The lawmakers fled the state Assembly Complex in Lafia
the state capital following widespread protest by citizens
over the impeachment process the PDP dominated
lawmakers launched against the Governor of the state,
Umaru Al-Makura, who is an APC member.

The highly anticipated movie adapted from Chimamanda
Ngozi Adichie’s novel ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ would be in
Cinemas across Nigeria from this Friday.

Half of a Yellow Sun which has been released in cinemas
in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand has been able
to generate Two Hundred and Eighty Million Naira
(N280,000,000) from cinema releases, in-flight right sales
and online viewing right sales. The movie is however
expected to do better in the Nigerian market as the
writer, producer and director are all Nigerians.

As the cinema release date of ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ for
the Nigerian market draws closer, heightened
expectations and excitement awaits the day as can be
seen in several posts on social media platforms.
Speaking to an official of Bigsam Media, an avid HOAYS
fan said “I can’t wait to get to the cinema on Friday, I am
sure it would be an unforgettable experience.”

According to Bigsam Media “HOAYS would be in cinemas
from this Friday and we are expecting it to do better than
what it did abroad. This movie is for Nigeria, from Nigeria,
by Nigeria and we are sure that it would perform beyond
our expectations.”

The movie which was to be released earlier this year but
could not as a result of problems with the Nigerian Film
and Video Censors Board has however been approved for
release and would be in cinemas on August 1st.
The movie features BAFTA award winner and Oscar
nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, BAFTA award winner Thandie
Newton, Genevieve Nnaji, O.C. Ukeje, Zack orji and
Onyeka Onwenu.

The Deputy Governor of Kebbi, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu, lost a
son, Muazu Ibrahim Aliyu, 22, in an auto accident which
occurred on Tuesday on Birnin Kebbi-Jega road.
Aliyu, who addressed newsmen at his official residence in
Birnin Kebbi, described the deceased as “a very religious
and obedient boy who respected all.’’

He said the deceased was a 100 level Political Science
undergraduate at the newly established Federal University,
Birnin Kebbi,
He added that “I will forever remember him as somebody
close to me.’’

The deputy governor said that his late son died along with
his friend, Mubarak Bagudo, an undergraduate of Alhikmah
University in Kwara State.

“Only one of them survived the accident and is currently
receiving medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre,
Birnin Kebbi,” he said.

Meanwhile, top government officials and personalities had
been trooping to the residence of the deputy governor to
sympathise and condole with the family over the death.

The world as we know it, is changing at a dizzying rate that is how Nigeria music is changing.

Nigeria's entertainment industry is gradually climbing up the ladder.....it has grown to something bigger than what we use to see it before.

Imagine our Musicians hanging out and collaborating with foreign musicians like Wizkid hanging out with Chris Brown and Justin Bieber, Davido with Jennifer Hudson and Meek Mill and even recording a song with him.

We never saw this coming but we are seeing it today....what is the cause of this development? Is this because of the good music they are giving us or the fame or the money they have? I asked myself these questions without any answer.

I am always happy when I see them together because our musicians are considered even at the international level, it's remaining for them to give us good music that meets the international standard and will be appreciated globally.

What do you feel when you see Naija musicians with their foreign counterparts?

According to reports on scan news which I posted on my blog the Benue state primary school teachers eight months strike has ended and schools were supposed to resume this week, as today being Monday I thought classes will start today but that's not the case the schools are still locked.

I took this photos while passing through the NKST Upgraded Primary School Anyiin, a primary school in the home town of Gov. Gabriel Suswam.

The school was still locked, I saw nobody in the school.

What is happening? The strike was not called off or it was just a hype?

It's only in Nigeria that Laptops n Ipads are shared on a Vice President's daughter wedding, i heard that those Gadgets were too much on that day and the people that those gadgets were distributed to did not need them, they will just drop them in their stores and they will rust their while some of us that needs this things we won't get them, why is this country like this? this is our money in action o. God should take control.
