MuttleyLaff: There is no crime. If there is one, then it will be a crime against God committed by those 42 young men and others that might have escaped with bruises but at least had their lives still intact.
So are you saying Moses is lying against God, when he told the Israelites what would happen to their children of they should reject God and prefer going after idols, false gods etcetera, which it what Bethel, that Abraham and Jacob had previously known with fondest memories has become, it had become the headquarters for idol worshiping and paying homages to false gods.
There is nothing that God ever does that makes God cruel. You have a dim view and narrow understanding of God, if you think and/or talk that way. there is a difference between God is love in which Jesus came to preach to us and to cruel one in the old testament! in book John 10:8 ! Jesus said those that came before him were thieves in verse 10 He said thieves come to steal and destroy!. |

MuttleyLaff: ... and you're being told that this particular episode between Elisha and those 42 young men was sanctioned by God. It isnt an atrocity, it was a self-inflicted outcome and bound to happen when they decided to reject God and also on top be hostile to His representative. Fyi, the Israelites had a covenant from which this kind of punishment of wild animals going after their children, when they are kids or adult, was spelled out to them by Moses and they accepted and agreed to it don't justify crime against humanity in the bible by relating it to God it makes God looks cruel! |

Shepherd00: What can I say to someone as slow as you?
Let me leave you to banter with YHWH here;
Deuteronomy 32:39-42 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: ~~~I kill, and I make alive;~~~ I wound, and I heal:~~~ neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenge upon the enemy.
Jehovah must be an algaida. like I have said many atrocities were committed in Bible in the name of God and God did not send them! how many people have God killed since then?check very well all the wars in the bible were carried out by mortal men why can't God kill them by Himself? or you believe the story of Noah? funny!. |

Can you imagine how Abraham and Jacob would have felf in their graves at the rebuffs of these young men, hmm? What injustice against the poor in the old testament in relation to this unnecessary tragic event brought upon themselves did Jesus condemn? Jesus said David ate the bread made for the preists and nothing happened to David and his soldiers think of it if David was nobody what do you think could have happened to David? In old testaments two major sins have been the issues which are worshipping idols and oppressing the poor! Check the book Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel you will see clearly there. |

Shepherd00: Support God's actions? These kids really do not have the slightest idea of who God is, really.
Listen, even if it was God who sent the beast to kill those kids, He needs no man's approval.
The reason you ask this question is not because you care for those kids, but because you see yourself in those kids who insult God and the people of God, but wants no reprisal.
You want to commit your sins and get away with them.
Sorry sir. Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished Proverbs 11:21a so those kids are wicked! |

