Mzyouzee1: A friend who made a 2.2 went for a job interview and came bck crying....employers should stop putting a limitation on jobs over degrees...I knw alot of pple who made 2.2 and even 3rd class dat have much more to offer dan some who made 2.1....it makes tins difficult....why not try then based on there ability and not some shitty certificate! True. I finished with a 2.2. Narrowly missed a 2.1 by 0.04. But now in a far better position than the 2.1s and 1st classes of my set. Companies overseas don't necessarily care about your grade points. As long as you graduated, you have a fair chance like everyone else. Naija should change its mentality. |

Great tips. Confidence is key. But confidence itself stems from roots of knowledge of the profession/trade, facts and figures, current affairs, and an understanding of how things work. It gives you control. Everything else works out easy.
Good luck to all intrviewees |

No amount of success in career can make up for failure in the family, however modest and necessary as it may seem. |
Family › Re: What Is Romantic Love To You And In What Form Does It Come? by jaywee(m): 12:56pm On Nov 28, 2012 |
carefreewannabe: You're very polite
What a coincidence you have just opened this thread. I discussed the question with a friend JUST yesterday. I told her what I have just said to you.
I said: 'I love you' is a sentence that begins with the personal pronoun 'I' and in fact it is all about 'I' and 'ME'. I, in the first place, you follow but you're just " a means to an end". People say they love others because they get something out of it or at least hope to get something and even expect to get something. Ask people why they love their partners and you'll get answers like:
"He / she takes care of ME." "He / she makes ME smile." "He / She takes ME places I have never been to." "He / She satisfies ME in bed". "He / She completes ME." "He / She makes ME a better person."
The list goes on and on and on. Note: People have a combination of the reasons mentioned above and some others that are about 'I' and 'Me'.
Now, what is even more interesting is that people "love" their partners AS LONG AS they meet / fulfill their expectaions and needs. BUT what happens if the partner stops doing so? The person you called baby, honey, boo becomes a b.itch, an a.sshole and so on and in many cases bitter feelings and hatred evolve.
Bottom line: We "love" people because they do something for us, something we want and / or need, something that makes us feel good. Take it away and "love" will die, sooner or later. Not in all cases. |

Business › Re: Nigeria’ll Overtake US If It Has 24 Hours Electricity, Security by jaywee(m): 7:08am On Jul 20, 2011 |
I don't mean to be pessimistic but in reality, it's a long shot. It takes more than just having 24hr electricity and security to overtake the USA's economy. There's a whole lot more to contend with, both locally and internationally. There's China, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, and even our neighbouring South Africa to meet up to, let alone overtake. There's the question of education. And by that, I don't mean classroom lessons - I mean being informed and knowledgeable. It's not impossible, not in the nearest future at least, but I must remind you that the US have come a very long way to be where they are today. It's not something we can achieve overnight by just switching the lights on permanently. |

Crime › Re: What Drives Someone To Suicide? by jaywee(m): 1:07am On May 13, 2008 |
One of the greatest gifts we have as humans is the gift of free will, and how often we misuse it. If there is a will, there's a way. Suicide is an option only if u loose ur will to live. Life is a blessing, and we should consider it so. |
