Did you go into a contract with the dude?
If yes, did you stipulate in your contract that the dude can loose all his investment?
If indeed you did do all the above then it's just a case of having a bad day in forex world.
If not then you seriously have to consider returning his money as IMO he invested in you based on a false (ma assumption) promise.
