Queenlovely: I must confess I dont know the section to post this. But I have a serious question I must ask. Is it necessary to have a house in the village when you spend most of your life outside the village? My uncles hardly visit their mansions in the village. Other people are just occupying the property. They only come back once in a blue moon. They can just breeze in and breeze out tomorrow. My question now is, is it not better to have that mansion in the city, than rent an apartment in the city. You are a tenant in the city in one poor make-shift house, but own a duplex in the village that is empty. Is it even economically wise? It baffles logic and common sense. Dont give me that shity excuse about Home town and burial. Many ppl are like dt it's financial illiteracy |

Beverly1: Hi fellow Nlanders
I was born into Catholic faith and practice till I was 12 and I enjoyed it. My parent became deeper life member while we were living apart and now a pastor in that church. I re-united with them when I was 12 and since then I've been attending the church with them and still attend Catholic occasionally....I love the preaching from the founder of deeper life as he preaches the bitter truth but I believe most other young pastor see d church "doctrine" as commandment and so must be kept 100%.....the founder of the church addressed this issue several times but NO.
18 years on since we re-united, I'm a graduate, married and living abroad but my father still forcing his believe and doctrine on me. I considered myself spiritual but not so religious. I connect with my God easily but not a 3G church guy.
He made me and my siblings antisocial and introverted simply because he believed we shouldn't be involved in any social activities even sports. I still remember being beaten for playing soccer, he believes we would be influenced badly. Watching TV was a crime especially movies.
Fast forward to yesterday he rang my wife to check on us but the first question he asked was if we attend to church. I told him it's been raining and temperature was really low....then he started lamenting asking if I won't go to work if it wasn't Sunday, complaining about the country where I can't worship God...then to get me more exasperated he asked and insisted I tell him how many time I've been to church lately and how many times I've read d bible....I told him we've been attending but he insisted on a number.
This got me so mad that I stood up for myself under a heavy breathe as I do not want to disrespect him or hangup on him.I told him I do not appreciate being asked questions like a 10 yrs old boy and at my age I should know how to live my life and what's best for me.....he got angry and said goodbye and I guess he was still on d phone but I didn't know...I just hang up.....Now I've block him from reaching me ... planning to change my numbers.....but not any financial support. Only cutting all communication with him but not with my siblings as they mean more to me and I wanna see them through as much as God help me...
Please is this not an over reaction because I loved him as he's a very responsible man who puts the family first and strived to make us who we are. But we do not av a close relationship because of his believe even though he's been forcing it. u cut ties with ur father bc he want you to go to heaven, bro u need serious spiritual deliverance. The old man has not done enough to waranty this treatment |

BrotherJesu: My mum is very beautiful, and successful yoruba woman but dosent regard her husband a bit, Trouble got out hands when she got her first car and her husband who is an engineer doesnt have one yet,she then became pompous and over protective of the car that even those around; church and family knew that popxy doesnt own the car. Mumc is an established fashion designer and holds several positions in Nigerian Union ofTailors, as a result of this she comes home very late not givin any excus. As time goes by she stopped cooking him as she is always busy with work or travelling on state sponsored trips she does not bother to notify her husband whenever she is travelling. There was a day i was so angry kus even my friends have started to take note and it becoming embarrasing, so i spoke with her, while talking she broke down in tears, she said she is the one responsible for 80 percent of the house expenses that popcy recieves 400k monthly bt always complaining of bin broke, she said other things i cant really type here. This went own for a long time, they soon became enemies in the same house everyone going there way doing things differently, admist all these popsy has never rised his voice on her even when mumcy somethings did very annoing stuffs. In the heat of this, popsy impregnated another babe although i have never seen the woman nor the child since birth which is close to two years. Umaru Yaradua- Fulani tribe, Katsina State 15. Goodluck Jonathan- Ijaw tribe, Bayelsa state 16. Muhammadu Buhari- Fulani tribe, Katsina State
We have 16 of them in total.
