Politics / Re: Would You Vote For IBB (Babangida) In 2007? by Jaybaba(m): 6:29pm On Nov 12, 2006
May God punish the evil genius and Nairalandians said AMEN!
IBB or any of his supporters are yet to answer the question "what will IBB do if he wins the election and it is annulled?"
Those who cannot accept responsibility are not fit enough to govern. IBB's claim that a lot of people influenced his decision to cancel the election is proof that he is trying to dodge from his true identity "THE evil and wicked dictator."

It is such a shame that people are clamoring for a man without conscience to rule a people depraved of everything good. It is pure callousness for people to defend a demon on the ground that he'll repent. As a systems engr. I am opportuned to go places fixing computers for clients and I have found out that there is a group at the helm of championing the IBB cause and they are the 419 men of this country. Believe it or not, IBB's agenda on return is to allow "chop-I-chop" principle to return. In case you do not know, chop-I-chop is the euphemism for corruption.

I am in support of younger, better educated and more Nigerian politicians as only they are qualified to rule Nigerians. IBB, OBJ, ATK, BUHARI, are not Nigerians, they are some Nigerians. The real Nigerians are the ones that have business on the streets and we see in our everyday life. They face our everyday problems, these are the people you call Nigerians.

His Excellency, IBB and your distinguished supporters? I have a question.
Suppose you campaign and the people (Nigerians) forgive you and decide like you feel to vote for you. And you win a landslide victory and everyone is congratulating you only for Obasanjo to wake up the next morning and announce on NTA, AIT, Radio Nigeria and CNN that the elections have been annulled,
IBB, what would you do in that scenario?
I want to see an answer to this question on the dailies tommorrow morning. Because that is the biggest question in the election now.
Ibb's men are in this forum and should please send him that question.
I await your answer. And if the answer no come by tommorrow 10th November, 2006 God go punish the evil genius and may God forgive his supporters.
God bless Nigeria.

Ajolayo,
Pls register when the registration begins. That is your part in making things better. It is also a MUST for you to vote credible people who are clamoring for a cause you believe in.
Do not be indifferent for that has kept us like this.
On IBB, May God forbid!
Nigerians should know better. He had 8 years when he was absolute ruler and military dictator and he could not do anything right. Now he wants to rule us again.
Simple. God forbid o!

Politics / Re: The President And His Mistresses by Jaybaba(m): 1:01pm On Oct 05, 2006
The people asking for the president to be respected fail to realise that the president is a "servant" and not "master" to the people. OBJ is our servant, we have the right to discuss him (gossip). Though there are limitations to these rights.
On the other hand, the moral values of a leader should be credible. Philandering is an impeachable offence in Nigeria. It is part of the corruption OBJ claims to be fighting. If he is buying & mantaining cars for his mistresses with state money (cause he can't of course be using personal money in this matter if na true), then he should be impeached.
All the others in power have had their fair share of this women-flirt trade, IBB, Abacha, Atiku, etc. Na becos we don hear only baba own na im make dem look like saint.
If anoda peson come 1 day show us im crystal mirror or ball, we open mouth at the sexcapades of these men.
Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by Jaybaba(m): 6:24pm On Oct 03, 2006
It is undisputable that, leaders in a military setting can out perform their counter-parts in democratic setting. Why? Military rulers are autocratic and authoritarian or dictatorial. While Democratic leaders have to practice a consultative procedure. This is an advantage for dictators.
IBB had all the powers available to do and undo and what could he do? Legalise 419 and various forms of curruption. He cancelled our election and stepped aside.
Some pple speak of forgiving. IBB is not a Xtian to believe in forgiveness. He believes an eye for an eye system.
Now someone pls tell me why we should vote IBB or forgive him. Nigerians have 4given him but cannot 4get what he did. He should respect us and our feeling by not running for local government chairman in his state.
IBB, Warning. DO NOT TAMPER WITH OUR EMOTIONS or ELSE!

