scaezar:
Its a tourist visa. Im not going for study. I believe his bank statement is stronger than my own thats why im using his. Im just going for a month. I just want to go see canada because I have a long leave at work.
Dear scaezar, menakay is very right about this one. this is not a tangible reason for your uncle to sponsor you and 'just wanting to go see canada' is surely not a good reason for your uncle to agree to sponsor you. lets be objective, even if he wanted to sponsor your vacation, why is he not sponsoring you to cheaper amazing dubai that is closer and even more beautiful or to magical kenya that is visa on arrival, cheaper and closer. make a more convincing case to a visa officer to clear his/her doubts. that is what makes someone qualified for a visa. my opinion always and best of luck

scaezar:
Hello, been following this thread for the past week. Im aplying online for tourist visa. I am being sponsored by my uncle and i have provided his bank statement in the past 4mths with a balance of #10m.
My question is, do i still need to show my own bank statement or payslip from work?
And can anybody please provide me with a good format for a cover letter? Thanks. I want to submit today hopefully
hi scaezar, i always try to reiterate that money is usually not a problem in a US/Canada visa application at least for an individual. US VOs constantly approve Visas for people who earn less than 100k monthly who in a holistic approach, can pay for but cannot actually afford a holiday to the US. the intent of return is very essential.
as a TRV applicant and a full blown adult, why would an individual outside your nuclear family sponsor your application? if this reason is very tangible, a VO would consider but unfortunately, this isn't always a tangible reason. an adult should be able to pay for his vacation as this is purely a fun event. schooling or a career related symposium is then a different matter. your uncle, as the VO would assume, has much more pressing things to attend to concerning his own family.
to answer your question, yes please include your account statement and all relevant materials to show your engagement back home. you have to understand that if you made this application without any tangible documentation on YOUR ties, it will most likely be refused as you cannot qualify for a visa with another person's ties.
my advise, hopefully you haven't submitted, is to wait this one out until it makes more sense.

Can anyone help... if someone is ban in canada for 5yrs, can such person apply for us visa.
Hope d canada ban wont have any effect on d US visa application now.

The 5yrs ban was because he said NO, when ask if he has been refuse visa in US before. And, he reply canada embassy when asked for additional infor, yet he was still ban.
hi Justolusola, a ban is typically handed out for misrepresentation.in simple words, a lie.it will worry the US VO that this applicant is seen as untrustworthy but being upfront with information always does a trick here. in my opinion, it will affect the application all things being equal but the applicant can always explain to the US VO even before he raises the concern and to make sure to answer the DS160 truthfully. every application is different but this is quite a burden but good thing is that there is a chance to explain. best of luck

Aktyso:
I applied for TRV and was denied base on travel history and purpose of visit. Though I have visited US and still have valid US visa. My intension was to visit Niagara fall during my next summer Visit to USA. Can I still apply again when I get to US. I lent it is faster there or to re apply when I returned.
hi Aktyso, please understand that a VO is trained to link an applicant's ties to his/her home country not the country of application per say as you don't have a residence permit in the US with a NIV B1B2 visa. applying in the US can only deliver a decision sooner and not surely positive. all VOs receive same training. prior travel to the US also doesnt guarantee a canadian visa. it plays an important role in your application but the VO is judging your entire circumstance and timing to help him/her make a decision.apply for you GCMS notes to learn in detail why you were refused. in my opinion, being a 'de facto resident' is one major concern a VO may have for US visa holders so in your new application, integrate your itinerary into your explanation letter to make your travel plans clearer and never fail to make your engagement back home crystal clear. best of luck

careerwoman:
Sorry your mum wouldn't be able to make your graduation anymore. Your application is still within the 6 week timeframe. it would have been easier to humbly request for the app to be fast tracked when you still had the graduation ceremony as an important reason for her to visit (Yes, the VOs are human beings and they have feelings too) I'm not sure you can plead for a fast track now since there's no urgency for her to visit anymore. You can either choose to wait out the remaining days within the app timeframe or still send them a mail..
All the best.
dear careerwoman, i always try to reiterate the fact that every application is different. i also try as much as possible to say things i know and i point out some are my opinion and personal or family experience. my last TRV application was last year and it was to attend my sister's convocation in which i had family members i intend to travel with who already have valid TRVs. my application was made 55days to my travel date with evidence i have family I'm traveling with for an important event when the processing time on CIC's website was 51days. i missed the event even after sending them mails and the TRV was approved 6weeks after the event and about 14 weeks after the application. its simple to understand. if, for example, your employer or bank is delaying to verify your employment status or legitimacy of the provided POF documents respectively, would the VO go ahead to process? this is why applications made at same time have their decisions made at different times. well, this is how i understand the process works and thanks for sharing your experience too

