Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 6:28pm On Oct 15, 2007
hey all!
its so hard to keep up with dis thread. each day i log on, 2-3 pages might have passed.
oh well! firstly, i would love to say Happy Bday to Kuwena( sorry 4 d late wish). i actually misplaced my phone 4 a while bt is nw recovered. Den, Happy bday to opoks! we'v nt met bt i think u'll be a reasonable fellow!

Now, kuwena, no be only u dey feel like dat o! im getting tired of people askin me whether the'v(NLNG) nt called yet. even if na directors and general managers dem dey recruit! its more than a year now. Mobil and Chevron like som1 said hav all started & finished in this period. even a govt. company like NNPC took about 4-5 months. and NLNG is suppose to be more professional!

Each time, som1 tells me dat he knws 1 or 2 people dat hav already received their letters through "my father, my uncle runs" and i tell dem dat nope, its not possible dat at least 1 person on nairaland wuld hav gotten too. but each time i hear it, i begin to reconsider that "who knows", afterall, why is it taking dis long.

well like some odas said, its beta to have an option/alternative. its not that ur doubting ur faith but "who just knows whats meant to be!"

sorry 4 being a pessimist o! but i'll sign out by saying "wishing all of us the best and hope NLNG calls dis month"

take care! cool

hi all;
wow, this thread is amazing! each time u open it, 2 pages might have passed. dats great! there's a lot of excitement i guess!

so many free flow writers, clowns, skeptics and antagonists! grin

well, i really dont hav much to say, just to wish us all d best and encourage u guys to continue wit d effort. its always refreshing to read about someone's thoughts and expectations on dis NLNG issue.

so, ride on and safe!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 12:31pm On Sep 19, 2007
hey all, hw y'all doin? meen, page 31, dats great! and i can see dat dere are now so many professional writers on the thread now. serious essay writers grin

wow, so no news 4rm NLNG yet? na wa o! dis people wan make anxiety kill person. well i guess 4 d fact dat they said d result is ready but not yet 4 public consumption, i think we'll hear 4rm dem btw dis week and next. at least going by wat they told us at d center.

well while we wait, let me just hail some people. kuwena hw far, jenks, adrianic, ! i've been locked up in jos and makurdi 4 a while now. but i just came in to abuja 4 a week b4 i return.

well, to all d new and old threaders, wishing y'all d best and hope we get to meet soon!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 5:46pm On Aug 13, 2007
NLNG to Bonny!

Dat was very nice to type. its a powerful statement "NLNG to , !". how are we all? d anxiety and expectation will now increase now dat we know dat d letters would start comin any time from now! i was surprised and amused wen kuwena cald me askin if i was d one dat cald him to tell him dat i had gotten my letter! he was so convinced some1 cald him dat i began to think dat i might have cald him n i alomost started lookin 4 my letter!

anyway, i still accepted d prophesy in dat statement n prayed dat i wuld get my own very soon!

Party dey after d passin out 2morow o! anybody wey won chow wey no dey abuja, make im go arik air, tell d pilot or flight attendant say na me send u, and dey will bring u 2 abuja! grin

wishin all of us da best!

hey people! NLNG i'm in o!

sorry i havnt posted for a while now; i havnt been around. i've been in and out of lagos almost on a weekly basis. its getting tiring.

how has every1 been? kuwena, nice dat ur back posting.

kuwena, i hope ur predictions are right about the timing of the shortlisting and all dat; i'm a very curious and anxious person! grin

well, i know we'll all meet there weneva dey decide to start their induction. wish us all da best.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 3:13pm On Jul 31, 2007
NLNG i'm in o!

Kuwena, dat was a good one about "wat u can do for NLNG". u are really a mass communicator grin

Na lie o, malaria n typhoid no fit hold u; u go overcome dem o! just believe it!

men, u started d 20th page o! dis forum is flying, people are dedicated, dats good!

wish us all da best as we continue to sustain dis forum, c ya all later!

safe!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 10:09am On Jul 30, 2007
cool NLNG, i'm in o!