BigB1 & Odeku: I stand to be corrected but should it not be better to have people with conscience rule us than to let people without conscience nor empathy become lord? IBB, Atiku, and other people who understand power play, politics, etc, etc have had their turn, and the result, Nigeria today with all the problems we face. Bad leadership has been largely responsible and we need to change that.
Besides, generational shift is long overdue. We need people with sound mind who are learned and cultured and besides, men who have a conscience.
John G. Holland once wrote
"May God give us men, men whom the lust of office cannot buy, men whom the love of money cannot corrupt. Men who have a conscience, men who cannot lie."
Okotie is not an exalted saint, no he is not but he is a man who struggled to get where he is today and a man who believes in effort and inspiration. It is people like him I subscribe, Okotie, Utomi, Oshomole, and people in that mould. Please, let's make a positive decision in Nigeria.

Any sensible will Nigerian who knows history will know better to to listen to IBB and his supporters. For crying out loud, we need to move forward and neglect the old decaying past. We cannot relive the past. We can only look forward to a better future. IBB for president? NO! Nigerians have forgiven IBB, but not forgotten. And for us to forget, he need not insult our emotions by even running for local govt. chairman.

Politics / Re: The Fear Of EFCC by Jaybaba(m): 5:53pm On Oct 01, 2006
Selective justice is the same thing as or even worse than INJUSTICE.
Obasanjo's hands are terribly dirty with evidences as visible as the sun and the EFCC is chasing and asking Atiku to explain what it calls "unusual co-incidences."
Notable Nigerians need not subscribe to this school of thought for it to be acceptable. The CIA, FBI, KJB, Scotland Yard may not be independent, yes but they investigate and prosecute people without bias. And when you hear people having opinions like "FBI is selective", they (FBI) go out their way to convince people they are not by their actions and when people continue to hold such opinions, then it is true and the FBI boss resigns on grounds of "incompetence, corruption, allegations, etc"
For Naija, the govt is the public opinion and we say we have democracy,
Wetin we get na crase demonstration.
Politics / Re: Atiku's Aide Shot Dead By Police by Jaybaba(m): 5:38pm On Oct 01, 2006
OBJ has a lot of power, he is equally very crude and raw. The plane crash involving several generals and now this murder are all evidences of OBJ's misrule.
I know the Nigerian police under OBJ to be irresponsible. They are capable of anything but to kill a presidential security detail at a time like this points to the current face off between the two men at the helm of affairs in this country. This is purely what it looks like.
It's that simple to fathom. They are testing the ground and reaction. Atiku must be careful these days. Media hype on this issue will be curtailed by the presidency and that will bring them to conclusion that people want Atiku dead.
Atiku, beware though you are corrupt as your boss beware I say of the "ides of October."
Politics / Re: Independence Day: Nigeria At 46. Hurray! by Jaybaba(m): 5:17pm On Oct 01, 2006
Yes, it's a day to look ahead in hope and also to reflect or think back about where we came from.
Our problem has been fear of domination and this has prevented us from having focus as nation. For this reason we had several coups, fought the civil war and won the war of unity. Became corrupt and are now fighting corruption with our prayers and not EFCC.
I believe in this country, there is hope. I pray for you Nigeria, God save Nigeria.
I beg all of you people in Nairaland to pray for Naija tomorrow Oct. 2 to say this prayer "The second stanza of National Anthem" and this very simple one "May God save and bless Nigeria. Amen"
Yes, May God save and bless Nigeria! Amen.
E go better! grin
Politics / Re: Rate the performance of President Olusegun Obasanjo by Jaybaba(m): 7:47pm On Sep 29, 2006
OBJ has some good scores: To start, he liberalised the telecoms sector which brought GSM. He also ensured that fuel scarcity became a thing of the past. The minimum wage and improving workers salaries and then the anti corruption war. Also, he worked had to settle the paris club and put our external reserve to a fair figure. For these, I score him 30%. He has also been able to get Nigeria out of the record as being the most corrupt country to something better. His reforms are in line with the IMF/World Bank. He and his economic team got the banks recapitalised. NAFDAC is doing a fine job and fake drugs are losing ground.

