This is pure black man or hatred mentality. I wonder what your constitution says concerning threats to life.
God will not forgive me if I bear any form of hatred for this ethnic group with great minds!

I have received some of the most hospitable treatment from my igbo friends.

My one time visit to Aba was in the company of a friend who lived there. I left all of the prejudices I had heard about the Igbos and trusted him and he didn't disappoint me, he made my stay very comfortable.

So, forget that talk about hatred cause I hold this discussion with some of them, I'm that comfortable to hold the conversation on this topic with them. But I certainly cannot try that with those semi-literate IPOB miscreants! shouting Biafra upandan, cause they might lynch me.

The question is, "can kanu be classified as a leader?".

I'm even more worried about the psychological effects these experiences would have on military officers of igbo extraction and innocent ones amongst the civilians.

Kanu had the option of choosing between being a "hero" or a "curse", unfortunately, he chose the latter.

We're saying the same thing. All these chaos happened b'cos the fg didn't calculate well. Even when Anini the notorious criminal was arrested, armoured tanks weren't used. You don't scare people with these weapons and expect them not to panic.
When you receive life threats from people, don't take any action and let chance decide whether you live or die.

How is it that you are waving off or refusing to see the threat to peace caused by kanu before his arrest and after his release?

FG would have been irresponsible not to act; and who knows the catastrophe would have come in epic proportions.

It's sad we had to lose independent minds (who may have championed the next ground breaking innovations) over this, but we can never leave things to CHANCE when it borders on peace and human lives.

I believe that these guys were defenceless b'cos as I type this, I am yet to see or hear of any casualty on the side of the military. Why carry armoured tanks to someone's house who has not been indicted of any murder case, why not wait since he'll be in Abuja next week for his case with the fg and arrest him. Honestly this is abuse of firearms and weapons of war, you now see why the intl communities are finding it so difficult to sell weapons to Nigerian govnt. I am not taking side with the IPOB but you don't throw away the baby with the bathing water. This is act of terrorism on the side of the fg.
The clash at Oyingbo between IPOB and Hausas left an officer dead and then there's the case of arson- only God knows what happened to the criminals locked up in the cells of those police stations that were burnt down.

This is just utter chaos!

I have seen on TV Americans pelt their military during times of civil unrest. The only difference is that the American military only use live ammunition as last resort.

For the barbaric Nigerian soldier, it is the only resort
I'm yet to even see a situation where the American army is deployed to quell violent protests in the US or any advanced country for that matter. The most I have seen is the use of rubber bullets, water cannons and some other means of subduing violent protesters. And in those cases the use of force is carried out by the right law enforcement agencies like the police and that's because most armies aren't trained to maintain peace in a civil order rather they are trained to handle things militarily.

But here in Nigeria, our law enforcement agents have become a shadow of themselves such that when faced with such a large group of protestants, they are always intimidated/ overwhelmed and most of the time are unable to maintain peace, hence, the reason why the military is deployed to assist them in most cases.

Even if you must pelt them with stones, should they overstep to the extent of disarming an armed soldier- ref. Isigate occurrence

We know that protests in this country have in the past been hijacked by hoodlums, who go to the extent of attacking law enforcement agencies for the purpose of stealing arms to carry out other nefarious activities.

It's unfortunate that an armed Nigerian soldier will never allow such a situation cause they could end up losing their lives - we have also read of such incidences with IPOB.

If I were an armed soldier, I certainly would not allow some stubborn civilian to come disarm me even if their weapons are sticks and bottles, they may succeed and end my life and those of my colleagues.

Self determination is your right but kanu is definitely the f00l here. He wanted a situation where igbos would be killed, so he can have a case at the international community but unfortunately no human can predict the behaviour of his fellow human all the time.

So you think Solidiers are meant to shoot unarmed people who confront them? That is murder, its just that Nigeria is an uncivilised place where the rule of law does not exist.

Can you imagine if it were America or Germany and the Soldiers gunned down unarmed peopl. And when the Soldiers were asked why they did this, they say they were "confronted" or "challenged".