Nice one kuwena! u seem to have a precise idea of wat u might do for NLNG. dats good!

just out of curiosity, while we talk about wat we are currently doing and wat we wuld most likely do, i wuld want to find out if anybody has gone to bonny b4?
wats it like workin 4 NLNG in bonny? do dey provide accomodation, feedin, transportation and all dat, 4 their workers? thesame question goes for those employed in lagos!

by the way, dere's somtin about dis trainin skul issue! wen i was done wit my interview, we had a little chat wit one of d assessors, and he said dat d story of "training skul" is not how we think it is. he said we will be first attached to work under experienced people for some time, to find out where our interest lie, b4 sendin u on trainin on dat particular field.

so, dont just expect to be travellin anywhere for the time being!

I wuld hav loved to though! grin
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 2:08pm On Jul 27, 2007
hey ppl, how are we all doing? sorry i dont post much, but i always read through everyday! i think i have a topic we could all talk about on this forum. far away from how many NLNG are goin to take and what no. wuld be engineers and all dat.

lets all assume we will be taken for now, and lets talk about if taken, what are we currently doing, wat courses did we study, where will NLNG most likely post us (bonny or lagos), and wat we wuld be doing in dat department. i think it wuld be an interestin topic to discuss on; i hope!

if i shuld start, i wuld say, i studied mech engr, currently in nnpc (mech & elect. dept.)(we deal on mainly on preparing and evaluating technical and commercial contract documents), i think i'll be posted to bonny, and if dats d case, den i think i'll most likely be involved in their power plant or production process.

well, dats 4 me; now its up to u guys!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 8:52am On Jul 24, 2007
Meen, its hard keepin up with the posting on this forum. sorry i havnt contributed lately! i've been on the road (in and out of lagos). well, its good to see that more people have now joined in the uplifting of spirits while we wait for the outcome of the interview.
just to say a little bit; i think they've already assessed us! while i was doing mine, i overheard one of the assessors say that they always stay up late in the night justifying the marks that they had given to us during the assessment!

This shows dat while we were doin all dem discussions, presentation and interview, we were being graded silmutaneously! well, dats just wat i thinnk.

I think the reason we have to wait would be for management to approve the number they require (if dats the case) from those dat scaled through the layed-down criterias.

well, this is just me thinkin out loud! wat really matters now is for us to keep up the good work we are already doin in trying to keep everybody informed and relaxed.

wish us all da best!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 10:30am On Jul 16, 2007
Hey people!
Sorry for not posting for a while now (3-4days). Just like kuwena said, i think we shuld continue to post words of encouragement as we are already doin!

@pisky, sorry o! i did not say dat NLNG was collectin 3 a day; i was just reactin to wat some1 posted. sorry for the misinformation! i even think u are right in that there are set criteria, which if scaled, secures ur employment. By d way, wishin u success in ur own assessment. just stay calm n relaxed.

@kuwena, i got ur txt; u r right, we shuld post everyday or weneva we get d opportunity to.

@ehido, just like t-black said, i think d group stage was d most challengin cos of all it invovles, since u are expected to contribute reasonably, show team spirit and ethic and so on.

@sequioa, how u dey?

and finally @kuwena, wen did u find out dat it will be 80% engineers?

this is d last week of the assessment, and den d long wait(1-2months) wuld begin! not to worry, we'll c it through to the end and have a gud laugh after it all (propably wen cashin d first cheque).
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 1:18pm On Jul 13, 2007
Hey People, its so nice and refreshing wen i come online and see such lovely posts by the various NLNG hopelfuls! I cant wait to meet some of those i havn't seen yet. Well, 480 people left; 80 needed; approx. 3 people accepted a day! OK O! God dey! cool I dont think we should bother with all this stats anyway. We'll be there finally. I think Uchycelly is right, the question now is what we are going to do with the first package? cheesy grin

@kuwena, u are such a gud writer. You compose so easily and eloquently.
To sign off, wishin all those that havnt done theirs yet, Gud Luck!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 8:03am On Jul 12, 2007
Welcome on-board the NLNG Express Pisky! u r on seat no. 4. Congrats. and Congrats on starting the 14th page. Good luck on your assessment day! Just stay relaxed!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 8:19am On Jul 11, 2007
Firstly, i did not know it was about 80 they were going to take o! is it confirmed from a reliable source? well, if it is, dat leaves 78 slots for u guys left since i and t-black have taken two already grin. kuwena, hurry and take yours cheesy

Secondly, i was not told anything in the interview about using the second stage test in the final assessment. did u guys ask dem b4 dey told u dat? i still think it doesnt matter; if they are going to use it, it probably will be to determine what aspect of the test u did well in, and maybe dat will form part of the basis for the department u will be posted to! "I GUESS".

