European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Jay Jay Okocha Vs Ronaldino: Who Is The Better Dribbler? by Jaybaba(m): 5:21pm On Dec 22, 2008
Okocha is the best dribbler to have played football on a football pitch!
He certainly was not the best footballer but he was the best dribbler.
Ronaldinho runs and swerves, he tries to dance once in a while and many other skills.
Okocha does not run when he dribbles and run into space, he can do many things with the ball in one small space and leave the defenders thinking how it was all possible.
Ronaldinho himself confessed to have learnt a lot of dribbling watching Okocha while both were at PSG and unless you are biased you would have seen Ronaldinho do a lot of Okocha moves. Baggio, Zidane, Maradona, Pele, Hagi etc were more goal and result oriented than Okocha and that's why the Nigerian in spite of his superodinate talents was least acknowledged.
Nolan describes Okocha as doing in a match what many great footballers only do in training and he never thought of them (dribbles) as anything.
Ronaldinho runs, Messi runs, C. Ronaldo runs, Okocha dribbles. He could beat a defender and still be on the same spot with the defender thoroughly embarrased. None of the above could ever dribble a marker and still be where he started.
C. Ronaldo recently confessed to having Okocha as his dribbling mentor.
Okocha, you are too much

His plan was to retire back to Calabar and hook up with Ekaete who mysteriously sent him a text message reading

"It's been a long time,
Since I had a fresh lime
pressed on these bossoms of mine
and have em sucked with mouths of thine"

With that, his plan became clear and his mind resolute. He was going to travel, Yes travel to Calabar to meet this Ekaete who happens to flash him every hour, so,

Sports / Re: Yakubu Is Finished (His Injury) by Jaybaba(m): 7:33pm On Dec 03, 2008
The Yak is certainly not finished.
Yakubu like most other Nigerian players understate their ages by ,
He has his faults on the pitch (unwilling to get involved, loses concentration, unmotivated especially for Nigeria, sometimes lazy)
He has more strengths , a good goal scorer, an excellent passer of the ball, assists more than he scores (this is one reason he gets called up to the Super Eagles).
Yakubu will recover. He is not a player to ignore even though we have better attackers like Uche, Osaze, Nsofor, Yakubu is certainly the better goal scorer compared to these guys (records speak for themselves).
I wish you a quick recovery Yak.
Nigerians we should learn to be objective about our people and criticise appropriately. Yakubu I have observed is the most hated Nigerian player today. He has scored more than most people realise, 18 national team goals so far, Martins, Aghaowa, Kanu, Amokachi are all under 15. So hate him less please
Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama: Victory For The White! by Jaybaba(m): 7:08pm On Nov 06, 2008
Obama won not because he was Black!
Obama won because he stood for what Americans wanted now, a departure from Bush's economic policies, tax cuts for the middle and lower class, improved health insurance etc etc.
That is what politics is all about, ideology and policy. Personality (charisma, education, religion, oratory, race etc) is important but a small part of the main issue an informed electorate vote for.
Miss that, miss everything about what elections are about. Elections are about putting collective will behind a common cause(s) and usually 1 man or woman is at the helm of that cause and he is the candidate representing those issues. The majority carries the vote.

Obama's victory co-incidentally happens to be a victory for African Americans. A black man wins because he stood for the issues most people in a white dominated country agree upon. It's as simple as that. His brilliance and all other personality plus were just added advantage.
This is the mistake and problem we have had and continue to have here in Nigeria. The theory of the man and not what he stands for.
The turn of the south-south, the eastern turn, power is a birth right of the north, etc and eliminating the issues in the process.

