RIO Ferdinand's stalker tried to seduce a young gardener at her home after spotting him toiling away - in a Manchester United shirt.

THE woman convicted of stalking footballer Rio Ferdinand tried to set a girl ablaze by dousing her in petrol - then flicking lit matches at her.
Susanne Ibru, 38, soaked terrified Zerlina Reid in fuel on her doorstep after a falling-out over a Scotch egg.

Zerlina, then 17, was seconds from turning into a fireball when her mum pulled her to safety.

The attack left her so traumatised she suffered sleepless nights and was prescribed medication.

Fighting back tears, school volunteer Zerlina, now 27, said: "I'd have died if one of those matches hit me. It sends a shiver down my spine."

This week England and Manchester United star Rio, 32, told a court he feared for HIS family's safety after Ibru, of Peckham, South London, made three 400-mile round trips to his Cheshire home last year demanding to speak to him. She was convicted of harassment.

Yesterday it emerged that Ibru has convictions for carrying a knife, criminal damage and public order.

She also got three years in 2003 for trying to wound with intent former next-door neighbour Zerlina. She said: "The night before it happened, we thought she had been ripping up flowers from the front of our house.

"It was the latest in a line of rows that started when Mum wouldn't microwave a Scotch egg for her.

"When we were tidying them up Ibru came out and me and my brother got in a row with her. She went back in her house and came back with a bottle and splashed it all over me. I thought it was water.

"She struck up a match and threw it past me. Mum pulled me in the house but she kept flicking them.

"Once we got in, that's when we realised it was petrol from the smell of it. We had to rush upstairs to wash it all out."

Ibru was arrested after a 999 call. Mum-of-one Zerlina, of Thornton Heath, South London, was "traumatised" - and the Rio case brought her nightmares back. Zerlina said: "I was stunned to see her face in The Sun. Rio needs to be very careful.




Last night Ibru was in custody after her third court appearance in 72 hours ended in more controversy.

On Monday she fled Macclesfield JPs after representing herself. The judge convicted her and issued an arrest warrant. She denied making Rio's life a misery, saying: "We go way back. I'm a one-man woman."

On Tuesday she was nicked in Warrington, allegedly assaulting a WPC. Yesterday she told Judge Nicholas Sanders at Crewe Magistrates' Court: "You need your head examined" before being returned to the cells. She will be sentenced for harassment on May 9.

Like I said, I'm all for shared responsibility . . doesn't mean one person can't help out the other. But your responsibility is still your responsibility. . . . that's just the way I see it.

The difference is, it's my choice to labour for my family. I could as well be irresponsible but i chose not to.
It's a problem when the wife expects it cos supposedly it's her right for me to provide for her 100%.
we are two individuals coming together agreeing to go into a relationship. My responsibility is my child because he or she never asked to be brought into the world.


At the end of the day all the above gets thrown outta the window if their is love but i just frown upon a woman that doesn't let things happen naturally/freewilly but harbouring thoughts of "It's my right a wife that you must provide bla bla bla". Just so wrong on many fronts.

I for one never demand from any ladies so i expect to be treated the same

Most educated young men this days embrace the need for shared responsibility when it comes to house chores and upbringing of the children.
It's not the money i worry about actually afterall who else is going to spend ma money if not ma family. I am more worried about the mentality clouding ya'all's reasoning.
