Where is that loudmouthed igbo dunce, Prof Chidi Odinkalu, the chairman of NHRC ? That slowpoke called FFK a tribalist and said that the Fulani herdsmen can rear their cattles anywhere in Nigeria.

Fulani herdsmen are tse-tse flies and Igbos are leeches. Both tribes need to be fumigated and done are away with so that Nigeria can become a better place
Nothing concern Igbo for this na. This problem affects Yoruba Igbo NC zone alike. It is a national problem and it is time a holistic solution which involves the Government and the affected communities is found and implemented.

Is she naturally fair?- yes

Is she using bleaching lotions to enhance her complexion? - yes, take a look at her. Have you seen any of her recent movies?

Trashy? - yes, it has categories. And she is trashy.

Does this picture look classy to you? Can you put her in the same class as Mervy Aigbe? NO
A bleached person is someone that was black then had to transform. If she bleach, from what color to what? What class has mercy that Laide doesn't have? How do you define class or trash. What are the controversies you hear about her that made you classify her as trashy.
I don't like her because her acting is neither her nor there, but she has her own class and in my opinion she is never trashy. She is just a hard working mother and business woman minding her own business and she is like those hungry (advance olosho) actresses.

Guy are you still on this

OK Yoruba formed Hollywood Bollywood and Nollywood

If that will make you happy

But it is Igbo culture that is made popular

Olu Jacobs acts igwe not oba or baale

Maybe igwe is a Yoruba word
Just say you ignorant folks know Olu Jacobs when you started your waka pass "fast food" movies. Olu Jacobs, Joke Sylvia, Ajayi lycett Were A list acts that have been popular way before your 2 hours production movies. Many Yoruba actors read theatre acts and started with stage plays. You have professors PHD holders, lecturers among them. Some did not even bother to cross over to those your waka pass movies, they found fame and fortune doing Yoruba movies and they are still doing purely Yoruba films till today. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, there are some names that I was used to, some are active in the industry till date.
The argument wasn't about who started what movies in Nigeria, the thread was initially about non Yoruba acts that have been well assimilated in the industry that you would be surprised that they are not yorubas (some names came to me as a surprise). It was your folks (who are so full of inferiority complex) that derailed the thread with their hallucinations and delusions that they started the movie industry in Nigeria. Pathetic bunch you lots are.

I don't care about the people that watched your yoruba movies. Conduct a poll and people will tell you they don't know the movies you keep mentioning.
Nollywood started off with the production of living in bondage not your random yoruba movies. Read and understand before throwing tribalistic comments all over this thread. I will write it once again: Pre 1992 movies are not nollywood movies.
Living in Bondage is nollywood and set off the movie industry in Nigeria!
If pre 92 films are not nollywood? what are they? Hollywood? Bollywood or Ghollywood? Living in bondage was produced in Igbo language, so was Yoruba films produced before it. You don't even have a single film on celluloid and cinema, we have produced tons both on cinema and VHS many years before you guys even ventured. We started the film business in all ramifications 30 years before the Igbos even conceptualized it. How many Igbo language films do you guys even have? It can be counted by the fingers.

As difficult as it sounds, the popularity of Olu Jacobs in this generation as far as movies are concerned has to do with his roles in nollywood usually in an Igbo garb. How many people have watched those movies you mentioned? Even Olu knows that his success is tied to nollywood. Those veteran actors that couldn't cross over to nollywood remained in oblivion.
Define Nollywood in one sentence.

And how many people were watching those movies apart from elite people Western Nigeria? You all can huff and puff,it doesn't change the history of nollywood. When the world wants to celebrate nollywood, they know the pioneers that deserve the praise and honour.
You can check documentries by international media houses, they have already covered the history of nollywood.
Maybe you were still young then or you weren't born then or you haven't been to Lagos then. These were the movies people see in Lagos which is the capital then. Do you expect the Yorubas to produce Igbo films for the consumption of Umuleri and Aguleri folks?

You this osu cave dweller. Was it soap operas we paid money to go see at National theater in those days? Truth is National theater died when Yorubas stopped producing cinema films due to the proliferation of VHS machines. Those films were very expensive to produce and their quality is at par with any in Europe and America. They were exported and screened abroad. Your people entered the industry when e don turn pure water. Churning out tasteless low quality wacky waka pass Part 1-99 films shot and produced in less than 2 hours. Ola Balogun and Hubert Ogunde pioneered movie production in Nigeria. Yorubas have been doing films in Yoruba Language in Celluloid cinema, tv and VHS before you charlatans entered the scene and spoiled the industry.

I'm not a fan of any version of Nollywood, but when I mistakenly watch the Yoruba and the English Nolly, I always prefer the Yoruba.

If you talk of 'No substance at all' and unnecessary part 1 to part 100, turn to English Nolly. Just sprinkles of standout producers like Kunle Afolayan are helping salvage the poor industry.
There are lots of wack Yoruba films out there, but they have always been churning out very quality works by the very best producers in the land. Mainframe pictures (opomulero) Antar Laniyan, preceded by the pioneers like Hubert Ogunde. Their historical films are superb, those historical films done in the 70s and 80s will keep you spell bound in terms of content and quality. Kunle Afolayan only learnt from the masters.

Before the term Nollywood, before NEK VIDEO
LINKS's living in bondage, Yorubas have been
producing movies though mostly for cinemas, but
they were also distributed on videos also.
Yorubas were the pioneers of the movie industry
in Nigeria. Movie production did not start i
Nigeria in 1992. Jide kosoko, Bello, Baba sala,
Baba suwe, Pappy luwe, Jagua, Ajirebi (pa james)
Fadeyo oloro, Ogogo Orisabunmi et al were
already very popular and were household names
before living in bondage came out in 1992.

Enough of all these religious nonsense. Religion and worship is personal. Anyone that is Catholic, protestant, moslem or chooses to worship stick, tree, moon, sun, iron, water etc etc is his/her personal choice. While on earth, let good interpersonal relationships rule, when we all meet on the last day, we will know all the truth that is hidden.

Politics › Re: Ministerial Nomination: We Won't Endorse Amaechi, Rivers Senators Insist by jaymichael(m): 8:20am On Oct 11, 2015
ziccoit:
Amaechi nomination as a minister, and many others as contained in the list, serves a big blow to the opposition PDP and a plus to the ruling party APC. In emerging democracy like ours, political value of an individual holding an office is as important as his ability to deliver on his campaign promises.

Let's use Amaechi as a case study. Having a dogged fighter like Amaechi as a minister from river state is like having two governors in that state. He is definitely going to ensure the continuity of APC in the state by sort of clipping the wings of Wike if he eventually survives the tribunal case. Wike and PDP know what they are going to contend with in Amaechi. They would have preferred a pure technocrat who will not add any political value to APC.

GEJ administration started failing by the ways the so called technocrats such as Okonjo handled some issues. Close to last election, there were several times Okonjo raised alarms about the deplorable state of Nigeria economy giving people sense of hopelessness under GEJ if he was to continue in government. Okonjo would have handled the situation differently if she was happened to be political technocrat.

I strongly believed the 21 men nominated were not the original list of PMB. Never! He was probably enlightened on how performance alone would not ensure continuity of APC government at the center without adding political value.

Example, Falana vs Fayemi from EKITI state. Falana is expected to deliver more but with zero political value while Fayemi is going to perform and add great political value to his state and party.

So, politics in about calculation not bread and butter as many people think here.
You are absolutely correct.