Until we learn to put our priorities right we will continue to make the mistake. American Democracy stems from ", governments are instituted among men from the consent of the governed, "
Politics / Re: Iwu The Ewu's Dumb Statement! by Jaybaba(m): 6:10pm On Nov 06, 2008
Iwu the Ewu, I certainly agree.
The man was a biased umpire - began a heated attempt to disqualify Atiku.
He lacked organisation - the registration was marred with logistics failure
He lacks administrative judgement - Always disorganising what didnt need organising
He was partisan - He was a PDP man except that he did not shout Power to the People with a microphone
He could not even admit his lapses - He kept claiming the whole exercise was a success

I can go on and on. This latest display of his arrogant folly is another slap on the integrity of well meaning Nigerians who know what an election means. Iwu helped Obasanjo the evil maniac impose Yar Adua who has been busy planning how to be busy in the year 2020. Iwu should listen to himself.
An election in a continent where over 160million people voted across 50 states with 6 different voting systems and same day results are out state by state. Here the results had to be sent to Abuja first where they were cooked and spiced with a little seasoning known as Iwu seasoning of numbers such that there would be a consistency with his refurbished computer program. In the end, Yar Adua became president to glory of Iwu and Obasanjo.

A democracy of over 200 years founded on principle as simple as ", governments are instituted amongs men with the consent of the governed, " and has remained since then. Iwu says such an established organisation should come and learn his diabolical ways of manipulating people. God forbid. Anyway, he was not heard in the US else Obama would have sent us some troops to help us remove this regime and bring in a true "government of the people for the people by the people here in Nigeria."
Foreign Affairs / Re: Black Pope Could Follow Barack Obama's Election. by Jaybaba(m): 5:24pm On Nov 06, 2008
The Catholic Church is a religion that has more behind its name. A pope cannot be Black. There is more to the Roman Catholic Church than meets the eye. Do your research. Read books, you will find out more about this organisation that appears church.
There is no such thing as Pope or need for it in Christendum and so there will never be a black Pope except the Jesuit leader figuratively speaking.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama The Anti-christ by Jaybaba(m): 5:05pm On Nov 06, 2008
The anti-christ will be a Jewish leader in Israel or from Israel.
The nation and people of Israel did not believe in Jesus as the Christ or messiah. They are still expecting the messiah and this messiah has to be a Jew for them to accept him. When he comes, the Jewish nation will accept him and the world will rally to him.
It is not Obama. Obama is an African American and has no Jewish trace in his lineage.
Foreign Affairs / Re: US Elections 2008 Results: Obama vs Mccain by Jaybaba(m): 7:30pm On Nov 04, 2008
Statistics, polls, experts all suggest an Obama victory.
The majority of people around the globe all want an Obama victory.
I Joshua C. King also want this Barak Obama to win.
Here are my reasons,
He is in himself CHANGE. I want to believe positive change as well.

I think I agree with you nd2g.
I am not an ethnic sentimentalist and I believe rather in being a patriotic national.
On the other hand, I feel we should either revert to the parliamentary system i.e.
where the only elections we hold are the national assembly elections. You vote your senators, rep members, the party that has the majority elects the cabinet that assumes executive office.
This might just be better, apart from this, our political class will always find reason to either compromise with PDP or play to the gallery in favour of PDP.
Whatever happens, Nigerians will survive their evil!
Politics / Re: Updates On The 2007 Presidential Election by Jaybaba(m): 1:49pm On Apr 23, 2007
The elections are a national disaster!
The EU is unsatisfied
European Union observers said the elections had fallen far short of basic international standards and were marred by violence, poor organisation, lack of transparency, widespread irregularities, significant fraud, voter disenfranchisement and bias.

"These elections have not lived up to the hopes and expectations of the Nigerian people and the process cannot be considered to have been credible," said Max van den Berg, chief EU observer, in a statement. - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6582891.stm

Politics / Re: Election Results: Nationwide by Jaybaba(m): 6:03pm On Apr 17, 2007
The election is such a FRAUD!
After 8 years of poor performance, it is not possible for the PDP to win the number of states they did.
In Edo and Anambra states, AC ought to have won clearly.
I join other well meaning Nigerians to demand an outright cancellation of the Polls.
Elections are not supposed to be do or die. And when they are, it should canceled.
Nigerians deserve good leadership. God fearing, people loving as well as honest leaders. Anything less than this is bad.
Summarily, everywhere PDP won should be cancelled.
Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by Jaybaba(m): 8:40pm On Mar 27, 2007
Pat Utomi is part of the conspiracy against Nigerians.
He had a lot of involvement with Govt in the past as adviser.
These people only care that a particular set of capitalists continue to prosper.