SamReinvented:
Based on the evidences on this thread, VOs don't grant visas to attend conferences that have already ended before visa processing is concluded. That's a ground for refusal in itself. Your app submission was quite late though. Why? If there was a genuine reason for the late submission, you should've bombarded them with emails, to plead for a faster processing. A lady here did that and got her visa within few weeks.

Wishing you all the best though.
Hi SamReinvented, this is a very valid point but remember every application is different. the full circumstance is never clear as its only the VO and the applicant that know the whole story. if you're applying for a TRV to just visit for this conference, the VO might be uptight but if you made it clear you have other plans like to visit family or friends or just to see Niagara falls, then its different. the truth is that most applicants don't put themselves in the VO's shoes. for example; you have never traveled out of the country and then for the very first time, you want to travel to Canada for a conference on 'big data' but you're an insurance broker. this just falls out of place. Canada and US issue a lot of first time travelers visas but your trip has to make sense. i always properly analyze my application before i turn it into any embassy because mistakes can be costly so if i pay for a visa, i expect to see the sticker when i receive my passport.
secondly, bombarding the immigration office with email, in my opinion and experience, is for self satisfaction and doesn't really make an application to be processed faster. when an application is complete, it is queued and treated on a first-come-first-served basis but because applications are different and some verification may take longer than others, some decisions are quicker than others. My opinion

Graceee:
I dont think it can affect the decision if it was a tourist visa you applied for.
I am not very sure about the conference visit, if it will affect the applications decision.
Just hold on you will get some better answers from experienced folks in the house and probably Jawa will help
hi Graceee, you are far too kind with responses. you put in a lot of effort on here and sometimes i wish i can put in as much. thank you.

honestly, i am not very sure about this one. in my personal experience, it doesn't matter. if an applicant is qualified (beats the presumption of being an immigrant) (s)he will be issued a visa regardless of whatever you wanted to go for. Canada is just particularly uptight because the country obviously has long term population target and the very composition of people they want in it. if this application was done right and on time, the conference passing as a result of the application exceeding normal processing times has put the ball in the VO's court. if this is an annual symposium, i would suggest a mail is sent to them saying that since this year's has passed that you would love to attend next year's own but be careful of the tone so as to not sound desperate and reiterate ties briefly and why attending this conference is important.if its an association in which the applicant is a member, make it known. however, in as much as i am not a VO or have the training , its not news that if this conference is not directly in line with applicant's job role and/or education and well explained, this application will most likely be refused especially if this is the main reason for the proposed visit. my opinion. good luck

Mcicze:
Pls i need you guys urgent help! How can I get a tourist visa to Canada? I don't have any eligible person to send me a letter of invitation, i don't have any landed property in my name, am not married, am self employed and sponsoring myself so have up to #500.000 but no history of account(bank). Pls someone's urgent advice is needed.
dear Mcicze, this doubt is a clear indication that your visa will most likely be refused. you have to take your time and sort things out. there is absolutely no indication of an intent to return home from your ost above and this will bother the VO. indeed you have a great burden to overcome and dont listen to any agent that claims they can guarantee you visa at a cost because simply put, they cannot. these are MRVs and as such, a fake visa wouldnt fly as this was what they used to affix to people's passports.
my advice, should you wish to take it, would be to not apply for now and organize you circumstance and clear your doubts. invitation letters and landed properties, individually, are not mandatory to secure a visa neither is being married nor company employed. ties evaluation is a holistic view and its a combination of factors that helps the VO to make a decision. the money also seems to not be verifiable. people contributing to your trip is not a crime but you have to make it clear to the VO who they are, how they're related and why they are using their precious money to sponsor you (with documents). i am not a VO so i dont know exactly how they make their decisions but you can take a broad view of an applicant's circumstance and make an unbiased guess as to if it might get a positive review. if this guess if positive, you are on the right track. please do take your time so that you will get value for your hard earned money. best of luck