@kuwena is right, we shuldnt frett over these minor issues, u'll just be stressing urselves. just relax and pray like kuwena suggested and in september, we'll definitely be there!

safe!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 9:18am On Jul 09, 2007
@Sequoia, how u dey? it was great meeting all u guys at that interview. and for other nairalanders who are scheduled for different days, we'll see in september cheesy grin
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 9:10am On Jul 09, 2007
Hi all;
This is th e first time i'm comin online since i came back from lagos. Guys, lagos wasnt funny; i went through hell to get back to Abuja. Oh well, dats all in the past.
for the NLNG proper, it was cool. there's really nothin extra to add to what kuwena said; he has spoken exhaustively on it. U just have to remain cool, or u will find urself stammering during the presentation, try and get to know ur group members so as to be comfortable talking with and to them during the group discussion, and finally, dont prepare on what to say during the competency interview, just flow with the questions being asked. if u prepare what to say, u'll start blabbing wen u are asked somthin different.

Sleep well the night before the interview and try to leave the house early enough so as to get to the interview on time. and finally, dont eat too much, or u'll get sleepy during the interview grin.

@kuwena, how was ur journey back?

I hope to meet all u guys wen we start in september! grin smiley

@kuwena, hope our meeting will be gud too. let us pray for those writing today and wish dem luck. and lets hope dat som1 will releive us of our anxiety and tension by posting their experience in lagos!

well kuwena and jalo, lets hope dat someone gives up d info very soon. by d way@kuwena, i did mechanical engr. n u? at this rate, we culd enter page 12 today.

@kuwena, e be like say we go jam dere o! na dsame venue and time we get. wat are u practicing with? can those dat did theirs yesterday, enlighten us on how it was and wat was asked. it wuld really be helpful to the room.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 3:04pm On Jun 25, 2007
hey guys,

i just got my letter today from fedex in abuja and i'm slated for wednesday 4th of july. a doc of what an assessment center is about is attached to the letter. i still believe that it will last for six weeks. just be patient, u'll all get yours!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 11:23am On Jun 18, 2007
Has anybody in Abuja gotten his/her letter? i cald Fedex n they said they havnt received any letter from NLNG yet. well, i guess we have to keep waiting since its a six week period for the assessment!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 3:41pm On Jun 15, 2007
what mhm said is right. information reaching me is dat it will actually take six weeks for the assessment center to conclude and dat it wil start on the 25th. so lets all wish for the best. but i wonder, if its going to take the whole day, what could they possibly be asking/interviewing? will u do it stage by stage? will u present; take 30mins break, den come 4 another session n stuff like dat? i wuld love to know!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by jbyno: 12:31pm On Jun 05, 2007
hello landers,
i think d reason 4 the delay is cos of those dat are still serving, cos it would be illegal to employ some1 still servin and they dont want to lose gud brains cos of this NYSC. so just chill, like zhia said, i think the interview would b in mid or late june, so that it all falls in place. wish us all gud luck.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nlng Have Started Contacting by jbyno: 2:08pm On May 23, 2007
Allo Landers, congrats to all that made it to the next stage. i want to find out if letters have been sent to anybody inviting for the interview, if yes, when and where?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nlng Have Started Contacting by jbyno: 9:16am On May 17, 2007
firstly, congrats to uleh, and to sweetjoy, i say, keep hope alive, there is a plan for u. has anybody received a letter from them, cos dats the most important part. the letters are a definite proof of LNG's commitment to this recruitment excercise.