OBJ has some bad scores: His reforms are aimed at selling up public corporations to the private sector so that private people can run it, the truth is that OBJ and his co-horts are gradually buying up Nigeria. He increased the pump price of fuel 5 times from N11 of Abacha days causing unbearable inflation to us all. He has refused to fix or build a new refinery because private investors would not buy and sell at the present prices thus making us import refined fuel. He ordered the killing of an entire community because of youth restiveness in that land. He has no respect for the courts and his corruption campaign is selective meaning it is unjust. He keeps retrenching railway workers and wants to scrap the pension system. He made sure the NLC got crippled by manipulating the N.Assy to pass the labour law which baned strike. Overall, the economy is in shambles as 60% of the pple live on less than $5 per day. All our systems have become decorative (postal, transport-no rail, education-decaying). He put a lot of money into NEPA and till today, electricity supply in Lagos is less than 30% of a full day and some days with total black out. The list of his mismanagement is exhaustive. He also loves to fly. He spent 1095 days of the first 1460 days abroad. He is also a bad politician. Audu Ogbeh wrote him a letter which was very touching and immediately he axed his party chairman only to become their life leader. He also does not like or tolerate dissent or free press. He ordered the shutdown of AIT. Had 2 journalist arested for a law which is inexistent in Nairaland. OBJ also ceded our God given Bakasi peninsula and other lands to common Cameroun.

On the bad areas, he scores a whooping 95%.

He is also very corrupt: He owns majority shares in transcorp. He did not declare his assets before becoming president in 1999 and awarded several frivolous contracts during the COJA events, Many Nigerians believe he is fighting corruption and have forgotten he has not been able to probe IBB. Anyway Crocodiles do not eat crocodiles.

Overall we were better than when he met us on the scale that we pay more for everything now than we used to before he got on board. We used to win football events as well but now, we only lose to Angola and not go to the world cup.

OBJ is the current exchange rate of disgrace. And the rate is 1Disgrace = 1Obsanjo. His vp is corrupt agreed but OBJ should be grateful. Atiku got him the presidency 1999 along with the wimps and caprices of IBB. Atiku got him the presidency in 2003 and Atiku has foiled several coup attempts. OBJ excepts Atiku to keep being a dummy by accepting the 3rd term but Atiku is not a dumb soldier like OBJ and IBB. He has a mind of his own and in spite of what the EFCC is saying about him, it's all shit, they have more evidence against him, (OBJ) but they are too crude in their military fashion and no go fit use am well. OBJ does not even have good pr or manners. Imagine unleashing his favorite jester on Atiku. Atiku is equally very evil. He has been patient for his own mischevious end and waiting for the day when the time will come but not now as Baba wants him out. Both men are dishonorable.
If Atiku supported 3rd term, it would have worked and Nigeria would have remained in the jail we are in now. Atiku did well even though it was for his selfish reason. I long for the day when both men will be impeached. That day begins our liberation as a nation.
Politics / Re: The Fear Of EFCC by Jaybaba(m): 6:09pm On Sep 29, 2006
We cannot go on accepting half standards in this country. We had over 20 years of military dictatorship that put us in the brink of a fall into the abyss and then we got democracy but not full "half democracy". Some1 said half bread is better than none and we are managing OBJ and his half democracy, now some1 wants us to manage half performing EFCC cause half EFCC is better than none, but as for me, I refuse to accept half standard, the EFCC should begin to prosecute OBJ and if Ribadu cannot find anything on him, then RIBADU should be sentenced for ineptness and gross inexperience at incompetence or something worse.
Why should we manage everything, can't we get something good or full? The only good agency of this admin is NAFDAC, they don't take bribe, they are comitted to sanitising consumables and there is great deal of integrity there. No wonder the lady is receing a lot of assasination attempts and not threats. Ribadu is a corrupt police man and u know how our police men work, settlement.