Hello my people. I need a quick response to this question.
An invitation letter and other documents sent from abroad is it supposed to he notarized ? Is it compulsory
hi Seun4FastLoans, dont stress with this as notarizing carries little weight. a VO will place a call to the provided contact should (s)he be unsatisfied with the document but this even rarely happens. just be truthful with your documentation and be very upfront with information. thats all. best of luck

Hello house, there is thus question i need assistance on.
Funds available for my stay (CA)

The issue is that I'm only paying for my air ticket while my accommodation/feeding et al is on the person inviting me.
Thus making it difficult for me to know the amount to fill. I don't want to input figures that will be too small or...

$2000(CAD) or $3000(CAD)?

URGENT PLEASE.
daer feranmi84, please be careful with this. this should be a budget of your trip, summing up what you are contributing and what your host/sponsor is contributing. have your host give you a signed letter with what resources they are contributing to your trip and with how much. be specific with the amount. this will generally depend on how long you intend to stay and 3000 CAD should be more than enough even for a trip to expensive Montreal but be ready to show this funds clearly in your statements or your sponsor's. money is usually not an issue in a US/Canada application unless you're seeking a student visa.my opinion. best of luck

Hello bosses,

Please How Can A Applicant Demonstrate or Phrases to use in SOP To Convince the VO That he will surely comes back to Nigeria after few weeks of Vacationing.

Note both LEAVE Letter and Introduction letter was attached to the Application while applicant is Married and also a Government Civil Servant.

would appreciate your response .

thanks in anticipation
dear Expertman, remember that assessing ties takes a holistic approach. this is why someone with small income can get a visa and someone with much more money wouldn't and also why a single man will be granted but a married man wouldn't even tho the later in the examples seem more attached at home. a statement of purpose actually doesn't carry so much weight if its not backed with appropriate documents. Best way i think an applicant can achieve this is to think of what the VO may be concerned about and explain why those circumstances shouldn't bother them(VOs). example; you can tell the VO you know work is not permitted on a visit visa and explain you have to come back home on specified date to resume a job you have worked for x-years and how the job is in line with the career you're building. every applicant has a different story and everything in your SOP should point the VO to the direction of thought that you are coming back home.my opinion. best of luck.

please enlight me sir/ma, is it possible to secure an unskilled job through a canadian agent without being interviewed by the employer likewise no experience, no certificate and no ielts score are requested by the agent. meanwhile the agent said i will pay $200 for certificate of acceptance in Quebec Canada immediately my employment contract letter is out. please are all these possible so that i won't be scamed. thanks.
hi Azelab, run from that individual. this will not end well. how can you even plan to migrate to Quebec and not speak french? and for a skilled trade job? Quebec is even worse than France. in some parts, you cant get around with English at all. how do you intend to work if you cant communicate? maybe you should review the skilled trade immigrant programs offered by the English speaking provinces and you may be lucky but be ready to do it right. write language exams and arrange all necessary documents. please don't take this approach, it most likely will not end well.if you plan to withhold information or lie, Canada is not the country. my opinion. best of luck.

Good morning Jawa. In fact, I don't know where to start...every time I come on this thread to read comments, I feel a sigh of relief. What I always say is, I've found a twin bro lol. my mind always does pray for you. I often ask while reading your posts that...so I'm not the only one who's always detailed with long explanations here, lol. It's good to know that, despite our very tight schedules, we still are able to help in a way with our experience and if that's the only thing we can do to humanity in a selfless manner, God will always appreciate it. Please keep up the good work. Know this fact Jawa, many will attack, despise, even deride you but please don't be deterred cos there's a reward for what you're doing. Those who benefit from your tips, hints and pieces of advice may not appreciate it but God surely will. Have a great day bro.
Hi Awelekiti, your kind gesture is very well received. thank you. you put in so much time here too. i dont even know if i can ever do as much. my work is hectic and pulls me out of the house even weekends sometimes. i can only do as much as i can. thanks also specially for the tip. people seem to have different reasons to be here but i just want to help and learn in the process.

