APC Presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), the Ogbuago 1 (Lion Killer 1) of Igbo land has been an outstanding military officer, governor, commissioner and minister.

From 1965-1967, Buhari served as Commander of the Second Infantry Battalion. He was appointed Brigade Major, Second Sector, First Infantry Division, April 1967 to July 1967.

Buhari was made Brigade Major of the Third Infantry Brigade, July 1967 to October 1968 and Brigade Major/Commandant, Thirty-first Infantry Brigade, 1970-1971.

Buhari served as the Assistant Adjutant-General, First Infantry Division Headquarters, 1971-1972. He also attended the Defense Services Staff College, Wellington, India, in 1973.

From 1974-1975 Buhari was appointed Acting Director, Transport and Supply, Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport Headquarters.[8]

He was also made Military Secretary, Army Headquarters,1978-1979, and was a member of the Supreme Military Council, 1978-1979.

From 1979 -1980, at the rank of colonel, Buhari attended the US Army War College (established in 1901) in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States of America and gained a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies.[9][10] Upon completion of the on-campus full-time resident program lasting ten months and the two-year-long, distance learning program, the United States Army War College (USAWC) college awards its graduate officers a master's degree in Strategic Studies.[11]

In March 1976, the then Head of State, General Olusegun Obasanjo appointed Buhari as the Federal Commissioner (position now called Minister) for Petroleum and Natural Resources. The Warri Refinery, the first Nigerian government wholly owned refinery was commissioned in 1978. It was built to process 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day but was later de-bottlenecked to process 125,000 barrels per day in 1987. Two students of the University of Ibadan have been awarded the ENTAFIELD academic scholarship for indigent students. The students, Adekoya Taiwo and Olajide Usman of the departments of Mathematics (200L) and Agric Extension (400L) respectively were picked for the award after a screening exercise by the organization done to ensure that the awards were given only to deserving students.

While presenting the award on the Students' Union variety night 27th Nov. 2014, the CEO of the Organization, Miss Cherry Ozoalor- a Dental student, noted that the scholarships cover the school fees of the winners for the 2014/15 academic session. She further noted that the awards were presented to the students in pursuant of her organization's goal of creating platform for people who, for one reason or the other, are or may be denied opportunities to express themselves. " Whether it is entertainment, education or whatever talent you have, our goal at ENTAFIELD is to ensure that your dreams do not die simply because you do not have the platform or wherewithal to pursue them. These students could do more if they are encouraged and that is what we have tried to do with this scholarship, and we hope to keep on doing that. ENTAFIELD... Let the world hear you" she concluded.

It will be recalled that last year, ENTAFIELD organized a music competition for talented students in UI in which the winner got N50,000 to support the development of his talent. The association has also organized pageant and an Evening of Short Stories in pursuit of its goal of creating platforms for developing and encouraging young and bright talents.

ENTAFIELD is a students' organization established by Miss Cherry Ozoalor and some other undergraduate students (Joehannah, Tunde, Adaoma, Adesola, Sampson). Unlike most students' organization, ENTAFIELD uses its meagre resources to pursue developmental goals for students and young people who desire a platform through which their talents can be explored.
