Agriculture › Re: Broiler Feed Finisher Formula For Poultry Farmers by jay7(op): 6:07am On Dec 28, 2019 |
Abuloma80: Jay7 you are wonderful. Feed formulas are so greedily hidden, not wanting to share or some charge a huge amount before giving, yet here you are giving out one of the most sort formula (finisher). Because this the stage at which broilers feed more. And for the fact that feed constitute about 70% of the cost of raising broilers, this is a huge savings you are giving to farmers.
Though this topic was in 2016 but the prices may be a little be different currently, not withstanding one can make a bag of 25kg at about N3,000 as against market price of N3,600 over here in Kaduna. A saving of N600 per bag is huge. Imagine if on is to buy a ton of feed (40 bags) saving on feed alone will be N24,000 which is fantastic.
For a farmer that is into 1000 broilers may use a total of 150 bags, (savings in feed will be about N60,000). This very pleasing and encouraging. Once more thanks for sharing Jay7. Thanks for the compliment |

DexterousOne: There is dignity in Labour
A basic truth most Nigerians refuse to believe There is dignity in labour but one thing with we Nigerians is we want everyone to see things our own way and one's the person deviate we start ranting, everyone cannot work in the bank, everyone cannot ride okada and everyone cannot work as a federal government or state government staff. Find what works for you and do it, my friend today is not a millionaire but he made his little thousand from Okada riding and after 3 years he only rides okada in the evening now because he will be on the farm supervising his workers in the morning. He is not there yet but he is getting closer and if he had looked down at riding Okada in 2016 he might still be job hunting today. Let people laugh at you but be dedicated and focused, pray and learn to keep some money aside for a better tomorrow, I am a farmer and a transporter so I know what am saying. Thanks |

pocohantas: And Nairalanders should get realistic,
I come on NL and read how bikers, truck drivers...etc are making 5000 daily, 50k weekly, 100 weekly. I am not saying some are not earning that much- but how come their kids are still being chased out of schools? The men run away after their wives put to bed in hospitals. That is till good Nigerians come to their aids.
Anyone in Seyi's shoes can do better, but such person should look before leaping. All these motivational speakers can push someone into putting hand for fire Truly it happens, once you live above your means and you didn't plan well, things like that are bound to happen. There is a difference between Huzzling to survive and huzzling as a means to a better life. Most transpoters spend the little they make daily lavishly because they know daily money will surely come in tomorrow and when faced with family expenses they run because know savings. And even civil servants that doesn't plan well too would still run. |

Kittex7: Imagine the kind cold wey the bike man go pack for that chest b4 him make 5k in a day. Be sure him go wake by 4am to start work Yes the bike man will be face with cold truly but if he plan well and all things been equal in 3-4 years he may choose to drop Okada and venture into something else from his little savings, I can tell you that if you are the owner of your bike and you know what you are doing, you can be saving 800-1000 everyday, monday to Saturday then you rest on Sunday and you will still feed your family, pay rent and pay your children school fee. 1000 every Monday to Saturday is 6,000 and for four weeks is 24,000 let's say you can maintain that standard for a year you would have upto 200,000 and let's say challenges came up you will still have half of that money somewhere. The mistake we make mostly we youths is that we want to start today and make it big today that's why people over worked themselves. Life is not a competition, do not compete with anyone, plan your life, pray, be dedicated and don't ever compare your life with anyone. And for you saying a bike man or cab man don't earn much, please don't argue what you don't know, a man collecting 80,000 after transportation and feeding and savings for rent might be left with 30,000 savings and a bike man or cab man would do all the above and still has a savings more tham that monthly, for you saying there is know dignity in driving okada or cab, if there are know riders and cab driver how would you get to your destination if you don't have your private car? Everyone out there huzzling is rendering one important service to the community, from a gateman to a biker, to a cab man, policemen, bankers, people running canteen and restaurants e.t.c let's learn to appreciate ourselves. Thanks |

Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by jay7(m): 3:44pm On Sep 21, 2019 |
Jesusbabygirl: Okay, let me try...In the world of finance, rates are stated per annum mostly. So, first know that whatever rate you are told for t-bills is per annum. Now, the reason for higher rate with longer tenor (e.g. 13% for 364 but 10% for 90days) is because longer tenors carry more financial risks (risk of currency devaluation, inflation, basic economic stuff that drive purchasing power) and so the investor gets compensated for that risk he/she is taking on.
Now, let me use some numbers to explain so that, hopefully, it is more intuitive... Following your thought that 10% should not be divided by 4, it means the bank pays you N300K on N3Million for investing for 90 days While they pay someone else that invests that same N3 million for a whole year at 13% N390K Now, you will go back and get N300K 3 more times that year making your total interest N1.2 million (4*N300K) So, you make N1.2 million while the other person makes N390K. Why will anybody invest for a year then and not for 90 days or even daily and get maybe 6% per day?
I hope you understand now, that is sort of the best way I know to explain it. Thanks this is a detailed explanation, seriously you will make a good teacher. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by jay7(m): 10:48am On Sep 21, 2019 |
Jesusbabygirl: To answer your questions: 1) what do you mean by viable? you mean genuine or what? 2) 10% is per annum, so for 90 days it is 300k* (90/365) = ~74k 3) there are no losses in tb. if you terminate before the expiration, they will pay interest up to the date you have it invested till. So if they paid you the 74k interest, that is with the assumption that you will leave the money invested for the 90 days. If you now bring story after 30 days and request they terminate it, then they have to collect back part of the 74k they already paid you. Hope you understand. Sorry am not getting this your analysis you said 10% is per annum, and there are 3 fixed rates for 91days 185days and 365days so why will they divide again if for example 91 days tenor is 10%. Please explain and I would be glad if gurus can put more light. Let's say I have 150,000 to invest for 91days and interest rate for 91days is 10% what is my profit at the end of 91days. Thanks as you educate me more. |

Thanks @ Dynamix101 you are a rare gem, doing justice to pig farming, pig farming is lucrative but time demanding and if you are the passionate type, you can improve on your breed yourself. Swine don't easily go down like that if you follow your biosecurity very well. It is not a get rich quick scheme like MMM, the more you raise properly the more your profit, my friend has just 4 sow and one exotic breed and he is making his little change from breeding. |

Everything else after that na connection. Bolaji wey read Animal Husbandry now na manager for Mobil. Family › Re: Should I Stay With My Parents And Invest Or Should I Leave? Advice Needed by jay7(m): 5:29am On Jul 13, 2019 |
Everyone who has contributed really tried, I will like to say this there is know single rule to living a fulfilled life, what works for Mr. A might not work for Mr. B under the same environment and under the same condition. @ OP you should know what will work for you,.some people are saying one can stay back and build one's house well it's good but is it the 120k per year rent is going to build with within a year?? Even if you pay 150k per year for rent it would take 10 years to save 1.5million and is it 1.5million one will build with? Or will someone who is 28 years old wait for longer years just to build his own house before moving out? Am saying this because whether you stay on your own or with your parent, your earning or side huzzle will go along way to help build your own apartment and both ways you will still spend each month. And again building one own personal house is good but personally to me building is majorly for retirement, I saw the stress people go through to build there own apartment all in the name of not wanting to pay yearly rent only to subject themselves to more stress, imagine someone working in Lagos and building in Mowe, such person will have to go through traffic stress almost everyday, why not rent the Mowe house out and use the money to rent a house close to your place of work. I know people will call for my head on this but I want us to know that building ones personal house doesn't stop one from been a tenant elsewhere. Like I said earlier what works for Mr. A might not work for Mr. B, just live your life and make sure you plan ahead, work and pray towards it, don't use someone's else life to judge your own. If your peers become successful at 25 years rejoice with them and wait for your own time. Don't rush and don't see yourself as a failure. Before you go into any business please take out your time to learn about it very well and do a business that taking stock will be very easy. I wish you all the best OP. |

Mrjuice: My side huzzle is within..
I am serving in a small secured village with good road network, I don't pay rent & I don't board bike coz it is a small village
Before I went for Nysc I have already made up my mind to save 10k each month + 55k state allawee ( state allawee is 11months).
When I got posted to my ppa I got along well with the old corpers who told how they operate.. School is understaffed & I held my ground that I will only take one class(ss1, physics) which the principal reluctantly agreed.
Side Huzzle? I am earning 10k each from 2 ghosting npower teachers , started since November to this month
Feeding? I buy food in bulk that will last me for the full month...(sometimes it will take me to the 2nd week of the following month)
Beans: 1 & half custard bucket = 1500 Rice: 1 bucket = 1500 Garri: 4 bucket =2000 other things = 200 2bags of sachet water for a week =220 I cut my hair 2x in a month = 500 Cash at hand for each month =4k Filling of 5kg gas =1750( I fill once in 2 months) Data sub= 12k
Don't forget I was paid 26k as an inec adhoc staff during the general election
Abeg I don tire to type Thanks for explaining, it will definitely help others because mere looking at the initial post, I know it's impossible without side huzzle. |