dear Joe980, i have not experienced this personally. however, if a passport is returned without a visa sticker, the TRV request has been refused. the absent letter is most likely an omission in the part of the visa officer as they are also human. i think she should apply for her GCMS notes to get the detailed reasons for her refusal. before she plans to reapply.good luck

Hello All , How long does it take to get Canada Visa Issued ? I have submitted my application (Paper based) for past 55days and no response yet from the VFS . I am due to travel to US in 10days and i have my ticket already . Its confusing because i read it takes only 2-3weeks to issues TRV Visa ? What do i do ?
dear jay500, sorry for this dilemma, it is a sad one. this may be specifically the situation considered before the online portal was introduced. in my opinion, you have two options;
1) contact the immigration office and request to pull your passport and make your US trip. this pays off sometimes especially if this request comes in when your processing time has well elapsed and can push them to process but i wont bet on that.
2)postpone your US trip if its a completely leisure trip and wont cost too much and continue waiting. this will be particularly painful if the TRV is refused but be positive.
you know your circumstances fully so you will be a better judge of the option that suits you.
best of luck

Hi jawa
Thanks for the previous advice.
I now have all necessary documents, includes a letter of visitation. but i heard i need to get a sponsorship letter and bank statement from someone here, and it could be from my (mother, father, uncle or even a family friend ).
So what should be the content of the letter of sponsorship.
Thanks
hi, please keep your sponsorship to your nuclear family. its always best that way.
the letter should be concise. introducing you in every detail including your DOB and passport number and specifically how much money you are being sponsored with and why. signed by the sponsor with contact details. also include a relationship evidence to the sponsor. maybe their passport data page and if its a parent, your birth certificate clearly showing the names as on the passports. best of luck

Dear sarang, kaptainafrica is only cautioning you. In my opinion, it is a good gesture. We are all here to learn from one another. You cannot deny the fact that this is always a very great burden to overcome. Indeed the instances he gave are plausible and the VO may think of that. You may want to point it out and address that in the explanation letter. If you dont admit it and follow the application one step at a time and very intellectually, it may be refused. Please know that this task is not an easy one. Best of luck.

WebSurfer:
Greetings

I happen to be a cinematographer, programmer and business oriented person with steady income in the past 3 years of which i think i can work with from anywhere around the world without interferance (just that i mostly have to be paid by my Nigerian account)
, I am totally self employed.
Apart from bank statements / Financial reports all these years, i never worked under any company aside being consulted on different Jobs or freelance. so i have no documents to show for that.

I am researching and seeking to relocate to Canada as soon as possible.

Though the agent I am about to use says I should try securing a US visa first but i don't know if maybe it can be acquired directly more easily.

Please can you give a tip or guildiance ?
Hi, if you plan to relocate to canada, you should check out the express entry thread here on nairaland.
That being said, do not be deceived by your agent; a US visa will not guarantee a canadian visa. It will be considered of course but never a guarantee . Many people i know personally have tried this and it backfired. There is only one thing sure from your situation right now and its to get rid of your agent. He's clueless. So if you get a US visa then what? Get to the US maybe travel to deserted North Dakota and sneak into Saskatchewan? Migration is not illegal but its best done the right way or you may be stranded or find yourself sneaking around for a long time. My opinion. Best of luck.

SamReinvented:
Has nothing to do with development. This wouldn't apply us if Nigerians weren't notorious for being dubious, deceptive, blatantly violating visa conditions, and just being plain criminals. If this is what they have to do, to filter out the bad eggs, well don't blame them. It's sad, but then again, through these strict measures, our reputation abroad has been steadily improving in the past years. So I guess, it's kinda win-win for the upright Nigerians afterall
Hi samreinvented, sadly i think development plays a very key role in this regard. Nigeria is one of the three underdeveloped countries that travel and migrate the most. the others are india and pakistan which technically are same people. If your country is developed, you would want to tavel to other places less often. And when you travel, its usually to less developed places.
It is true Nigerians are dubious and flout visa rules but that is not the only reason. If your country is interesting, why would you go somewhere else?
This is my opinion.

