VACCINATION PROGRAM FOR LAYERS
Vaccination is very important in livestock production, especially in poultry production. Poultry farmers should vaccinate their flock (broiler, pullets, layers, turkeys, duck, geese etc.) against diseases to avoid losing them to these diseases and preventing high financial loss. Vaccination, in addition to proper farm hygiene and sanitation practice enables you as a farmer to prevent diseases from taking over your flock, allowing you to get the best out of your animals and also producing wholesome or safe meat for human consumption.

One thing i have observed over the years about deworming layers is that it leads to a drop in egg production for some days but will pick up back to normal if the birds are ok and also note that adequate care, cleaning and changing of litter regularly in deep liter system helps laying birds to perform better, also note that noise, heat, overfeeding, too much light also leads to low egg production it is ideal to give 18 hours day light for birds let say 6am in the morning to 10pm at night, also note that forcing layers to lay earlier can lead to adverse effects on egg production. Hmmmmmmm my little piece of advice
To start with every business has it up and down what matters is the Technical Know How before venturing into any business know the good and bad side of it and to people who are afraid of going into poultry business because of the risk involved then i will like to convince you with my little knowledge, the truth is every business has it own risk though they differ, and some people go into poultry business because a friend of theirs is making money from it they too will run to the nearest hatchery and buy birds without making neccessary consultation and after 2 weeks they open a thread to tell us how they loose over 200 birds, see before going into any business have a plan B to tackle lapses in your plan A. I can say that I have been handling over 600 broilers for the past 6 years and the highest mortality recorded so far is just 6% 2 years ago due to too much heat during brooding while I was away. In conclusion life itself is a risk, while sleeping every night did you know you are taking risk? What gives you the assurance that you will wakeup the following morning? Driving your car around the town is a risk What Makes you so sure that you will return home safely? e.t.c though there is what we call calculated risk and Senseless Slaughter I will advise you to go for whatever business you know you can handle and take a calculated risk because life itself is a risk on it own. @ Jofez that's part of the risk in poultry business, i will need a clear picture of one of the sick birds, i have some questions to ask you
1. How is reliable is the farm you bought those point of lay birds from?
2. Did you ask of their past vaccination program?
3. Did you observe your birds on daily basis?
4. At 21 weeks do you vaccinate them?
5. I guess you are on a deep liter system how often do you turn and change your liter material?
6. Is your poultry house well ventilated?
7. Did you de-worm them?
8. How often did you adhere to your bio-security measures?
9. Did you have an isolation space on your farm and dis you isolate sick birds as soon as you notice them?

Before coming here to advertise myself on feed formulation i have been into poultry farming since 2007 while still in secondary school and i don't think there is anything bad in advising people to take bio-security measures seriously am using my project as a reference point and when it comes to feed i believe am an expert in that area although am still learning I have a software for poultry feed formulation the software has various conventional and non-conventional feedstuffs parameters so all i have to do is to ask my prospective customers the available feedstuffs in their area and my software will take care of the rest, i will give out the percentage of each ingredients to be mixed, i will also give out the ME (Kcal/Kg) content, the crude protein content, the crude fibre content e.t.c and to further butress my work i will take the compounded feed to the laboratory for proximate analysis. I believe if you know how to compound yourself you can turn non-conventional feedstuffs like burukutu waste, maize offal, rice offal, palm kernel cake, wheat offal e.t.c and some conventional feedstuffs like maize, soybean meal or soy bean full fat, e.t.c into Animal feed and it will meet the nutrients requirement of the birds at a low cost. Imagine raising a 2.7Kg broiler bird for just 900 to 1100 naira and selling your birds out for 1500 to 2000 or more i know some people will claim it is not possible to raise a broiler at that price but expertise in poultry will tell you it is possible. Thanks for the advice there is no end to learning am still learning too, because where you think is your peak of knowing or knowledge is another man's starting point.

This may not be the best time for me to write
on this because of misinterpretations, but I
can no longer resist the push.
"Husband Scarcity" has become one of the
challenges faced by many young girls today.
If you go to prayer houses, majority of the
intentions are prayer for a life partner. And
this calls for concern.
Casting our minds back to the time of our mothers and grandmothers, was there really
much of a "Husband Scarcity" problem?
Or, maybe there were more men than women
then, or there was an adequate
corresponding
numbers of both genders.
I don't think so.
Maybe then, the women had values and were
prepared to build a home and not park into a
built home. Then, once a young man comes
of age and can at least feed himself and his
wife, he goes out in search of a wife and the
woman really appreciates him and helps him
to build a future.
What am I really trying to say?
We created what we now see as "Husband
Scarcity" for ourselves.
Today, the reverse is the case.
Ask an average girl to define her dream
husband; you get things like "he has to be tall,
handsome, fair, and rich, own a house at
least, and be presentable" and then she adds
"God fearing" in order not to sound so
worldly.
Then, check the number of girls around you
and the number of men that meet that
standard, and
you will see the problem.
You hear girls say,
"I cannot suffer in my father's house and then go and start suffering with a man."
What a wonderful dream! What if from the
beginning, you have everything you want and
there is no suffering, and later in the
marriage, the table turns around, then comes
suffering?
Will you run away?
No one prays for suffering, but it
is good to start small and end big, than start
big and end small.
The problem is that the description majority
of girls give of their ideal man is virtually thesame.
When 50 girls want the same kind
of man and the man that fits what they want
is just 1 man, and the man can only pick one.
Then, what becomes of 49 others? They
simply start lamenting of "Husband Scarcity".
Another irony of our time is that it is hard,
due to the face of our economy to find a man
who is of marriage age who possesses all
those things these ladies want, legally (except
those involved in Internet fraud);
even the number of those in Internet fraud is
not enough to match all those searching for already made husbands.
If you look around, majority of
the ladies of substance, of good value and
virtue, who are ready to build a home with a
man who has prospects, are married and not
complaining of husband scarcity. The easiest
way to find a
husband now, is to change your view of who
a husband is.
A husband is that man God made
and then saw that it may be hard for him to really actualize his purpose for making him,
without a help mate and then made the
woman and gave to him, and he felt complete
and fulfilled.
MARRIAGE IS NOT A POVERTY ALLEVIATION
PROGRAM.
It is a mission of building the family of God
here on earth.
For those who see marriage as a way out of
poverty, it is a way into bondage.
Women are HOME BUILDERS, not HOME WARMERS...
DON'T CONFUSE A MAN'S PATH WITH HIS

WHAT MAKES A MAN WHO HE IS, IS NOT WHAT
HE OWNS OR HOW HE
LOOKS, IT IS WHAT HE IS MADE UP OF.
And that which he is made of is, most times,
not seen with the physical eyes, only its effects can be seen.
Marriage is a permanent thing. Whatever is
seen is temporal and that which is not seen is
permanent.
Relax and go to God in prayer.
God did not just make Eve for making sake: He made her for Adams need to be met.
God did not just make you for making sake either ( unless he has a special calling on you) he made you to meet a particular man's need AND THAT MAN MAY BE THAT ONE THAT DOESN'T FIT INTO THAT YOUR " EXORBITANT STANDARD". Do not despise or look down on any man because it doesn't take God a second to turn around someone destiny. A Man can be very poor by December, then God might choose to bless him and make him rich by January.
But never marry a man without Gods confirmation, so that you can confidently run back to him whenever Satan wants to raise his ugly head.
