According to one of the protesters who spoke in anonymity said that, "it was around 4am yesterday that PORTHARCOURT ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY came and disconnected their source of power from the transformer leaving them into total darkness."

The residents after contributing 2.4million naira to predict office in Aggrey Road in order for them to purchase new transformer, phenomenal now gave them a bill of 2.5million naira as the electricity bill consumed in one month.