They are not driven out to contest by frustration of the events happening in Nigeria.
Utomi believes education should be paid for at all levels. Even though he is saying things differently in campaigns now.
He has no passion whatsoever about our plight.

For me, passion for the people is another important virtue.
Okotie Chris is the only one with such virtue at the moment.

Okotie is the man now. His being a preacher is a plus.
Sports / Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Versus Crannes Of Uganda: 1-0! by Jaybaba(m): 8:32pm On Mar 27, 2007
The poor game play was purely a Vogts fault. How?
He changed all our tactics and tradition.
The result, a drab looking Super Eagles lacking any cohesion.

He should learn not to make such automatic changes.

Meanwhile, the players did not put in their best in terms of creativity.
Sometimes, the coach draws up everything but then, good players must be able to come up with more creativity when the other team counters all their tactics. That is where Mikel, Kanu and Obodo all failed. They could not inspire at all.

But this Vogts na wao. How can you play 4:5:1 in a 4:4:2 dominated country?
Politics / Re: Pastors As Political Godfathers by Jaybaba(m): 8:27pm On Mar 27, 2007
Staying politically neutral is for civil servants.
The scripture does not ask us to be onlookers at the happenings in our time.
Neither does it ask us to be actively involved.

It is a thing of choice and conviction. However, do not compromise your stand in whatever you do.

Now on the issue of Pastors as political godfathers, I feel, it is the politicians who are going to the pastors to get prayers and support. They are using it to demonstrate their love or acceptance of religious leaders and etc.
Abiola went to Idahosa then. In the US it happens a lot. In the US , the president is sometimes sworn in by a preacher.

So, I beg us to speak the matters very clearly without mincing or giving different meanings to situations.
Christians have a right to vote and I feel we should vote as our conscience leads us.
Sports / Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Versus Crannes Of Uganda: 1-0! by Jaybaba(m): 12:44pm On Mar 26, 2007
This Mikel vs Okocha debate is such an insult.
Recently a French teenager was compared with Zidane by the media and the young lad quickly corrected the un-cautious media and fans about such comparison. Mikel should do such.

Okocha is a very humble person and according to Nolan in Bolton, Okocha does in real matches even in the World Cup what most of us can only imagine practising in training. Mikel has never done any supernatural flicks capable of intimidating the entire opposing team. Okocha did a lot of stunts like that and the entire opponents were awed for days.

Please do not compare them at all. Besides, Mikel in Chelsea is no performance at all. Morinho wants him to play a defensive midfield role and Mikel is not good at marking. He is quick no doubt but he is yet to show any sign of creativity either in Chelsea or in Nigeria. Okocha as a young player was able to enterprise the Eagles attack. I was very young when I saw Okocha in the challenge cup final in 1991 vs Stores of Lagos. He was the bomb. He was quite a kid then but to compare the legend Okoch with Mikel is such an insult. For me Oruma should be the one wearing jersey 10 now and probably after the nations cup in Ghana Mikel should take over.
Sports / Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Versus Crannes Of Uganda: 1-0! by Jaybaba(m): 12:34pm On Mar 26, 2007
This is typical Vogts.
Come to a new ground and introduce new formation.
Nigeria played 4:5:1
Nigeria did not play passing football but long ground, short aerial and short lobs.
For people who have poor football understanding, I may explain later but our football is not any of those above.

Our football is "passing football, attacking or darting runs with flank crosses / through passes"
Eguavoen should have advised Vogts on our age-long football tradition.

Besides, the team had no leader on the pitch. Kanu was subdued. Mikel lacks any creativity. This his 1-touch football in Chelsea is not what we play in Nigeria. He should watch our number 10s and see how they affect our game since the 80s. Olofinjana is an obvious error and for me Ayila should be Oliseh's replacement.

In all Vogts could not win tactically, It was Eguavoen who had to win with motivation and shouting. And Kanu who could get the goal.