Yes you are right. He is not God but a prophet just like Muhammed SAW. Only Allah SWT is the only true God.
Quran 112 verse 1-4 will enlighten you more
1. Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
3. He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
4. And there is none like unto Him. the same Koran you carry every where you go says that your Allah can speak without opening his mouth then is possible to for Allah to begot a son with biological means!.if that's what your myopic mind can't fathom! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Is Not Different From Yeshua by jcross19: 5:25am On Aug 17, 2019 |
FelixIshola: In recent times, some people are saying that Jesus is not the Son of God; that Jesus is a character created 400 years ago by some conspiracy, that Jesus is a roman god, and that Jesus is not the Saviour of the world.
According to them, Jesus is an impostor who impersonates Yeshua, the real and authentic Son of God and Saviour of the world. At first I wanted to just snub them (they actually deserve to be snubbed) but reading some comments by people who are genuinely confused has prompted me to respond to those buffoons.
For those who are bothered by those foolish utterances, my message to you is simple: ignore them! They are simply showing their buffoonery; don’t let them disturb you in any way. If you observe some of the perpetuators of this lie, you will notice that something is tragically wrong with their thinking processes. This latest outburst is just one of the various ways by which they give expression to their personal confusions and inner frustrations.
Jesus and Yeshua are not different persons and they are not different names. The two words are one; they are the same name of the same person expressed in different languages. The English form, ‘Jesus’ came from the Greek rendering of the Hebrew name ‘Yeshua’ or ‘Yehoshua’ (in full). Yeshua (or Yehoshua) is a compound word from two Hebrew words, ‘Yehovah’, meaning ‘God’ and ‘Yasha’ meaning ‘to be safe or free or delivered’. So, Yeshua means ‘God saves’ or ‘God is salvation’.
‘Yeshua’ when transliterated into Greek becomes ‘Iesous’, from where the English ‘Jesus’ is derived. The Greek, ‘Iesous’ is not a translation for the Hebrew, ‘Yeshua’; it is a transliteration. In other words, the Hebrew ‘Yeshua’ was represented using corresponding letters in the Greek alphabet. ‘Yeshua’ written in Greek is ‘Iesous’. Both is the same name, they have the same meaning, and they refer to the same person.
There is no word in Greek that corresponds sufficiently to capture the depth of meaning that the Hebrew Word ‘Yeshua’ contains. So, rather than use a Greek word that ruins its depth, the writers decided to use the exact word in its Greek equivalent. They simply presented ‘Yeshua’ in its Greek form, using the Greek letters to form ‘Iesous’ (Jesus).
If the New Testament had been written in Hebrew, the word Yeshua (Hebrew) would have been used instead of Iesous (Greek); and the English would have rendered it as Joshua instead of Jesus. In the English language, we have two different forms of that same name: one from its Hebrew form and the other from the Greek. Joshua is the English version of the Hebrew form, ‘Yeshua’ while Jesus is the English version of the Greek form, ‘Iesous’.
Transliteration of names and other words from Hebrew to Greek did not start with the writers of the New Testament; it had been a practice long before them.
Because of the wider scope of the Greek language, the Jews at a point began writing in Greek instead of in Hebrew, and that was long before the Lord Jesus Christ came.
They produced a sizeable body of literature in the Greek language because of its spread and far-reaching effect which was above the Hebrew language. The most significant of such literature was the Septuagint, the Greek version of the Old Testament. 72 Jewish scholars produced that Greek version of the Old Testament in 72 days under the sponsorship of Ptolemy Philadelphus (the Ptolemaic Pharaoh who ruled from 283 BC to 246 BC). The translation became known as ‘Septuagint’, the Latin word for 70 and ‘LXX’ the Roman numeral for 70 is used as the abbreviation for it.
In that material (the Septuagint), the name of Joshua (the Old Testament Joshua) was rendered as Iesous. So, before Jesus came at all, the Greek form of His name had been Iesous. The New Testament writers followed this established pattern and there was no confusion about it at all. No one saw Yeshua as different from Iesous.
‘Jesus’ is the current English form of the Greek ‘Iesous’. The earliest English form of the name was not even different from the Greek.
You see, language and its expressions change over time. The English language has not always been the way we know it to be today. Things change as language move from one generation to another. If you check ancient English versions of the Bible, you will find the name, Jesus written as Iesus because they did not have the letter ‘J’ that we now have. This does not in any way reduce the efficacy or the correctness of the word ‘Jesus’.
If you know the history of the English language, you will know that there was a time that the letter ‘U’ was pronounced as a ‘V’ while letter ‘V’ was pronounced as ‘U’. If you did not know that, it will be a shock to you. So, please don’t let us complicate life for ourselves. I will now quote Matthew 1:1 in two ancient biblical texts. Notice their expressions and appreciate the amount of change that has happened to our beloved English language:
This is the booke of the generation of Iesus Christ, the sonne of Dauid, the sonne of Abraham. (Matthew 1:1 – Bishop’s Bible 1568)
The booke of the generation of Iesvs Christ the sonne of Dauid, the sonne of Abraham. (Matthew 1:1 – Geneva Bible 1587)
Did you notice the way book, Jesus, son, and David were spelt? Clearly different from the way we do, yet it is the same English language, only in the ancient form.
I believe I have been able to help somebody with this information. Jesus was not created some 400 years ago by some conspiracy, Jesus is not a roman god (check roman history for yourself, you will not see any idol by the name of Jesus), Jesus is not an impostor of Yeshua; Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