The Soldiers would be in a Military court the next day on murder charges.

This sort of backward Nigeria where life and the rule of law doesnt mean anything isnt what I want my fellow Igbos to belong to. It is a nation of darkness and we should aim higher than this
It's a pity lives had to be lost for that albino. In response to your question, no, it can't happen in the US because they have civilised citizens who would never go to the extent of pelting their security forces with rocks or as far as disarming a military officer like we read some time back!

Peace begets peace.

I have listened to the major international media stations and not a single one of them deems this fit for reportage. But let's assume I missed it when they read it, they are largely uninterested about the whole nonsense.

PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Ndigbo Press Statement On Operation Python Dance by jayloms:
It is quite unfortunate the trauma Nnamdi Kanu's IPOB has brought upon anti-Biafra igbos in the SE and other regions.

What is more unfortunate, however, is the missed opportunity he had to channel the struggle instead for restructuring; which would have made him a national leader across the Southern regions and some parts of the North.

It is very shameful that an apex socio cultural group as Ohaneze, with all it's acclaimed weight, could not prevail on Kanu, in all their elderly wisdom, to fight instead for restructuring, which would have opened up channels for dialogue on the way forward.

It is however apparent that the call for restructuring cannot be shoved aside any longer, we would ultimately have to go back to the drawing board sooner or later, else, we would run into more of these agitations in the coming future.

I have given you one "like" since you are in so much need of it. Now, you give me one difference between IPOB and Boko Haram.

I'm sure you CAN'T but I'd sure love to be disappointed.
PoliticsRe: Army Probes Video Of Soldiers Assaulting IPOB Members by jayloms:
It's too bad that the military is involved in this, and that's only because of the way and manner IPOB conducted themselves.

The army, unlike other law enforcement agents, are not trained to restore law and order in a civil way; they are rather trained to eliminate every threat to peace, hence the reason we are reading of stories of maltreatment from them - even though we are yet to verify the authenticity of the claims.

Kanu has led his illiterate followers to cross the line, they should pray that they don't get listed as a terrorist militia.

Boko Haram hoisted their flags in the NE and declared some part of the region theirs. They were led by religious extremists and labelled those who didn't submit to their views as infidels and deserved no less a treatment than death. They were treated initially with kid gloves until it became out of hand - the result today is the destruction of the NE region.

Today, Kanu has hoisted his flag in the SE, calling it biafraland even though Biafra ceased in '69. He has brainwashed, this time, with ethno-supremacist views, instigated genocide with hate speeches etc. Even when the FG decided to be lenient he remained stubborn.

What are the differences between the early stages of Boko Haram and IPOB?

If IPOB were to be armed, is it not evidential that they'd toe the same path as Boko Haram?

Let's not deceive ourselves, you cannot tell me you are peaceful when you're perceptibly violent. You dare not speak in opposition to the Biafra movement in a gathering with more pro-Biafrans, you'd see the intolerance in them even to the igbos with anti-Biafra views. Yet they claim peaceful.

It's too bad they want to mess up the region, just too bad!
PoliticsRe: Army Aircraft Hovers Around Nnamdi Kanu's Home; IPOB Members Arrested (Video) by jayloms:
One too many conflicting stories!!

First, they laid siege on his house.

Then IPOB members arrived in their numbers from different parts of the East - seeing the crowd, the NA retreated.

And then we were told Kanu was about addressing his members.

Now, it is soldiers arresting IPOB members.

You all said Nigeria will burn should Kanu be re-arrested and as such, Biafra would become a reality within a much shorter time frame.

Question now is, why fight against his re-arrest, as that action, from "your logic", is all that would make the zoo burn and simultaneously birth the land of the rising sun.

It's quite confusing!

Kanu is fast becoming a word synonymous to "boastful rants". You all should stop kanuing already!

I'm sure the part of the Bible that spoke about removing the log (Electric pole in d case of Nigerians) from our eyes before removing the speck from that of others, was directed specifically to Nigeria/ns.

We never see the wrong in our actions but quickly point out the wrongs of others!
