Ticket to Canada right now for one person is about 320k or more. How do you convince the visa officer to give you a visa with less than 500k in your account and you're married with 2 kids?
Hi, please is an invitation letter and insurance letter necessary when applying for tourist visa? Thanks

Hi,
Calm down
Will suggest you get another masters if possible related to your experience or better still an MBA/JD- with law specialisation. If not,let your hubby apply first. Then you can apply for SOWP afterwards.
Your kids shld not need a visa considering the fact that they are US born.
The only issue I think you may have with you applying will be purpose of visit with a pgd or diploma.
Hope you had the kids in the US with a medical visa and all bills sorted? And if with a visit visa, did you inform the US embassy of your intentions to have them there? Am asking because Canada and US share infos.
As per the UCI number, check your mails or achive to see if you can get it , if not they sure have a way of getting that when next you apply.
All the same, with God all things are possible
All the best.
OK, I guess my husband should apply then since I may not be able to get straight masters degree. I used a b1/b2 visa for my kids birth (tourism/medical)and also sent mails before both birth to inform the embassy, paid my bills in full and have the zero balance letters(proof of full payment) .i recently renewed my visa and didn't get questioned by them because I guess they checked my record and noted that I wasn't in debt. We both intend applying for visitors visa first then later study visa for any of us who is better qualified for it.thanks alot

You have wrote well, but point of correction, your grade where not bad, having a third class is not a big deal, you can still proceed for your program, I will advice two options.
Its either you go for a bridging program by transferring credits, or pgd.
but the problem there is how to convince the VO with those options, because age matters.
Because mostly, 90 percent of applicants that were refused TRV under PGD are purpose of study and all other options.
Wish you good luck.
Exactly, because I am already 32years old. So confuse

Good day everyone,
I have a few questions I need your help with please. I will appreciate your advices on this issue. 2014 I applied for Canadian study permit for myself and visitors visa for my husband using diploma in business administration (which should be one of the areas I messed up because I have been to law school and have a masters degree from a UK university although my first degree was seriously messed up.....third class from a Nigerian university) . I was really depressed after the denial and out of my stupid anger deleted all my log in details. I have tried remembering anything that can help me access the old application but can't and I have been told I need a certain number from that application. Please what do I do because I intend applying for a visitors visa first then later apply for the study permit to boost my chances(just guessing). Please what schools in ontario can offer me masters degree considering my 'bad first degree' or what course/level can I apply for to enable me get the study permit or should my husband apply for the study permit while I do the visitors visa to accompany him since he has just first degree although he made 2:2 and I know most schools accept just 2:1. Also, while trying to get over the depression caused by the study permit denial, I got pregnant and delivered twins so now I have 3 kids all under 3years who are American citizens by birth but I was told they also need to apply for tourists visa along with my husband(please how true is this?). I work with one of the paramilitary organizations in Nigeria along with my husband and in our previous application, we went through the online route but would like to go through the paper route now. Please permit my long epistle, I really need your advice. Thanks alot !@ Just wise, please I sent a copy to you. Thanks

i do not think you should cut a draft, instead, just have your husband include his SOA, no waste money to raise draft jor.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Jaydenehis: 7:12pm On Oct 02, 2014
Please help ooooooooooo, my sponsor stated that my husband will be adding a bank draft to my application along with his soa which is ordinarily suppose to be enough but I decided he shouldn't buy d bank draft again because i'm not sure which bank I should use.the bank draft was to be issued in my name as additional fund. Will this be of any significance? Thanks

Thank you so so much
Holmes007:

No need to re-edit anything, so far as the sentence makes sense, u r good.
My friend and i literally stated it on our SOP and it flew.
For instance, u can say " After i complete my graduate program, i would return to Nigeria with my newly developed and sophisticated ideas not only to make a positive impact on the various segments of the Nigerian govt but be a landmark for upcoming (engineers/ur field)............" OR
"Upon completion my Master's program and arrival back to Nigeria, I would make a meaning contribution, utilizing my international exper, ................ " and so on and so forth....

The main thing is for you to be very constructive and frank(straight to the point).

i hope this helps.....

well accord to me, I really don't know about others opinion, I will advice you not to expressly state it...u can replace it with stuff like pdg or masters in this and that will be career booster for me back home, of course they expect u to come back. just try and sync it with ur Job or career path.

he should not literally write in his SOP that he is coming back... it should be deduced by the VO's themselves. thanks

I am not arguing with you nor saying that you are not an Official. I replied based on a friend's experience and how she went through the whole passport scenerio.

i dont know it all and i am not here to argue with anyone.

Lol,this is the same issue my colleagues and I discussed about when I renewed mine last month.there are so many illegal amounts added that have now been accepted as legal because we can't fight our superiors who make such charges. I hope the system changes soon though. Still, since we can't do anything about it now, lets make do for now,God help Nigeria
opsynusy: if it is done legally why should one spend extra amount and the normal rule should be 12months and not 6months then...which one is head and back door,lol...people that pays for express, you attend to them immediately and you leave those that have been waiting for weeks just because they don't have money for express!,is that legal?is that head or back door Infact it's the people that paid normal amount that are kept at the back door! Naija, its the wrong things that are legal
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Jaydenehis: 9:58am On Sep 30, 2014
Oga playpays,no one knows it all. I only stated what I stated to help the person who was worried and u have absolutely no reason to start stating unnecessary issues. People here have good travel history and keep mute about it. This is a forum and I felt everyone had the ryt to contribute and help out,i didn't realise only those who have gotten their TRV are allowed to speak. You will be amazed if u find out d calibre of people that visit this forum.we are all here to learn.