Sarang:
I want to invite my boyfriend for a two weeks visit. I will host him. He has 200k in his acct as of now after opening his business (He is an Electrical/Electronics Technician). How much do you think should be in my acct for this support and be considered okay?

Please help anyone

He has a house and shop to his name and grandparents he looks after, we want to use these as home ties.
Dear sarang, a VO's primary concern is with the applicant. His engagement in his home country and what may bring him back. He has to establish himself to the visa officer with documents. For canada and the US, its mostly not the money. You live in canada so you and I know that someone can live in canada for years without notice especially if he has someone there. Its a vastly underpopulated country and the VO knows. His ties seem okay to me but i cant say for the VO. He's trying to establish himself which is a good thing and he has responsibilities. With the right documents he should get it right but a VO might also wander why you're not visiting instead as this seems much more convenient for him. Assess the situation together and get the right answers to the VOs concerns and you're good.
About the money, this will largely depend on how long he's staying and what provinve you reside. With accommodation sorted, maybe consider 50CAD daily set aside for his visit and show an active account and make sure to give him evidence of your accommodation payments for maybe past three months. You cant have too much documents. Best of luck. My opinion always

The issue is, my nigerian international passport bears a different surname than my bank accounts..(just one name the first and middle are the same).
Will it be an issue with the vo or am I good to go?
And if I apply next week, will I get the visa to travel august ending?

Hi desertrose80, this is not a problem at all. Just include official documentation to this effect and explain it in your letter of explanation. About the processing time, its not likely but every application is different. Best of luck

Chelda:
Good day wonderful people,

How are you all doing?

So It's time to travel o, i have been sleeping on google but i would appreciate a direct recommendation or advise from this forum oooo

Please someone should assist me with the most suitable airline to book to Canada at an average rate(civil servant rate if possible) grin

Thanks and God bless you.
Hi chelda, summer travel, in my opinion, is for the rich. I pay for my tickets with hard earned money so i make sure to travel when its cheapest unless for business but i dont compromise on airline unless im experimenting. It would depend on what part of canada you're visiting. If its ontario, and you have a US visa, consider flying to nyc or boston and get a separate connection from there. If its far in mainland like saskatchewan, manitoba or calgary consider flying to Minneapolis then separate connection. If you do not have a US visa however, and you're flying to Ontario still consider flying to Montreal first( airfrance have occasional good deals on this route and air maroc too but air maroc planes are not fine) then separate connection to Toronto Pearson. The trick if that its cheaper to fly to very busy international inflow airports than local inflow airports. If you don't have a US visa dont make the mistake of buying a ticket routed via the US, thats a huge problem so if you're useing an agent, make sure to review the booking before he issues the ticket. Best of luck

Hello all,

Please, does anyone know someone who has applied to visit Canada while still undergoing NYSC and got approved please?

I wanna know if to use this as a tie or not
Hi deejay102, why do you have so much doubt? You know every application is different. People who earn four times my salary get denied visas daily while secondary school students get approved daily. Every application is assessed differently and circumstances differ. Ties evaluation is a wholistic approach. Please make sure you eventually clear these doubts before applying to get value for your money. If you apply for a visa with doubts, it'll hardly come out well. A VO is trained to see through your application. Be patient. Best of luck

Hi Jawa, interesting tips u gave for travel. Any tips to save cost, etc as I'll be going to BC by September?
Hi dimpules8, BC is beautiful. Good choice there. BC is at the west end of canada which is farthest from nigeria and you're traveling at a peak period. Fares aren't always good. Play around with dates close to your departure if the date is not cast in stone and always consider flying to busier airports close by then getting a separate connection. BA have some good deals (very short windows and they're hard to track) and check late nights and always make sure you have your browser on incognito or private(not sure how that works). If you're a student, dont even waste your money; get egyptair to Toronto and buy a one way ticket pearson to Vancouver and make sure to buy all ahead of time. Egypt air dont have fine planes(worst airline i ever flew) but you'll get there and save alot and for the local air canada flight, have your earphones handy or you'll have to buy one or gaze at your IFE screen for over 4 hours. My opinion