1 Hausa President, 2 Igbo, 3 Yoruba, 1 Gere tribe, 4 Fulani, 1 Angas, 1 Nupe, 1 Gwari, 1 Kanuri, 1 Ijaw
In practice, Yoruba has only 2, Obasanjo and Shonekan, Igbo has 2, Azikwe and Ironsi, Fulani has 3, Buhari, Yaradua and Shagari, Hausa has only 1, Murtala, and Kanuri, Ijaw, Gere all have 1 each.
Does this justify igbo claim of marginalization?

yasmina85: My BF and I have been together fo years (6+). We both have good jobs, we're both well in our 30s, I think we love each other (I sure do) and we get along fine.
3 years ago, he wanted me to move in but I said no, not before marriage. Since then, it's been the status quo. We spend time together either at his place or mine. When I bring up going to my father he deflects with something like "don't worry, it's coming"; "I'll go when I'm ready, be patient"...
Last year, I got mad and sort of gave him an ultimatum. He said he would but was still draging his feet. I became bitter, he felt over pressured and we started fighting and arguing for everything. We eventually broke up and spent almost a year appart. He came back 6 months ago and things are like when we first met
The problem is, I feel like for him, it's a whole new relationship and we have to let it mature like any new RS. For me, we just took up where we left so we've been dating long enough. He either commit or leave me alone.
I don't want to lose him but I can't do this anymore. I really don't know why he can't bring himself to at least do the door knocking.
Please what can I do ?? Not every relationship ends in marriage Prepare for the worst and hope for d best This may not end well especially given ur age. U are not assertive enough at this stage in ur life you shld be assertive u r not younger anymore. I personally will not marry a woman above 30 yrs, I consider them too old. He can dump u at 35 n marry a 24 yr old in less than 6 months moves on easily leaving u shattered. |

Politics › Re: Nnamdi Kanu And The Igbo Downfall. by jaychubi: 4:30pm On Sep 14, 2017 |
mekaboy: WHY NNAMDI KANU MUST BE REJECTED BY IGBOS
A lot of people believe that Nnamdi kanu is fighting for the good of the igbos, and that something good will come out of this fight . But in my view, Kanu is actually directly or indirectly plotting the downfall of igbos. If Ojukwu was alive today, he would have warned him against such action . Below are some of the key reasons that form my opinion about him .
1, Lack of Administrative Ability : Ojukwu was educated and military governor, he knew what administration and coordination was all about. Nnamdi kanu is the opposite, he lacks the administrative ability. Even to run the agitation successfully . Ojukwu who had all this ability failed, is it now kanu banking on a group of touts and jobless youths that will succeed ? Is the Igbo Marginalization also the reason kanu did not achieve anything in Britain ?
2,Kanu is building a Nation on Hatred: Kanu started his crusade on hate speech, which is a very wrong foundation . A nation built on hatred will be destroyed by hate. Hatred becomes the culture of that nation . If they people do not see any external people to hate, they start to hate and destroy themselves. If you eventually get the Biafran Nation, how will you relate with other nations that you have taught your people to hate? Can Biafra survive alone without other ethnic groups ? Hatred is more destructive than productive .
3, Disrespect for elders : Nnamdi Kanu in several occasions have shown total disrespect for elders and OHANAEZE NDIGBO. He might claim they have sold out and do not have interest of the Igbos. But he is a role model to his followers, which means the biafran nation will be one without respect for elders.
4, Destruction of the Igbo economy : It is easier to destroy than to build. It takes a day to bring down a building, but takes months or years to build one. Nnamdi Kanu has never successfully created anything, therefore its easy for him to want to destroy the investment of others. He has never built a successful business or company, which is why he cares less of what happens to the investment of others outside Igbo land .Preaching a message of hate for the North, where a lot of igbos have investments and successful businesses is counter productive .
