The authorities of Adamawa State University, Mubi, has announced indefinite closure of the institution due to the fear of possible attack from insurgents. This is contained in a statement by Malam Hassan Tanko, Acting Registrar of the institution, in Yola on Sunday. The statement, which directed students to go home, stated that the university was closed indefinitely for security reasons. Meanwhile some students of the university, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone that they were stranded due to residents rush to leave the town. One of the students who identified himself as Ali said many commuters were now stranded in the commercial border town due to lack of vehicle. “Motor park is now jam-packed with stranded passengers with no vehicle to move them out,” Ali said. http://jayboss..com/2014/09/boko-haram-adamawa-varsity-closes.html

Trust me, they will unlock it under 6 hours, return your mum's money and ask you to re order again.I have done that already but they turned me down because the name my mum used on her ID card is different from the name on the debit card.....I am thinking of doing a new id card for her that matches the name on the debit card.....how do you see it |

Pres. Jonathan broke the news on his facebook page telling nation that Hyundai Motors has joined to set up a plant in Nigeria. "When this administration launched the new National Automobile policy, I promised Nigerians that our nation will ultimately become a hub for the automobile industry. Today, this promise has been fulfilled several times over as Hyundai Motors joins Kia, Nisan and Innoson Motors as automobile manufacturers who produce cars in Nigeria. This is only the beginning. This policy will be seen to its logical conclusion of making Nigeria an automobile exporting nation after our domestic demands are met in the same manner as we did with our cement sub sector. To prevent being infected with the deadly Ebola virus, two people in Makurdi, the capital city of Benue State who believed salt could help prevent contracting the virus have been confirmed dead. The Sun reports that they drank and bathed with salt solution. Dr Joseph Kumba, Director, Public Health in the Ministry of Health and Human Services confirmed the report. “We got the report at a meeting today (Wednesday 13th August) that two persons died at Ushakaa clinic as a result of drinking and bathing with hot salted water.” he said. The Medical Director of Ushakaa Hospital Dr Innocent Gbillah said it was a male and a female. Gbillah did not disclose the names of the deceased but said they were admitted into the hospital on Saturday. He told the public to be sure of any rumour before adopting it. “We did everything possible to help the victims but to no avail. One of them died on Tuesday at 7pm while the other gave up the ghost at 5am Wednesday (yesterday).” he said. If you recall, just a week ago, 2 people died while 20 were hospitalised after excessive consumption of salt in Jos. www.jaybossnews.com/2014/08/2-die-in-makurdi-after-drinking-bathing.html?m=1

Nigerian public sector doctors on Thursday suspended a nearly five-week long strike over an Ebola outbreak which has killed two people and infected five others in Lagos. A statement from the National Medical Association union listed “the incursion of Ebola into Nigeria” as a main reason for suspending the strike. The emergence of Ebola in Lagos, sub-Saharan Africa’s largest city with more than 20 million people, has created further panic over the worst ever outbreak of the deadly tropical disease. The densely-packed city has a weak public health system which experts say is poorly equipped to manage a significant number of Ebola patients. Lagos state health commissioner Jide Idris late Wednesday appealed to striking doctors to resume work, saying: “We all must come together to address this situation.” The patient who brought the virus to Lagos on July 20, Liberian finance ministry employee Patrick Sawyer, was placed under quarantine at a private hospital. But even the basic registration fee at a private facility can cost roughly $200, a sum which only a tiny minority of Lagosians can afford. If Lagos sees more Ebola cases, public hospitals will need to be operational if Nigeria hopes to contain a spread of the virus, officials say. Since the start of the year, Ebola has killed nearly 1,000 people and infected more than 1,700, mostly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. www.jaybossnews.com/2014/08/nigeria-doctor-suspends-5-weeks-strike.html?m=1

The spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Fan Ndubuoke, said that the passenger started shouting when all the passengers were already seated in the plane and the aircraft was about to push back. While shouting, he headed to the exit door, opened it and jumped out of the aircraft. He claimed there was fire in the Cabin and this caused pandemonium on board which resulted in all other passengers scampering for safety. The Airline in line with Standard and Recommended Practices immediately de-boarded all passengers. On investigation, it was discovered that the passenger was erroneously referring to a smoke emitting from the ground power unit that was in use at that time. To assure the passengers of their safety, Aero Contractors provided another aircraft to operate the scheduled flight whilst nothing was wrong with initial one deployed.Continue Reading

Team Nigeria are number 8 on the medals table with 8 gold, 6 Silver and 11 Bronze medals at the Common Wealth games in Glasgow Scotland, 25 medals in total. Nigeria is even ahead of Jamaica, I am so happy for this but the women are the ones that are really doing us proud because they dominate the competition in my opinion. Where are the men ? Don't let me down guys What do you think about this year's Common Wealth games? I want to hear from you in the comments...... www.jaybossnews.com/2014/08/nigeria-ladies-dominates-in-glasgow.html?m=1

The panel sitting which was attended by all seven members, despite Wednesday’s purported sitting at Karu local government by the 20 PDP lawmakers, with a resolution directing the chief judge to reconstitute the panel. Chairman of the probe panel, Mr Yusuf Usman, speaks on the panel sitting and the lawmakers’ resolution to re- constitute its membership, the procedures and sitting arrangements. Meanwhile, governor Tanko Al-makura describes Wednesday’s sitting of the 20 PDP lawmakers in Karu, where the resolution was taken, directing the State’s Chief Judge to re-constitute the probe panel, as legislative insanity. Mister Al-Makura while speaking through his senior special assistant on public affairs, accused the lawmakers of deliberating and deciding on a matter that is competently, before the State’s Chief judge, as the resolution amounts to nothing but illegality and runs contrary to subsisting Supreme court’s decision. The 20 PDP lawmakers have abandoned the assembly complex following mass protest in support of the governor, hence the decision to relocate to Karu, a border town to the federal capital territory where the said resolution was passed, directing the Chief Judge to reconstitute the prob panel. www.jaybossnews.com/2014/07/al-makura-describes-lawmakers-sitting.html?m=1
