respect80:Thanks, you know there is know end to learning and it's always good to know little about other courses. |
Mrjuice:Please I will like to know the side huzzle you add to make you spend above all Nysc has in stock for you because with your analysis 19800*12=237600. State Allowance of 5k =60k for 12 months which know state pays more than 10 or 11 months, so 237600+60000=297,600. From what you have now 70,000 laptop plus 40,000 you send to your friend =110,000 plus the 180,000 you have it will be 290,000, mind you I know you haven't been paid the last 41,100 and I have already included it in my calculations. So tell me don't you eat, buy things throughout your service year ? |
respect80:Lolz tnks but I graduated from a University few years back, and the question above is for HND1 |
Fadomero:Please read again, the answer should align with the question. |

Excesslove222:You are welcome, just keep encouraging him and always know that plans can change anytime, once you have this at mind, you won't be hurt whenever such happens. |
zeb04:Sorry did you read from the first page because if you do, you won't be arguing the Op is not angry because her husband won't be able to provide all you listed above, she is angry because the husband did not stick to the initial plan of buying a family car or starting a family business. You said his masters can wait for the next 2 years and who told you responsibilities won't be pilling up in 2 years time? Masters won't stop him for providing for the family according to the OP. |
Excesslove222:Excesslove222 I understand your plight and I know how it hurts to have a change of plan but actually car is a necessity at the same time a liability, A necessity in the sense that the said car brings in income and satisfaction and a liability if all the car does is take money out of your purse, you will understand this when the car start demanding. Masters shouldn't have much effect on the purchase of the said car, for example University of Ibadan and other federal universities don't pay that much, acceptance and tuition fee for we science student (Agric) is around 170,000 and the next payment is half of what you paid as tuition fee for the first time, which is not even upto the 500,000 loan he took before the wedding, other faculties pay less and some higher. Support his ambition, cars can be stolen, damaged e.t c but his masters degree might fetch the family more cars later in life, truly Nigeria is not encouraging at the moment but people are still making it with their certificate and moreover you will be surprise that after purchasing the vehicle your husband might not always be around to take you out, which might cause another argument especially whenever he is out with the car and you needed to go somewhere with the kids, you might resort to using public transport. Just try and understand him and keep supporting him who knows his certificate might found it purpose after his masters degree. |
@ OP it's simple if you want to pursue both fine, you can make a time table for yourself. Let's say out of the 7 days that makes a week you give 3 days to your academic work then from Thursday to Sunday you face your online business. One thing I realize is that self happiness matters, during exams or 3 weeks to exam you face you academic work squarely then after exams you go back to your time table. I am an M.Sc student of Animal Production and Management. I do drive cab to sponsor myself but I have a time table to that effect, I know when to read and when to huzzle though it's not easy but determination is all you need. I am not doing it with the motive of working for someone to get peanut as salary, I am doing it because know one knows what might happen tomorrow, like I said we all have our goals and aspirations in life, if you felt dropping out is the best for you fine but whatever you are getting now please invest it on something different from that online business of yours because some online business do Bleep one up, I am a living witness of Fiverr Account deportation and Account suspension. Thanks |
Mopricelezz:Go to PG School, locate their IT unit and complain to them am sure something will be done to rectify that, attaching external passport is not the solution. |
Her story sound nice but one thing I want us to know is that everyone can't be a millionaire or billionaire, if you are struggling legitimately please don't be intimidated, the same business Taiwo does and becomes successful, Kehinde might run at a loss doing the same business. Everyone needs a destiny helper to help raise them, when commitment meets with opportunity it results into success. Her 3rd class degree is not what makes her successful rather she meets with her destiny helper. Lots of people have business ideas including myself but where is the finance to pursue it?? In Nigeria of today if you have 200,000 savings from your normal small huzzle you really tried because it's not easy. Am speaking from experience after my university degree and know sound job I have to settle for cab driving and to have savings at the end of everyday you must huzzle hard, now tell me if someone decided to buy 2 vehicles for me and I gave it out for daily delivery or higher purchase won't I come back here someday to say I employ people to work for me too? Everyone needs a destiny helper and once you find yours please use the opportunity very well. Am happy for her but please don't be intimidated by anyone's success story, keep huzzling and keep praying we are not there now but we will be there someday. |
Well the truth is that the pay ain't much but there is job security and you can apply for a loan to fund your business ideas if you have any and your collateral will be your salary, so minus or plus federal or state government is still ok. |
frank317:Well I read most of your replies before typing my own, yes people ain't finding it funny marrying on such salaries then how much more someone who is jobless ? Since you know this, your post should rather encourage we guys to have at least something doing and at least set our priorities right before venturing into marriage, at least a man who earns 40k in south west Nigeria will be able to feed the wife and a kid or two averagely. In one of your replies you stated that when you were earning "80k" you couldn't marry with that, then how will a jobless man cope if he marries without any means of livelihood Fine I am not saying a man should be a millionaire before marriage but he should at least have something doing to care for the lady and their children. |
frank317:Seriously 40k is something as long as d lady is working too, my brother in Nigeria you just have to cut your clothe according to your size, did you know that some federal government staff on level 8 step 2 salary earn 49k monthly Example ministry of labour and the worst part is that you can be on that same salary scale for 4 years. Before you term me a liar please do your research or check this for more info. Thanks https://www.currentschoolnews.com/articles/federal-civil-service-commission-salary-structure/ |
ChikezieU:I like ur writeup and for Op, marriage is a thing of the mind, you are to decide yourself, know amount is enough for marriage and those using there friends or family as a case study should know that people are different, some people after marriage run from the job that has been feeding them just because they felt the job is dirty or not fit for a married man, forgetting that they can stick to the job and save up to start their own little business and again it is not everyone thay has investment ability, I may complain that 50,000 is too small to start a business and someone somewher just need half of that to start his/her own business, why am saying this is that life is in stages and faces one man's poisonous job is another man's glorious job, know one here on Nairaland truly knows your worth or stand, you said you are just building your business, is your business a fast moving one and is there room for expansion it depends on your type of business, hw much you make as profit daily, weekly or monthly, and again you didn't tell us if you are staying with your parent or you have your own rentend apartment. Wedding is not a day program it can be a month or 6 months from now. I will advice you use the money on you to expand your business or probably reinvest it into another profitable venture, then you can start preparing for marriage. Most people here shouting its a No No don't have upto 10,000 savings monthly so they based their judgement on that, follow your mind and I wish you all the best. |
I saw this info on our group chat for those whose admission was subjected to remedial.