For those who want IBB back, we can as well pray for the devil to take over the country. Some1 was cinc for 8 years and had all the power to make this country the pride of Africa but he would not and now he wants a second chance. OBJ had 4 years and got anoter 4 and he put us into a more deplorable condition he and Atiku and they both want a new term or 3rd term. Devil punish and baptise them. We no want, we want good govt and not management.
Politics / Re: Breaking News: Nigerian Governors Indicted by Jaybaba(m): 5:44pm On Sep 29, 2006
The EFCC is a gestapo force! What we want is a more transparent anti-corruption body whose chairman or dg would be appointed by the senate and ratified by the supreme to serve 2years and the president or vp has no say in his appointment or proceedings and such a person will be seen be running an organisation that truly investigates people and prosecutes them. To start with, past leaders down to present. If this department were to exist, we would see corruption being fought. EFCC is even corrupt, they take bribes. They do no respect court orders, they have no respect for due process. Their selectiveness in fighting corruption goes to prove that they are puppets or hypocrites. And for crying out loud these stunts are the very obvious manipulations of the poor manipulator OBJ.

Im try manipulate 3rd term, e no fit, e don dey try remove Atiku wen be thief like am but, he is not intelligent at all. Atiku will outwit him and OBJ will be left with nothing than to put him where Bola Ige, Funsho Williams and others are and then, some people wen go look for greener pasture eye and ear go open.

EFCC my arse! Which wind of change? If there were, OBJ should answer these questions: How did OBJ holdings raise money to buy 200milion shares in Transcorp? How many eggs & chiken did they force on COJA? Why did he remove Audu Ogbeh after receiving his letter? How come he was in debt until 1999 and now OBJ farms is doing well? When I get believable answers to these, I will ask more.

OBJ is busy trying to find a puppet he can godfather but too bad, he is not as skilful as maradona or Okocha in politics, he does not even have true loyal supporters, you will all see what Fani Kayode will do, few months from now.

OBJ and EFCC will all go down to kiri-kiri.
Politics / Re: The Flag of Nigeria by Jaybaba(m): 5:06pm On Sep 29, 2006
We need to change our name as well. Nigeria has no meaning to us as a people. We also need to change our constitution to be a practical fedralist state. We are not practising fedralism at all. Our flag is cute but when we change our name, we must change our system and then our flag.
Politics / Re: October 1st, Nigeria's Independent Day,are We Moving Forward Or Backward? by Jaybaba(m): 4:59pm On Sep 29, 2006
We no go anywhere but BACKWARD!
People are moving forward when living standards improve. Have they improved in your house?
No light, no security, bad economy, no road, no train, no job, pensions slow and are going to be scrapped. Our systems (postal, transport, education, etc) are merely decorative.
We could'nt even qualify for the world cup. We have not won a gold medal at football events even when we did well. These are signs of backwardness or stagnation. The OBJ reforms are not working for us, they are working for OBJ (and his co-horts) that are buying Nigeria. We are going backward, NPA and a lot of other entities that belong to us have been sold, very soon your bus stop and your house will be sold.
May God save Nigeria. We no dey go forward at all.
Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by Jaybaba(m): 4:52pm On Sep 29, 2006
It is such a pity that the reasons we vote in Nigeria are; ethnicity, religion, friends or contract. Nothing more. We should move on to the issues. Our economy is stagnant. OBJ keeps telling us things are better and then gives us some useless numbers from a graph ploted in his kitchen at Ota farm telling us we are doing well. All those are nothing but change of number but not the situation.

We need to improve. A campaigner must tell us how or what policies he intends to adopt to solve the problem of hunger and unemployment. This is how to assess politicians and not when they come out on the campaign ground say " I will create 5million jobs in 2008" That is rubbish.