Even their confrontation with the Nigerian Army in Aba, will result in a state of emergency. It is the igbo businesses that will be affected and not the Northerners. It's easy for him to ask Igbos to leave the north and move down to the east because he has no investment anywhere. He has no investment in UK or Nigeria, so he can easily park his bags and leave UK for Nigeria and move back to UK. He has no investment, company or workers who depend on him for livelihood. So he assumes every igbo person can pack their bags and leave anytime like he does . The Igbos have come a long way, after the war, we lost our money in the banks and were given just 20 pounds, today we have risen to enviable heights . Kanu wants to set igbos back economically . When an Igbo man loses his investment outside Igbo land, the igbo economy is being negatively affected. Someone without an investment won't understand it .
5,Political Setback : Kanu does not understand that there is nothing he can achieve in Nigeria without the politicians and the constitution . Asking his followers not to participate in elections, burn their voters card etc, will negatively affect Igbo's politically . even the referendum they seek, will still need voters card to be conducted . By 2019, the population of igbo voters will be reduced, those who have cards will not vote, and Igbo's will be sidelined once again . This is aimed at destabilizing igbos politically, and will have negative consequences in the long run .
6,Victim Mentality : Nnamdi Kanu has never distinguished himself in any area in life. He has not built a successful carrier or business, therefore unfit to be a role model for igbo youths . Alot of prominent sucesful igbo people have become something from Nothing . The hausas and yorubas, you will always trace the source of their wealth to family . But for igbos, most of the wealthy made it without help . Now the stories of people like innoson, coscharis and alot of other igbo business men should be the motivation for upcoming igbo youths. Rather Nnamdi kanu is making them lazy, believing that someone in the north is the reason for their failure and they can't succeed in Nigeria unless Biafra comes. Fine, igbos are marginalized , but that should be a challenge for the igbos to work hard to succeed in every area they choose. Since we do not have the level of support or advantage of the North and SW who continued to enjoy Nigeria and occupy positions during and after the civil war, igbo youths should not engage in idleness.
There is no time to waste sitting around, pointing fingers at the North . The stories of the successful igbo sons and daughters should be a motivation and not the victim mentality preached by kanu . The new breed of igbos kanu is raising are not the hardworking "go getter" type. But those who will sit idle, not improve on their lives, waiting for biafra to come before the succeed . that is not the message we need in Igbo land. Its only someone like Kanu who did not achieve anything in Nigeria and even in UK with lots of opportunities , that can be preaching such a message laziness and blame games.
7,Wasting Igbo lives : The greatest investment anyone can make is in human beings . Those countries we called developed today, did not become developed because of natural resources. They became developed because they invested in people. Today igbo youths are dying for something that will not happen . Igbos are losing potentials that would have been harnessed to be more productive .
8, Inconsistency : Kanu is not consistent, he is a politician. He is looking for a reward in all this and will eventually sell to the highest bidder. The same kanu that preached hate for the yorubas, asked igbos not to attend yoruba churches, began to dine and wine with FFK and Fayose. Saying the Yoruba's have changed. What exactly changed ?
He spoke with so much hate about the hausas, and later said he does not hate them, he loves yaraudua etc. So if he loved yaradua and hates buhari, then why preach hatred against the entire north. Why not tell igbos buhari is their enemy and not the north ? If he loves yaradua and hates buhari, then his agitation is political and against buhari as a person . With this level of inconsistency, its clear it won't be hard for him to change his stand when he gets the right offer .
My advice to Igbo Youths, most positions in cooperate organizations and government are occupied by the north and the SW because of the civil war. We have managed to catch-up without government support. Dont sit idle and listen to Kanus hate message and victim mentality. Work hard legitimately, if you can't afford university education, find a skill and master it immediately . Invest in your future, read, learn and work hard, the sky will be your starting point. Spot on u r cerebral Kanu is a failure in his life can u imagine a man of his age still living in his father's house. Igbo youths shld embrace their entrepreneurship and make something out of their lives. Igbos are economically ahead of any tribe in Nigeria when looked at wholistically we are not lazy n begging is outlawed. FG is stupid too y molest innocent ppl when he can arrest kanu and lock forever so than peace can reign |