[quote author=ifymeme post=57230159]One more thing jawa, my sister inlaw applied for canada TRV(last year) via online which was refused. She used an agent for her application which I strongly adviced her against but she insisted. The problem is that the agent made some mistakes while filling her TRV Application Form eg she was refused US visa in 2010 while she was a student in England but she subsequently got the visa and have travelled to the US alot of times. The agent checked NO instead of YES to if she has been refused visa previously. She has since made another application this year and answered yes for having been refused US visa in 2010 but her problem is that the VO will ref to her previous application where she checked No. She also mention in her LOE that she used an agent in her previous application and that the mistake was from him that it wasn't deliberate. having mentioned that she used an agent in her pervious application which was refused will it affect the outcome of her new application.

hi, in my opinion, mentioning it in her explanation letter will go a long way coupled with the fact that she later got the US visa. the VO really doesn't care and may not believe the agent story as there are declarations about honest form completions applicants are obliged to sign. in this situation, she is purely at the mercy of the VO because even if a ban(typically 5 years)was issued for misrepresentation in accordance with the immigration laws, it would have well elapsed. she should have gotten her GCMS notes which would have clarified things too she she knows in details why her application was refused. if her application was done right, she wouldn't be refused because of the 2010 mistake.
my opinion always. best of luck

Hi jawa, please I have a question. I applied for canada TRV on the 27th of April 2017 paper application. I have a valid American visa which i have not used yet, got the visa June last year. In the canada visa application I didn't mention I would be visiting America in my trip itinerary. My fear is would the VO have doubts as to why I haven't visited America yet since I have a valid American visa and and seeking for a Canadian visa.now I intend to go to NYC for a few days while i'm on holiday in canada I didn't mention this in my canada application cos i just decided on that.I really regret not mentioning it in my canada application. Please note I have been to the US before with a previous visa.
hi ifymeme, every application is different and on its own merits.with a simple request, the VO already knows about your US history and may have foreseen this plan you just concluded on. you mentioned you applied via paper route meaning your passport is included in your application. the VO will see the US visa and note that. however, a US visa will not guarantee a canadian visa(should influence but not guarantee) whether used or not. i know people personally who have valid US visas, traveled multiple times before applying for a canadian TRV and it was refused. dont stress it, VOs understand plans change. last year, i had planned in an application to visit saskatoon and Calgary international as my POE. work happened and i didnt have any space. eventually traveled november via Pearson intl in Toronto on egyptair because lufthansa wanted to kill me with pricing on the calcary route.
my opinion is, your application has already been made, you cant really change it. just keep your fingers crossed, regret nothing and pray it goes well so you can cross over and over in Niagara falls and chop life.
alternatively, you can email them about this new plan and its details and see how that goes. best of luck

Hi jawa
Please i'm new here, i'm a Nigerian schooling in Ghana.
i want to apply for a visiting visa to canada.
i have a valid international passport, an introductory letter from my school, invitation letter, bank details and document to show that she is a Canadian citizen, all from the person i'm going to visit ( my step mum)... please what documents do i need to get my visa... i'm planning on going for summer July- September because i have to resume school.
thanks.
dear unclerukus666, in my opinion, you seem to be relying on your step-mum's ties to canada to secure a visa. this is a wrong approach and may not end well. as a visitor, your duty is to demonstrate to the VO that you are established at home and that it is indeed a temporary visit permit you seek. the timing of your application may be late if you plan to travel int the planned period. basic documents you may need as a student;
a well drafted letter of introduction explaining why you're making this trip, the plans you've made to handle all sectors the VO would be interested in including, but not limited to; accommodation, transportation, funding, travel history, why this trip is to be made to Canada and most importantly why you cannot abandon your studies and disappear.
all CIC forms duly completed and signed
your international passport
documents to backup accommodation, transport, money(account statement), sponsorship letter(very detailed including your name, DOB, passport number and specifically how much you're sponsored with), school introduction letter properly endorsed and possibly your academic transcripts.you must also show evidence that this woman is your step mum.
keep your application truthful. Best of luck

@Awelekiti and @Jawa, please what do you advise? I'm waiting on your reply before I send the e-mail. Thank you.
Hi SamReinvented, please make your letter concise and straight to the point. state your application ID as part of the subject for easier tracking. introduce yourself properly and go straight to the modifications you request. you can also attach the document as evidence. don't stress or lose sleep over this as your application cannot be refused because of it. it is a minor error and a VO would understand.
Best of luck.