And the Greek presentation ‘Iesous’ (Jesus) did not come from Romans or Europeans; it came from Greek speaking Jews who found the way to write the same name, Yeshua in Greek alphabet.
Don’t let the different language renderings of His name confuse you. Yehoshua HaMoshiach in Hebrew is Iesous Christos in Greek, Jesus Christ in English, Jesucristo in Spanish, Jesus Cristo in Portuguese, Yesu Almasihu in Hausa, Jisus Kraist in Igbo, Jesu Kristi in Yoruba and so on. Praise God!
Finally, the power in the Name is not in the letters but in the Spirit. In other words, the power is not in the five letters, J-E-S-U-S; it is in the Person that the name represents. This is why we can call the Name in several languages and still get the same result. There are many Spanish and Portuguese speaking people who bear the name Jesus and many of those people are not even saved.
So, the power is not in the verbal pronunciation of Jesus or Yeshua; it is in the spiritual connectivity with that divine Person who died on the cross and rose from the dead after three days. If that is the Person you are talking about when you say, ‘in Jesus name’, there will inevitably be a flow of power and the manifestation of the supernatural. But if you are shouting ‘Jesus’ or ‘Yeshua’ with just the letters in your mind; your words will be empty and powerless.
The person to whom your spirit is connected when you mention the name (in whatever language) is what determines the impact of the name in your mouth. Thank You.
Check this and other refreshing posts at https://justjesus.ng/index.php/posts/ more grace and more anointing to understand things of the spirit sir!!!!. those people who are trying to discredit the name "Jesus" are from demonic kingdom . a true Christian won't mind them. *Do you know that asking a person “How was your night?” is wrong?* Well, if you didn’t know it until today, get to know with the help of Edward E Onoriode who shared the update on his Facebook wall. I felt it very necessary to spread the word and help people know about it too.
Here it is.... as posted by Edward E Onoriode.
I attended a IED (Improvise Explosive Device) fusion cell meeting with some US and British EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) experts yesterday to discuss all the IED incidences that had happened within the week across Somalia.
At the meeting hall, I saluted one of the British officers ‘Good morning sir’ and he responded back ‘good morning to you too’
My oversabi did not allow me to keep quiet so I went further with the Nigeria popular phrase ‘how was your night sir?’
Dude was shock. He looked at me in a weird way as if I’d said something out of the ordinary. Something that’s sacrilegious which is an abomination to his ears. After some sec, he said ‘how my night went is none of your business’!
I was awed in shock. Normally, I was expecting a simple ‘fine’ ‘Good’ ‘Splendid’ ‘ My night was great’ etc. But he didn’t say any of these but he told me ‘how my night went is none of your business’! I felt embarrassed.
For minutes, I couldn’t mutter a word back to him. I just buried my head in shame.
All through the meeting, I was lost in thought and I couldn’t concentrate on the meeting minutes. I kept asking myself within, ‘was my question wrong?’ ‘have I said something that offended this man?’ ‘could it be that he had a bad night rest and he decided to transfer the aggression at me?’
After the meeting, I did a little Google search and I couldn’t believe the answers I got.
Ladies and gentlemen, did you know the phrase “How was your night ” In English Language means “How was last nights sex?” “How was your night shift duty?” “How was your health during the night hours?”
Whenever you ask this question in the morning to healthy people who are not in sick bed, you’re invariably inquiring about their sexual comfort/activities during the night or how their night shift went and it’s rude to ask such mostly if you’re not closely related to the person. No wonder the British officer find my question condescending because he felt I was intruding in his private business since I’m not too familiar with him. But I asked that question with a sincere and innocent mind without any harm. Basically, how was your night is normally asked to people who are receiving treatments in the hospital or people who are on night shift.
Nigeria has really messed me up. Now, I’d be more careful whenever I want to speak with these white folks because I never can tell when I’d say something that’s offensive and invasive again. By the way, I need to un-learn so many English I’ve been proudly speaking, they’re wrong. My happiness is that I know the appropriate question whenever I want to enquire how a person’s night went now and it should be;
“Did you have a good night sleep?” or “Did you sleep well?
The answer to ‘ How was your night?’ Is actually ‘none of your business!’
I have checked our local languages. Even as literal translation goes, no Nigerian language asks ‘How was your night?’ I am checking because of this phrase, for those who know, was not in use in Nigeria as recent as 10 years ago.
As my Doctor friend said to me, it may have come from hospitals. It’s common knowledge according to the doctor that sick people often have rough nights and most deaths occur at night. So a doctor’s question to the patient during morning ward rounds is usually ‘How was your night?’ If we exported hospital vocabulary to the streets, are we now to assume, we are all at death’s door?
The proper address for mornings is simply ‘good morning’ and if you want to spice it up by being overly friendly, you may add ‘hope you slept well?’ A person’s night is not our business.
If we are Igbo it’s either, ibolachi– have you woken up. Ututuoma- good morning.
If Yoruba, 'ę karo' – good morning. You can go further as Yorubas are won’t do by adding “se daada l'ę ji’ – hope you woke up well?
None of these our local greetings intrusively asks ‘How was your night?’ So, No! It is not African either. Let us be well aware when we leave our lanes to go measuring that of others. *So now we know!* *Don't go asking me or anyone else "How was my night anymore?*