Only people who can take the issues and project on them and who equally have no moral dent to their persons should we listen to or vote for. Utomi, Okotie, Oshomole, Duke, etc are the pple in this line. Let's consider them.
Politics / Re: Atiku Is A Disgrace To Nigerians by Jaybaba(m): 4:42pm On Sep 29, 2006
Iyke D, perhaps for a N5k increase or even less in workers salaries. You think OBJ is beta than Abacha. For crying out loud, Abacha never ordered mass killings of any civilisation in Nigeria following the youth restiveness in that town. That act alone was enough to impeach OBJ into jail but our N.Assy has been bought over. OBJ is even more corrupt than Atiku. Check out the plot to impeach Mantu where OBJ offered several of the house of rep members millions to impeach the man only for them to place the money on the lower house platform and point fingers at the offerer of those bribes. That is another clear case of corruption. That scandal was swept away or under the carpet to this day.

Head to head with Abacha, Abacha comes out better as a leader. Abacha ensured we did not pay too much for fuel. OBJ wants us to pay N200 if Oshiomole keeps mum. The PTF under Abacha made some visible landmarks through infrastructure that touched lives nearly everywhere. OBJ prefers to increase the price of garri as a means of encouraging farmers to produce more. Question has the price of garri come down so we can all buy? NO. We pay more for everything now than we did during the dictator's era. And Abacha truly fought corruption. Not this double standard we are seeing today with selective prosecution and intimidation. 419 and scammers in Nigeria made way to Togo to survive cause the trade was blocked here. Today it is on the increase. OBJ a democrat canot even respect court orders.

OBJ's failure is monumental. He is corrupt to the good morning on his lips. He is even without empathy of any sort. Atiku is part of his failure cause he's OBJ's henchman and co-hort and yes I agree he's a disgrace but OBJ is the king-kong disgrace and should be impeached first before any one else in office. It is possible for them to be impeached and the calendar for elections continue. Very possible. And that is what we need now, to tell ourselves the truth. OBJ is more corrupt than Atiku his errand corruption servant and we can do better without the two or all other corrupt leaders from the past.
Politics / Re: Who Should Be Impeached Obj Or Atiku Cast Your Vote by Jaybaba(m): 6:37pm On Sep 28, 2006
OBJ should be impeached first. He is the president and the bucks must start and stop on his table. How come it took him 7 years to break up with Atiku? For informed people Atiku ensured OBJ stayed in power till this day. What does Atiku want in return? The presidency he laboured so much for. But what happened OBJ wanted another term but Atiku would not support this time and OBJ says in his heart and some children heard him say to Atiku "you'll see, I'll not play with you again." This is the genesis of this face off and we have not heard enough. More is coming. Atiku is a dishonest man but OBJ should go to Ota first and the Turakin to Yola. Both men should be impeached. But OBJ first. grin
Nairaland / General / Re: Champions League 2006/2007 Session, Who Will Win? by Jaybaba(m): 6:24pm On Sep 28, 2006
The big winners of the Champs league (Madrid, Milan, Bayern, Juve) may not do well this season following the Italian league shakeup. Barca will try but not get much this year. The Gunners (Hot Stuff) will do well again though, they are lacking strength in depth, just surface tactics carry them along. Man U equally have no strength in depth and will fumble along the way. Lyon and PSV will cause mishaps this year but time will tell. I look forward to Madrid, Milan, Bayern, Lyon, Chelsea and Liverpool along few others to make it to this season's Q.Final.
Chelsea's problem is their lack of ability to team or bond during games, Morinho has no clearly defined tactics and that won't work this year in the champs league. Let's get to the q.final and then we can predict who wins but for now, footy is no maths.
Politics / Re: Chris Okotie (Fresh Party) For President In 2007? by Jaybaba(m): 6:13pm On Sep 28, 2006
Okotie can do well as president. I listened to Okotie during his debate with Jim Nwobodo at the last elections and I realised he was different from all the others in the race at that time. He is a greenhorn as some people have said but he is a greenhorn at looting tax payers money, diverting public funds, chasing after unneccesary projects or buying transcorp shares. He will not even spend a dime buying prado jeep for a girlfriend nor will he cede an inch of Nigerian land to Togo.

