C++ faster.
No doubt! But the point is that the speed difference may not be noticed again.

P.s. I am not trying to dispute the fact that c++ is a great language
ProgrammingRe: Java Vs C++ by Javanian: 12:19am On Jul 07, 2013
spikes C: Lets say, i am a lazy person, and i wanna learn a language that does almost everything grin
without actually forcing me to do almost everything undecided

i.e desktop, embedded etc. (Not for mobile and web, in fact things that are not language specific)

What will you chose huh

And give me reasons sad
No mobile?, No web ? Okay!

Embedded is done with C

Desktop? The only viable advantage C++ has over Java is Speed, Java Desktop apps run on a Virtual Machine which makes it a bit slower than c++ but with improved processor speed et all over the years this is often overlooked. Outside this both can be used to acheive nearly thesame thing. You talked about web servers earlier on, Jakarta Tomcat, Jetty, Simple, Rimfaxe, Reattore are a few web servers written in Java (find more here http://java-source.net/open-source/web-servers). My brother, Java isn't the most popular language in the world for nothing! cool
ProgrammingRe: Java Vs C++ by Javanian: 12:03am On Jul 07, 2013
lordZOUGA: anyway, I was trying to give you an analogy that best defines the comparison between C++ and Java.
i know that, but java isn't a C++ wannabe, thats what i am trying to show, they both have their pros and cons. it all depends on what you want to acheive...
ProgrammingRe: Java Vs C++ by Javanian: 11:43pm On Jul 06, 2013
lordZOUGA: interesting. So, if you are given a iPhone and an "iPhone like" device, which of them will you choose?
An android device cool

Both the android and the iphone device has its pros and cons
ProgrammingRe: Java Vs C++ by Javanian: 9:02pm On Jul 06, 2013
spikes C: Javanian, lets finish it here cool

#perfectThread
lmao, @op it all depends on what you want to acheive. Both languages have their own strengths.

But Java Rules cool

Elvisten10: But why all this, my thread started ok and it was cool. I replied your earlier post well like somebody i respected (because i did, a whole lot has changed now). If i had started that thread with bad and wrong grammatical statement, you would have said another thing. Never mind, i will never reply your post again, am not tired, but am just wasting my time and stressing myself. I know you would have loved it that, that misunderstanding remains. But am sorry, to let you know that God is by my side to make sure the truth comes out. Its just that its suprising to see some one you thought was so big and you respected so much to behave this way. To any of you thinking that programming is affecting my studies, thats not true. My position in class is between 1 - 3 out of 26. Also, if you think am into girls, am sorry to disappoint you am not. I have never dated a girl before, i do remember asking some of my friends what they gain from girl friends, i just have friends that are girls with no string attached. If i was into girls it would show everywhere i go, on my facebook wall and other places. I would have been talking about love or her as other people do. You can ask CODE-EATER about that. I feel girls are a form of distraction and a drainage to resources(i learnt this from friends of mine). I don't go out much, my room is my everything. And if you think i am wayward and have grown wings. Tell me the parents that will allow their wayward son to answer calls with their son ? Or will hand over their phone to their son without knowing what and what the caller wants but waits for explanation from their son. And also for trust, i have alot of Xmx Me customers on nairaland who can also give you more info about me (aiyeboy, etc). Its called a holiday, and i want to use mine to build problem solving apps, that i cannot really achieve when am alot bigger because then, i would be doing alot of jobs for people and i will be taking care of myself partially but now i don't do any stuff. I didn't start that thread to be noticed, i needed a pc and anyway i can get it (jobs, etc). To those of you that still think am not the one posting all this, keep thinking. Because if i had used alot of wrong english you would have said what kind of school did you attend you can't even write, i wonder how you code and stuffs like that. You can keep wondering, just as you said time will tell. Its nice knowing you. Most of this was to graphicsplus and some to akintayo and funky median(wrong spelling). Just know this @ graphicsplus, you just lost what you can't gain back in many peoples lifes. At funky median(wrong) i would like to know you more, i love the way you talk.*winks*. @akintayo, you can't compare me with your son. The fact that shark is bigger than cat fish doesn't mean they are not both fishes or the fact that imported shoes and most aba shoes are not the same quality doesn't mean that they are not all shoes. There are many things your son uses his time for, the sooner you realized that the better. Am just a nerd by nature, i don't care how long i live all i care about its what i achieved and how i helped mankind, i have spent about 6 years doing techy stuff, researches and so on. You don't expect us to be equal, at jss2 i knew archimede's principle thats something. I didn't come here to be noticed or make noise. If i had a pc i would have been on my own and by God grace my products will speak for me. Don't believe anything they posted here against me, because i have promised myself never to reply to them again. You can talk to me here or contact me one on one. COURT!!! ARISE, THE ACCUSED PERSON HAS BEEN FOUND INONCENT.
This is the post i cant unban you but i can see your post. Please let this be your last post. Enough is enough, you have made your point. This thread is enough proof that you are legit.

Nawah oh!
WebmastersRe: My Request When Elvis10ten Is Cleared by Javanian: 6:45pm On Jun 29, 2013
First of all, i would like to start by giving a word of advice to Elvis. Elvis, Like Pc Guru advised you, Stop comming to this forum to look for sympathy and attention, you are not the only teenage programmer here. I know about 5 other teenagers in the programming and web masters board excluding the two slyrox mentioned yesterday. But they don't come here to Bitcch about it. That doesn't mean they don't have their own challenges.

I would like to apologies to Elvis as i was on of those who termed him a scammer last night although he has himself to blame for that. Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis is very very legit and most of what he said was true (atleast those i could confirm)

Last night immediately Elvis sent me his address, i called a childhood friend of mine who lives on his street and as soon as i mentioned Elvis Chidera, He said he knows the boy, that he is a boy of 14/15 years in Secondary School. But he wasnt sure if the boy was a programmer or not. He told me i was supposed to know him, he tried describing him but i just couldn't place it then.

It eventually turned out that elvis was a boy i used to play with a few years back, we stayed in thesame neighbourhood. Yes, I am also a teenager, just a little older than he is. We knew each other facially and nothing more than that, until today. I asked elvis some questions to proove he was the programmer he claimed and yes he prooved himself.

If there is anyone who can help him financially to acquire a laptop and pursue his dreams, Please do.

@elvis when i am less busy i would come along so we can work on some projects together.

One more thing, i am disappointed at some people here who keep discouraging this boy, beleive me, its not just fair. Some of our parents dont beleive we can make it in this field in this country but we want to proove them wrong. You guys who are much older than us and know what potential this field holds should try and encourage us. You should be happy that its not every teenager in this generation that wants to be the next Justin beiber, davido or wizkid. You should try and encourage us.

Peace!