Kagarko: Thank God.
Jesus is not God But Servant of God. I urge Christians to read the Bible with better understanding.
From Genesis To Revelation there is no word like Bible and Christianity.
Please I want to know the name of the original Religion been practice by the followers of Jesus (Isah Alaihis Salam).
The words Bible and Christianity were invented much later. Prophet Isah (Jesus AS) never called His Religion Christianity or His Book Bible.
Reno's position isn't any different from the position of Islamic Faith. We're therefore calling on him and his cohorts to convert to Islam because that's the only to heaven.
Islam is the only true religion on Earth Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. Jesus is the only way to God ! any other way is destruction !!!!! |

Maximus69: Never mind the version Sir.
The Bible is the same anywhere, anytime and in any language it has been translated, it's just little variations due to the conception of the translators but the words remain the same!
Another evil spirits from the Lord trouble Saul!
It's evident that such a spirit must be an angel but could it have been one that's still working in harmony with God's will? 2Peter 2:4, Jude 6
Remember, all the spirit beings whether good or evil were still in heaven before Michael drove the evil ones away from there! Revelations 12:7-9
Why was the spirit referred to as evil? And why did the Bible say "from the same Lord"?
The first reason is because rebellious angels want to RULE, {Daniel 10:13} and Saul being the King ruling over God's people was representing God on the throne, {1Samuel 8:7} therefore God's Holy Spirit supposed to be guiding him. But since he wants to do things his own way rather than sticking to God's guidance, God's Holy Spirit will depart from him{because it doesn't work with arrogant individuals} and the opportunity is open for an evil spirit to take control and start influencing his thoughts. Matthew 12:43-45 God's Holy Spirit must not be offended because all those who deliberately offend the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven! Matthew 12:31-32 Saul deliberately offended God's Holy Spirit by arguing with Samuel the one who chose him through the God's Holy Spirit as King over God's people, instead of admitting his blunders he was trying to justify his wrongdoing! David did something much more grievous than Saul but he repented immediately God's representative rebuked him! 2Samuel 12:9-13
So to question number (1) it's an evil spirit, one that's no more working in harmony with God's will, NOT one that's doing God's will!. That's why David usually render that evil spirit powerless with Psalms {spiritual songs that evil spirits can't bear}. 1Samuel 16:23 And that's why the spirit kept influencing Saul to destroy David who is not allowing him{the spirit} to mastermind Saul completely as he sings the Psalms! 1Samuel 18:11
(2)All the spirits{angels} whether good or evil were still living in heaven back then, so it's appropriate to say from the Lord meaning it's not a creature from any other means but part of God's creation! That's why God could rightly say "all of them are creatures i made with my own hands, so do not fear them because there is no weapon they possess that can harm you if you're on my side" Isaiah 54:16-17
Good morning! you are swerving around sir! be it angel or not what bible say there is evil spirit ! still God is originator of all and HE is the totality !!!!. |

Maximus69: I think that's the simplest question of the century, because God's only begotten son Jesus Christ once said "No one is GOOD except God!" Luke 18:19
Perhaps Jesus should have told us that God is both GOOD and EVIL depending on the side from which he could be viewed!
Jesus never at one time during his life here on earth acted wickedly, that's why the man add the adjective GOOD to the title teacher!
So if Jesus could SOLELY attribute good to God alone, then i suppose we need to reexamine our perception of Isaiah 45:7 okay what about this King James Bible But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him! this is from 1samuel 16:14. |