His campaign was issue based while he spoke from the heart and that made him different. Other politicians at that election were just mentioning problems and never telling us in what way or how they will solve them. Okotie did. This is modern politics as it is done elsewhere (the issues and how you will address them) so that we will see reason with you the campaigner and thereafer hold you responsible when you do not perform.

Except for Audu Ogbeh the PDP chairman at that time who spoke on trust, the PDP had nothing they were saying and neither did anyother party say anything to convince us. Follow elections from civilised countries and you realise that people like IBB, Buhari, OBJ, Atk can not stand a chance cause, they must bring a lenghty speech prepared by their special assistant on publicity and then read it or rather recite it lifelessly to people who want to collect N500 apiece.

For people with a heart and conscience, people with sound sense of reasoning, the Okoties, Oshimoles, Utomis of this world would make a better choice and I do not believe you need to have been previous experience to become the president. It is not a proven theory anywhere that greenhorns cannot become greater horns. Okotie can indeed become the president if only Nigerians would seperate themselves from all the divides, (religion, ethnicity, etc) and rally to people who address the issues that bother us all. In fact, Okotie, carry go!
Politics / Re: Atiku Is A Disgrace To Nigerians by Jaybaba(m): 5:52pm On Sep 28, 2006
Iyke D, if Baba resigns today or dies tomorrow or is impeached the day after, Nigeria will continue to exist until Nigerians reject Nigeria. Obasanjo must resign naturally on the grounds of failure first before the talk of his banter with his deputy. On the issue of Atiku is a disgrace, he should also resign to clear his name and allow himself to be properly investigated as the EFCC is not independent enough to ask him a question about how he was able to pay fully for the 200million shares in transcorp. Atiku is a disgrace but he is not less than Obasanjo his master at disgrace. OBJ has eaten this country wide and he is proud of things we cannot be proud of namely "paying external debts" and "increasing our external reserve." The wealth he and Atiku has amassed for themselves is enough to make Nigeria a developed economy in 6 years. Obasanjo has breached every single alphabet of the constitution and the National Assembly remained unperturbed. But they N.Assy can reverse the tide and become loyal to the people by impeaching both men out of office. After that, an interim govt should be elected from N.Assy to conduct the elections. True democracy is about competition of party ideologies and performance. The N.Assy are also supposed to be a watchdog but OBJ got everyone corrupt and the result, he does whatever he wishes and suddenly his vp insists he is wrong this time and though his vp is not morally worthy to say a word, he is right in doing what he has done, something good may just happen for us.
Politics / Re: Pro Or Anti Obj Who Do U Prefer by Jaybaba(m): 5:20pm On Sep 28, 2006
Both men are dishonourable. Both should resign tomorrow or be impeached. The country is in a state of organised and peaceful anarchy and we have OBJ as president. It's a shame. I'm not taking side, OBJ is a bad sinner and ATK is a good sinner.
The two are sinners, good or bad and are even unworthy to have been our leaders. Shame on both men. Why should 1 remain in office, we could not even make it to the world cup. They were busy carting money and buying shares. The Transcorp matter is proof of the rut of our morality.

Baba has nothing in mind though cause the little girl has no millions to donate to Bells university or can she buy him a share at transcorp but just that he's uncivilised and he's not ashamed.
Politics / Re: The Flag of Nigeria by Jaybaba(m): 5:08pm On Sep 28, 2006
The Nigerian flag is truly unique and to make it better we need to redesign the green and white from the vertical greens to the horizontal and having the coat of arms very small in the middle. This would make it look better.
Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by Jaybaba(m): 4:33pm On Sep 28, 2006
We need someone new. All those who got us into this deplorable state or did nothing to get us out ought not to even say hello on the campaign ground. These include IBB, Buhari, and Atiku. Though, it is their right to run for this coveted post, it is morally reprehensible for us to let these men feast on the little left of this country.
Only those who are morally and academically qualified should be allowed to run. These are the Oshiomoles of this world, Dukes, Odili, etc. And by the way this country has been run it would only be fair for the South South geo-zone to produce this next leader cause they are no fools. It is their land that has produced the wealth which OBJ/ATK, BUHARI/IDIAGBON, IBB/AIKHOMO, and ABACHA embezzled. They should be given the opportunity if this country belongs to us all to run things and after that, the Ibos should produce the next before it can become a case of the most popular should win. For now, let the South South and all Parties should zone their presidency to the South South.
But most importantly, we must address the issue of how the elections should be done. I support a system where the votes are counted on the spot on the termination of voting. The results anounced immediately to those that voted at that booth for all there to be witnesses to. The results thereafter compiled and announced. This will checkmate money polyticking and rigging.
Let us get it right this time, Nigeria must be saved.
God bless Nigeria. smiley

