*OPEN LETTER TO NYSC, ACCESS BANK AND CONCERNED CITIZENS.*

(From an Aggrieved NYSC Corps Member)

We are Batch B, Stream 1 NYSC Corps member currently serving in Katsina State. We wish to write of the exploitation, shady deals and inconvenience Access Bank are putting us through.

During registration in Camp, we were told to compulsorily open a new account with Access Bank (the only bank that came to camp). And just like everybody else we did, despite informing the Access Bank staffs that some were operating an Access Bank account already. (We would leave the bad attitude, gum-chewing and gossip engrossed response of the staff for another day).

Some days to the camp, we saw alerts for our 'allowee' - 19,800 naira. Only to realise later that 1,300naira was deducted for ATM Card without an alert from them. This was the first sign of exploitation and fraudulence. Why?
- an ATM Card is charged for 1000 naira, Where did the additional 300 naira come from? Whose pocket did it go?
- why were we not duly alerted of the deduction?

So, camp closed and we all went back to our homes to prepare for proper PPA resumption. Only for some of us to receive SMS that transactions on our accounts have been stopped due to BVN and signature related issues. The inconveniences this caused left many of us stranded. All due to negligence of Access Bank staffs.

Furthermore, within the last 10 days, we have been bombarded with different types of charges, draining an already insufficient 19800 naira.
- Card maintenance fee: 1100 naira
- Monthly Admin processing fee: 105 naira

Wetin dem dey maintain? After deducting 1300 naira?

State no pay, PPA no pay.....still on top 19800 we go chop, pay rent, transport, buy data, keep body together.
Allowee don finish before e enter sef.

Now the 19800 is being threatened by familiar foes.

As Corps Members, we expect the NYSC to push for discounted initiatives for us, not cut-throat instances we have now.

We appeal to NYSC and Access Bank management to free us from these shackles.

Our vow is in sun and rain.
Not in exploitation and corruption.

Where did you get your birds from? Did you raise the birds from day old or you buy point of lay birds?
If the birds source is good and you follow the normal procedure then you have nothing to worry about your birds will still lay and again if you are practicing deep litter system please provide the birds with a laying nest.

I am happy for you and I pray God bless your huzzle but please like others has advised take your bio-security very serious which include clearing those grasses am seeing close to the poultry pen to avoid rodents and snake, then make sure you finish the poultry house at least two(2) weeks before you finish your brooding so that you will be able to wash and disinfect the pen at least twice to break any chain of disease the materials use in constructing the pen might has, also change your litter materials immediately they are dirty or wet to prevent Coccidiosis and has for the feeding Grower mash is not meant for Broiler. 500 birds should eat at least 35 to 38 bags of broilers starter diet for the first four weeks and 70 to 75 bags of broilers finisher diet for another four weeks to make it 8 weeks. feed your birds in the morning and in the evening, give the birds clean water in the morning and in the evening, try everything possible to avoid feed wastage and always know that prevention is better than cure, treat those birds like a baby and you will be surprise with your level of success after everything.

You can construct the type of feeder in the applied picture to reduce feed wastage.

Just look around you and check out for mini poultry house so that you will know how to construct a low cost poultry house, let's say 50,000 for the construction and 100,000 for raising 100 birds for two months.

Did you have a land and a building I mean a poultry pen, because that is the starting point. If you have a pen ready then with 150,000 you should raise 90 to 100 layers with the present hike in feed price

Sorry I presume it Coccidiosis and if not manage on time it will affect your birds but I will ask you few questions and also tell you what to do.

Goto any reputable vet or livestock drug store and buy Pantacox or Amprolium, use it as prescribed by the producer, please check the expiry date of any drug before using.

now to the question

1. how often did u turn your litter materials?
2. how often did you change your litter materials?
3. have you been giving any Anti-cocidial to your birds before?
4. is there adequate ventilation in your pen to dry wet litter?

No it's a different one this type of groundnut cake oil has been extracted and it can be gotten from the North especially Kaduna.

I have shared this before so I think re-sharing it will be of help to someone.

Maize=44Kg
Soybean Full Fat=34Kg
Groundnut Cake=2kg
Brewer Dry Grain=12Kg
Maize Offal=4kg
Bone Meal=3Kg
Methionine=0.25Kg
Lysine=0.25Kg
Vitamin/Mineral Premix=0.25kg
Salt=0.25Kg

The above feed formula contain (ME Kcal/Kg=3038.80), (CP=21.05%), (Cal=1.19%), (CF=3.60)If you measure everything above and mix it will give you 100Kg of feed which is four bags of feed 25Kg each.If you want to compound let us say 30Kg of feed what you have to do is just use this simple mathematical formula for each of the ingredientsMaize= 30/100 multiply the value of maize in the formula which is 44 and you will get 13.2Kg,For Soybean full fat=30/100 multiply the valueof Soybean full fat in the formula which is 34 and you will get 10.2Kg.You will continue with the calculation for all the ingredients for Methionine, Lysine, Vitamin/Mineral Premix and Salt which has a value of 0.25Kg you will say 30/100 multiply the value in the formula which is 0.25 and you will get (0.075).Thanks and I wish you a successful farming feel free to ask your question I will try my best to answer you as soon as possible.

THE CLERK WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH OFFICIAL ACCOUNT DETAILS, FAILURE OF WHICH I WILL TAKE NECESSARY ACTION TO ENSURE THAT YOU RETURN ANY MONEY STOLEN AND STAND WITNESS AGAINST YOU IN CASE OF PROSECUTION.

I have written to the Clerk of the National Assembly to stand by in anticipation. In the face of the revenue challenges and biting hardship the country is currently facing, there is no better time the country needs such money than now.