TATIME: Mr jcross19,
So What's your own conclusions on the matter of good and evil? Are you of the opinion that GOD purposefully add evil to HIS good works from the beginning? Genesis 1:31
Mine is that GOD cursed the ground AFTER Adam's disobedience {Genesis 3:17-19} and so HE is aware of any evil that's befalling the human race from then till now. But evil wasn't a part of HIS ORIGINAL plan when HE created our first parents and put them in Eden! When HE finally forgive mankind there will be no more evil! Psalms 37:9-11, Isaiah 11:9, Revelations 21:3-5 God always uses His right hand for good what about the left hand? |

TruthinAction: The discoveries of man does not contradict the Bible, rather it strengthens it. It is God who gave man the wisdom. He told Adam at creation - subdue the earth and that is exactly what man is doing. There is nothing contradicting the word of God . That's what am saying man should conquer the earth many discoveries are coming both physically and spiritually. |

TruthinAction: Whatever the Holy Spirit reveals must be consistent with God's word. The Holy Spirit and the Word agrees. did bible tell you anything about eating dream, fornicating in the dream and the implications behind it? now I asked you did bible tell you about the planets in the universe? how to calculate time, days, week, month and years? did bible tell you how the babies were formed in the womb? did bible tell you there is connection about spiritual life and physical life, now listen all those discoveries that better the life of mankind are been revealed by God through the wisdom of men. no man can do anything without the permission of creator. |

Maximus69: Why not read verse 17 and meditate to understand what the true God is saying?
Well he is saying everyone you're seeing be it good or bad aren't getting their strength from any other source apart from the little he dispensed to living creatures, so don't be afraid because no weapon fashioned against you {by any of the creatures he himself created} will have any success against you{if you're trusting in him} Isaiah 54:17
Nebuchadnezzar asked his guards to intensify the heat of his burning furnace seven times, even those who threw the three Hebrews into the fire were killed by the flame while nothing happened to those Nebuchadnezzar wanted to destroy by fire, it was later that Nebuchadnezzar learnt that JEHOVAH the one who knows all the gases that formed fire is with Shadrach, Meshak and Abednego!
So don't fear them because even if they kill the body JEHOVAH has the final say to determine whether you're going to be resurrected or not, all they can do is destroy what is visible to them {body}! Matthew 10:28
But God's record containing your virtuous name is intact {Hebrews 11:4-32} NOBODY can delete your name in the book of life! Malachi 3:16 compared to Revelations 20:15 ah you mean verse 16 is not from God right? how can you jump to 17 without touching 16 now I understand you better you choose any verses that suit your selfish interpretation!. oh I see |

Maximus69: @bolded
You missed the mark again Sir!
Simply because God used imperfect humans to accomplish his purpose doesn't implies that Satan{the Genesis of all the problems we're experiencing now} could also be working for God, NEVER!
Jesus is God's only begotten son, he made it clear at John 8:44 that Satan's case is totally different from that of imperfect humans who could be deceived into engaging in what they wouldn't have done if they're awaare of the implications!
So don't be confused Sir, Babangida INDIRECLY helped Jehovah's Witnesses in the year 1985 when he abolished the order that all Nigerians must be forced to recite the national anthem! But he's not one of Jehovah's Witnesses {though i heard from a source that he's very conversant with our publications} so even at that, his Salvation still hangs on accepting Jesus as his saviour by associating with God's people {Hebrews 10:24-25}and playing his part in accordance with the instructions given by our Master, Lord and King JESUS CHRIST Matthew 28:19-20
Though God will repay him for assisting his people,{Matthew 10:40-42} he will live long so that he could have enough time to repent and join God's people!
Failure to do this, his Salvation is not certain!
As for Satan, forget it o, he may be tempting God's servants to make them disobey God or make them do evil things but know today that Satan is the main reason why God declared everlasting destruction, so there's no business Satan had with God! Revelations 20:10 Read Isaiah 54 vs 16 and tell me what you understand! we are instruments of God either good or bad! |