Really, well send me a pm and get the command I will not disclose my identity to you or ask you to meet me up or call me. You simply go to the command and contact any officer on uniform and tell them what you want to do but please when you or whoever you send gets it SAME DAY or within three days (depends on the availability of materials) please come back and share the good news here.
PlayPays:

Thanks for this. People have tried it and came back here to report how they couldn't get it done. Ideally they will only renew for 6months or less validity and someone just mentioned about writing a letter to abuja alongside ur school acceptance letter, which sounds good.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Jaydenehis: 2:59am On Sep 30, 2014
I am tired of arguing .. I work with immigration. I know what I am saying. Please every command is different. I was only trying to give my advice since it is my field. Read my other comments, dont u think it is better to ask which commands you can do it than argue? I didn't start working there yesterday and no, I am not a junior officer at all. I am actually the 2nd in charge in my section. This is directed at your comment that your folks contacted senior officers. Many people in this forum are vast in knowledge in their various fields and are here because they don't like the working condition in Nigeria hence the need to relocate. I have received a lot of useful advice from this forum and even experts in visa applications marvel when they hear the kind of positive and useful advice I get from here. We are all here to get advice and help others. Thanks
Holmes007:

Trust me, my friend did all the convincing she could when she wanted to apply in July, her passport was more than 9 months valid but wanted a 2yrs study visa. Her parents even called top officials for help but they all said the same thing; WRITE A LETTER!
she had to go to Abuja to renew it.

There is no need to stress the issue. The applicant should go to the nearest NIS around to make enquiries.

opsynusy: nah..my passport expires march 15 2015,i was at NIS august and they told me to wait till sept 15...I don't think a 9month valid passport can be renewed, well it's nigeria, anything can happen
it can be re-issued,only letting you know because it is our job. I am not saying maybe or maybe not.i work with immigration so I was only giving my advice because I tot it cud help. People whose passport expires nxt year June renew @ my command and this is not hear-say. Like I said before, everything is at the discretion of the passport control officer in each state because he/she heads the unit. @ your comment 'anything can happen in Nigeria' it is done legally because at least they apply through the head and not back door. You were probably at a strict command or at the SHQ and met an officer who is on the strict side. Good luck

Hi,
Please,if you really need to get a new passport,go to the nearest command or passport office. As long as the validity ain't more than 12months,u get a new one with proof to convince them why u need a new one.
Holmes007:

For peeps that hold a passport which has less than 6months validity; they should kindly go to the nearest immigration office around and renew their passport.

For peeps that hold a passport in which its validity is more than 6months and will not cover their period of study in Canada; they are required to write a letter to the director-general of NIS at Abuja stating why they need a new passport. They should also attach their admission letter with the letter OR simply renew at Canada when its about to expire.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Jaydenehis: 9:05pm On Sep 29, 2014
They will do it if you give them a valid reason why you can't wait for the expiration date. They do it at my command but charge extra for it.every state has different policy and price that's the plain truth
opsynusy: NIS won't do it for you until it's 6months to the expiry date, you can still use it if it's still valid for 10months
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Jaydenehis: 8:59pm On Sep 29, 2014
NIS can issue you a new passport with 9months validity. Go to your nearest state command or passport office. At the command where I work, they do so but charge a little extra.
PlayPays:

What experience are you writing from? Everything you wrote just 100% wrong!
Cic doesn't issue permit for any study of 6 months or less.
And CIC won't issue visa more than ur passport validity, they rather return ur passport for you to go renew it before issuing ur visa.
And cic will never deny someone with excuse of 'purpose of visit' for such.
And lastly I don't think NIS would renew a passport that still have up to 9 months on it.

I may not be in the best position to say this but ps whatever you do remember that delay isn't denial and remember also that depression solves nothing.ps pray and refire with advice from d guru's here God will see you thru

Got this mail from Vfs dis afternoon saying they have dispatched my passport(without medicals). I applied ist of april via paper route. Yet to know what their reason was. Check University of Windsor if the school offers a program you may like. A bit expensive but you are most likely to gain admission.

Oga/madam, they sent a mail to me asking me to apply thru their any of their authorised agents, I used treasure chest and wasn't charged a dime for it apart from the 100$ application fee and that was how I got the PGD. Please google them or I can give u their number.try calling the school, ask of innocent evbota then try applying on your own now. Don't know why they insisted but they did. If still in doubt, I can send my details 2 you so u ask d sch about my application history. I'm explaining because you make it seem like I just don't know what i'm doing.

Just before u make the decision of going for a second Masters and paying the $95-$100 application fees while considering ur undagrad CGPA. U must understand that Canadian Universities have minimum requirements which is usually 2.1 or 1st class, rarely 2.2 for Nigerian schools but i wouldnt know if law school counts (work experience counts but not as academics). But u did Masters in UK, u should be able to apply for a 2nd Masters or PHD irrespective of ur Undergrad results (not 100% sure).
My advice, contact each academic unit u r interested in before thinking of applying for a 2nd Masters or PHD.
