EFCC go soon stat dem own drama now.No. it won't. Remember Atiku is not a yoruba man like Bode George. |
RichyBlacK:I think you are being really harsh ! Just because tpia and SEFAGO have different views on Akunyili’s action doesn’t warrant you calling them Yoruba ethnic bigots. You are way out of line. It can very difficult atimes serving under a President in a democratic setting. There are lots of policies/actions that are going to be undertaken by the govt that a minister (for instance) would not agree with, but you as a minister cannot go out in public to criticize the policy. You either have to stand by the President or resign. The problem with Akunyili is that she is serving in Yar’adua’s govt, so she cannot ask him to step down. She can offer advise in this regard, but writing a memo and asking him to step down while still serving under the President is wrong in my opinion. She has breached protocol. |
Moderator, please move this to Foreign Affairs. Thanks. |
If this was coming from Turai, then I'll be more optimistic. I don't know about this Abba Aji fella. Has he spoken to the President ? Has he been assured by the Northern cabal ? Abeg, Let's just wait and see. |
Why didn't the minister address the gas supply issue then ? It is an open secret that gas supply to the power stations is a major stumbling block in power generation in Nigeria. He had the entire 2009 to address it - so what is his excuse ? I know that the man has an enormous task at hand, but for him to blame the govt's inability to attain 6,000 MW on lack of gas is pitiful because this is an open secret and the man had the entire 2009 to address this. |
SEFAGO:bravo ! I couldn't agree with you more. How can you ask the man to step down and continue to serve in his government ? her decision to write this memo was not well thought out at all. |
I think it is up to parents to teach their culture to their children. Those marrying inter-culturally must agree before hand on passing on their cultures to their children. As far as marrying other races, I think people should marry whomever they fall in love with regardless of race. As long as the two adults share similar taste and values and the marriage is really based on love. Besides, many beautiful children of the world are of mixed races e.g. Barak Obama, Haile Berry etc. |
Na waa ooh. Someone is in love ![]() Where is the aisha lady seff ? |

jumobi1:you are right, it is going to cost more than 100 billion dollars. but if the environment is right, investors will come. and our environment is more than right. my brother, do you know how much money one stands to make in the power sector ? The demand for power is so huge. the telecoms are making billions of naira every month and this pales to the demand for electricity. we need more than one investor, no one is going to come up with $100 billion all by themself. The problem we have now is that, there is still govt intervention with the privitization scheme being put in place. The govt will be transmitting the power generated by the private firms under the proposed scheme. This makes it less attractive - the power generators are not directly dealing with the final consumers as is the case with the telecoms. |
Listen, we need private funds to help build the power sector. The reason gsm is successful is because it is private sector driven. MTN, GLO, ZAIN etc came in with their funds, built their lines and pay their taxes. There is no way PHCN can provide 24 hour uninterrupted power supply as presently constituted. The power sector needs to be fully privitized for us to reach the promise land. As someone said on another thread, complete power privitization would overwhelmingly favour Southern Nigeria because it is the backbone of commerce and industry in Nigeria. |
sjeezy8:ROFL. i think so too ![]() |
All you need is a third grade education (primary 3) to know yar'adua favours the north in his appointments. kudos to abubakar umar. |
@poster, you need to reword your thread to some Nigerians, not Nigerians. You did go to school, didn't you ? |
