Absolutely wrong.
You can always use the medium you met to define your friendship. Surely you don't have to go on dates before deciding if you only wanna be someone's friend. It's more like you are leading them on simples

Aren't you guys guilty of what the OP is complaining about?
Paying attention to them simply means you are greasing their already greased elbows.
Ignore them and the world will easily become a better place.

What i'm basically saying is if you have no intention to date someone then don't simply go on dates with them until you've established a proper friendship base.
You really shouldn't cos of many reasons;
1) You don't want a man to start thinking he his owed simply because he took you out even though you don't have anything defined
2) You don't want to give him d room to start thinking against the racecourse.

PS: Nothing wrong with going out on dates with your male friends as long as your friendship is properly defined.