Obasanjo's Administration score:
Power supply - Less than 25% per day in cities needing it e.g. Lagos, Kano, Onitsha, Aba, etc. various sources
Economy - 65% of Nigerians leave on less than $5 daily. The CIA factbook. Indicating that this percent of the population is poor.
Education - The system seems to be confused with public exams now lacking faith in the results they award as students often cannot defend their results. The Guardian opinion
Social Amenities - Few roads are being constructed and maintenance of old roads are almost invinsible. No railway system, no affordable houses, etc.
Social Security - Absent
Security - The police have no respect and even kill the civilians. The army and mobile police men use horewhips at the slightest provocation. No security

The list goes on, there is virtually no reason why Obasanjo should continue. Atiku is Obasanjo's cohort and both men should be impeached, tried and sentenced to several years in prison.
The administration has failed on nearly every issue and to make matters worse they OBJ/ATK are corrupt hypocrites. We can't take this trash anymore. They should resign honourably or be impeached today.

Good question deserves a good answer! A bad question deserves a good answer as well! IBB is not in prison because no one has been serious enough to call a spade a spade and when I mean no one, I mean the one who is supposed to be our representative, the president. IBB cancelled or anulled the June 12 election, and ensured that corruption became our national anthem by making settlement the euphemism for bribe and the motto for the period became "chop I chop".

We all or most of us liked this because the system made us all poor and we lost our conscience in pursuit of bread and a little happiness. The Nigerian state as it is today is a total failure. We must come to terms with this and begin as a people to consciously make right what has been wronged if we truly want things to change.

There is hope, a living united Nigeria is better than the hopeless state of emergency which we are currently experiencing amidst suffering & smiling. The first step in righting this wrong is to register for the next elections, voting only those who have no smear whatsoever on their name or record and clamoring like we all did during the 3rd term for a better. Nigeria. If we all can do this, be committed to the electoral process and ensure we are not being fooled, we will have a run off election next year that will begin a new era. But if we let things remain the way they are, IBB or Atiku or even Buhari will become president and God save Nigeria then.
Politics / Re: Atiku Is A Disgrace To Nigerians by Jaybaba(m): 3:14pm On Sep 28, 2006
Fellow Nigerians and panelists, the issue in question goes beyond what has been said. Objectivity is a virtue most Nigerians lack and this is why most panelists and other people alike are either calling for the head of Atiku or OBJ himself. The fact is that allegations of corruption have been made by the president and counter allegations made by his deputy. Under normal circumstances both men should resign to clear their names. They are both dishonest men and as such, not worthy of leading a people like Nigeria. If the two of them refuse to resign, the National Assembly ought then to demonstrate where their true loyalty lies, with their constituencies or with the President who has committed more than 30 impeachable offences since assuming office on May 29 1999.

What is going on now between the two is proof to the notion that, there is no honour among thieves. Obasanjo is a terrible anti people leader and Atiku has been his facilitator and cohort for 7 years. Their present mishap should not be about who is more of disgrace than the other or anything else but either resignation from both or impeachment of both.

The Senate on their eventual resignation or impeachment should elect from themselves an interimn government with 2 duties, ensure that next year's election are credible and two investigate and prosecute the two where found wanting.
This is the correct verdict on the matter.