Good Morning house please I need urgent suggestions I want to apply for a tourist visa but I don't have an invitation letter, though i have a friend in canada she only sent me her address that i should indicate it as where I would be staying in canada that i don't necessarily need an invitation letter to visit that d her address is enough with her phone number incase d visa officer want to ask her anything they would call .please I just want to know if it's the right step .although I have been to Canada last year on visit visa but the visa is expired now .
dear Gracey31, do not forget that an invitation is not mandatory to secure a visit visa. since you have been to canada before (i assume you did the previous application yourself too) it should be easier to convince a VO that you'll still come back as you have demonstrated that earlier. gather your documents intellectually and in your LOE, explain to the VO the things you liked about their country and why you'd like to visit again but never forget to reiterate to him/her the fact that this is your home country and you cant abandon it.
Best of luck.

Omolewa101:
Good morning house. I want to apply for a US visit Visa, to travel in August. I just wanna go on vacation with my friend who already has a visa and maybe buy stuff for my work. I'm a crafts person. What would I need to tender. I have a registered business. Tho it's a small business not up to one year registered.. How much do I need in my account, and do I need hotel bookings and invitation letter? My friend already has accommodation and I can share with her. Thanks
Hi omolewa101, you're in luck. if you're honest and established, the US visa is one of the easiest visas to obtain as their VOs are absolutely not interested in your documents. just fill out a ds160, schedule an appointment and attend interview composed. head to the US visit visa thread here on nairaland to learn from other people's experiences https://www.nairaland.com/2656320/usa-visit-visa-part-2

deejay102:
Hello all,

Please I need guidance and advise now. I recently married a Canadian PR here in Nigeria. I intend to apply to visit her. Her work didn't allow us much time here after marriage so I want to visit to spend more time. I also have dual intent ( staying back) with my spouse. I am visiting because its faster than any other category of visa.
My dilemma now is how do I prove ties to Nigeria?
I am a fresh graduate, still serving, no job.
I have siblings here, retired parents, dad has one property which I'm entitled to which I hope to include as ties.

Please advise me as to how to prove ties further based on the information provided. I am entirely truthful with all I've said. Thanks

dear deejay102, ties to home country are what VOs are looking out for. it is good to be honest here but a VO is specifically trained to weigh your connection to your home country and the reason for your visit and judge if the applicant will come back. i neither know how they're trained nor how they judge circumstances around an application but you already have doubts. this means your application will most likely be refused. your ties are limited and apparently the most important thing/person in your life now is in canada. the VO knows about this.
why would you want to stay back on a visit visa anyway? this is the 21st century and things dont work easily that way anymore. you cannot work legally on a visit visa and canadians are too loyal as they will ask to see a work permit even for the flimsiest of jobs. you dont have medicals covered as a visitor and as an overstay, if you get into a situation and end up in a hospital, it may be from there to detention then airport for deportation. if you hear police siren, you heart will skip. you cannot open a bank account or dive a car because once you get pulled over its a problem and if you eventually get deported, you can kiss Canada, US, UK, Australia and Newzealand bye for at least 5 to 10 years as they use a very cooperative immigration history system.
my advice is to clear your doubts before applying. if your nysc is significant, use it as a tie. if the land can be yours or shown to be yours in the future, get documented evidence. maybe finish nysc and get a job, preferably in line with what you studied and work for a while. maybe have your wife visit again and take more pictures with a camera that imprints date in pictures. also have pictures from her previous visit and the wedding. you have a great burden to overcome so throw at it all the evidence you've got. relevant evidence i mean.
best of luck.you need it.