Sack Vogts now.
Politics / Re: Lagos Governorship Debate: Why Was Koro Absent? by Jaybaba(m): 12:17pm On Mar 22, 2007
THE PDP is a full scale fraud!
Koro and all their candidates nationwide with the exception of Ogun State where Gbenga Daniel has been outstanding. All the others incumbent and new ones are are anti-people money miss road and money bags. They all like Baba Iyabo believe that everyone has a price and that our consciences are up for auction. Power at all cost is their underlying principle even at the expense of the people. PDP is not the party we should identify with now! Facts are all over the place, take it an interpret it then you will conclude the same. PDP is a fraud!
Politics / Re: Chris Okotie (Fresh Party) For President In 2007? by Jaybaba(m): 12:01pm On Mar 22, 2007
Somewhere sometime, someone has to stand up for good. The only necessary condition for evil to prevail over good is for good men to do nothing.

Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. left his pastoral job to campaign against black segregation that was the order of the day in the US. Months later J.F. Kennedy won the election and began to implement the wishes of the human rights activist. We all remember Martin Luther King Jr. today for his message - I HAVE A DREAM.

The African Americans at the time realised however their problem and identified with Martin Luther though not en mass. Today, they are enjoying the fruits and benefit of a free nation.

CHRIS OKOTIE in Nigeria is a true picture of that scenario in our Nigeria of today. We are besot with a multitude of problems and one of them is CONSPIRACY against the Nigerian people. Today, Chris Okotie has gotten up to bring a positive change to this country and his conviction is LIVE and GENUINE. So many people do not believe and must not be forced to agree with him or we that believe in his FRESH vision for Nigeria.

But know one thing , All the other political parties in Nigeria are involved in the CONSPIRACY against Nigerians , the common people on the streets. Chris Okotie is a modern day preacher/political reformer. His being a clergyman is a plus and not a setback. We must stop supporting moneybags and identify with persons and a party that intends to bring true CHANGE.

OKOTIE, I support you and the FRESH Team where the people truly come first.
God bless you and God bless the party.
God bless Nigeria
Politics / Re: The Worst Nigerian Leader Of All Time. by Jaybaba(m): 11:48am On Mar 22, 2007
The nominees for the worst Nigerian leader of all time are:
Generals S. Abacha, Gen. I. Babangida, Gen. M. Buhari and Gen. O. Obasanjo.

After much deliberation and wide scale research.

I am pleased to announce that the most WICKED Nigerian leader of all time was Gen. M. Buhari.
The most corrupt leader and destroyer of Nigeria was Gen. I. Babangida.
The most power drunk Nigerian leader of all times was Gen. Abacha.

The last award ladies and gentlemen of Nairaland goes to the WORST LEADER OF NIGERIA in all history is GEN. OLUSEGUN AREMU OBASANJO.
Politics / Re: IBB: Still The Right Man by Jaybaba(m): 5:08pm On Mar 12, 2007
Big B1:
IBB has no business think about Asorock or Abuja again. He plunged this country into a lot of mess in his 8 year rule and now wants to come back. No way. IBB is the founder and originator of corruption as a doctrine and in practice its senior apostle. He believes everyone has a price and such thinking does us no good.

Any pro-IBB or pro-PDP talk is based on deceit. PDP has not performed creditably yet, they make a lot of noise.

FDP, OKOTIE AND THE OTHERS IN THAT PARTY ARE THE SOLUTION TO NIGERIA'S PROBLEM TODAY!
Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by Jaybaba(m): 5:05pm On Mar 12, 2007
Money bag politicians are busy now buying people's consciences. They even visit my neigbourhood looking for whom to deceive.

Even people with questionable performance like OBJ can open his mouth in the face of an obvious failure to campaign for Yar Adua. The Khalifa himself has no conscience, they are all from the same stock of people who think that everybody has a price and that everyone's conscience is up for auction.

We better think well and vote in a party that has common people like us as candidates. That party is Fresh Democratic Party and their candidates at all level are people of integrity and great passion for the people. Chris Okotie is the man.