@ OP people has really advise you on what to do, I believe you will choose the best advice and work on it. My take is this living on your own is good but the first principle is cutting your coat according to the available material, I served 2016 batch B and I told myself that I will not return to my father's house as a tenant but as a visitor, Though my dad is late now and may his soul rest in perfect peace. I left Katsina state immediately after POP for Ibadan and I must say things were rough at first, mind you I am from Kogi State and I stay with my friend for just 2 weeks while looking for my own apartment, I rented a single room even when I have Upto 80,000 to rent a self contain, I did this just to start from the scratch and again I have to sleep on the carpet for a month even when I have the money to buy a mattress but I choose to save the money for feeding and other things, presently I am living an average life and I must say God has been faithful and to those saying 30,000 is small, I pray your story don't change for the worse, 70% of people around me earn less than that and they are managing their life, if you based your life on what you read on social media you will think you are leaving a miserable life but 85% of people telling you 30,000 is smaller are praying silently to earn upto that. Just stay focused, set a target for yourself, be contend with what you have and most importantly learn to help others from the little you earn and I can assure you that with dedication and hardwork you will look back and smile. |

orobs93:Solar panel and inverters has different capacities, money at hand will determine the one you can get if you can afford a 3.5kva or more solar inverter it can power your appliances e.g deep frezer, tv, fan e.t.c. |
sluk:Well I was told they are sharing beneficiaries into group with four different commercial banks, and once they are true we should expect disbursement. Thanks |
Patience is all we need, let's give it a benefit of doubt, if the grant finally comes its to our own advantage and if it doesn't come then we move on afterall it's better to try and fail than not to try anything at all. |
@ OP it's nice starting up something with what you have, and Great minds has already giving you all you need to run a successful farm, but I must add some for you, when you see your birds panting its definitely means they need more air/ventillation, you can also buy vitalyte or glucose it's very useful. When you see them sneezing it means the wood shavings might be dusty or CRD, when you see blood poo is means coccidiosis and the first thing to do is to change the litter materials immediately and make sure you avoid wet litter and change immediately it gets wet or dirty. The reason for having a cross ventilation in a poultry pen is not only for heat stress, but to also help you maintain a well and proper litter material. I hope you look into your ventilation issue because you are dealing with broiler's and heat stress is not something you would pray to know its effect. Thanks |
I am also interested in renting/leasing a bet9ja shop in an open/crowded place in Ibadan, if you have any please whatsapp me on 08069577231 |
I believe your boyfriend will have one or two business ideas, kindly ask him and do a background check on any of the business he has in mind and choose the most easiest and profitable one. Thanks |
agslow:200 broiler's will eat 14 bags of starter diet for 28 days that is 4 weeks and will eat about 35-39 bags upto 10 weeks depending on your target weight, you can calculate for brooding, vaccines, drugs and other miscellaneous cost on your own. Thanks |
Timblaze:Thanks. |
Timblaze:Please am still expecting your call or whatsapp on 08069577231. So I can ask you some questions. Thanks |
KULENPA:I hope my replying is not coming late, with what you explain its probably CRD, work to a good Vet shop around you and ask them the best drug to use, I hope it helps |
