Yeah I agree, Veritas is quite efficient and very unlikely to do such but First Registrars too in my little experience with them have proven very efficient and I'll be surprised if they do that.

Edit: in fact First Registrars is the reason why I buy FBNH shares for dividend, cos I know I'll get it without sweat or issues. Even if I don't own any FBNH shares for over a year, whenever one buys, without re-filling any e-mandate you get credited.
Wow, this is good news for me then. I dont have to refill FBNH form cos I sold all last year

My heart goes out to @currentprice at this time.

He has traded oil almost exclusively for the past few years.

With the turmoil in the market and the increased volatility seen in recent time, I do hope that he and his trading accounts are fine.

Please anyone who has a method of reaching him directly should do so, let's be sure that he is okay.
He is very much ok sir as he doesn't joke with his stop loss.

I am not a prophet, it is better to buy in tranches.

If this lockdown goes beyond ordinary, I see people selling some of their stocks in order to be liquid. Which might make stocks to become cheaper

Yours truly redeemed some of my money market funds in order to have cash to spend and invest

Normally I'd read and move on especially since this matter has been overflogged on this forum.

Bro, this is false. In this age of digitalisation it doesn't even make sense.

I had several shares of ZIB which I sold all but a few in tranches. The last sold batch was on qualifying day of March 9th. I only got div for what was left in my account as at March 9th. Didn't get shishi for the ones I sold that day. Wasn't expecting to anyway.

Any broker telling you this should be challenged. Except a registrar is just being lazy or they still employ some analogue methods which I doubt, this should never be the case.

I greet you Sir.
Veritas registrar of zenith is very efficient and they dont make such mistake. It has been proved that First Registrars is known to make this mistake.

Well, I must tell u that today is my 1st day of buying Guinness, cause of the malta guiness ruggedprof posted today. But after considering what folks are saying here, i think its right to stay away from the company entirely
Ok Pastor, well noted. Na Drugedprof cause the confusion with that Malta Guinness as if that was the only products they have.

The former ceo who later became the chairman of Nigeria brewerywas very active winning soul for God's kingdom while he was in the company. A popular Pentecostal church in the country even made him a Pastor, he is now an elder in the church.

When he was made a Pastor in the church he had over 2 million units of Nigeria Brewery shares.

Baba is now in his 80s, when asked during his 70th birthday the secret behind his young looks he said a glass of Star lager beer every evening was the secret
Mogbe, Pentecostal and not catholic because catholic drink beers.
Its well then make I begin invest in them once I see the opportunities.
I have a muslim friend that doesn't invest in banking stocks for religious reasons and doesn't do money markets with interest but only Sukuk bonds.

U r right my dear, hence I bought only Guinness, cause of their malt and other non alcoholic drinks
Na wa oo, I am neither a pastor nor an Evangelist but a Christian just because my parents are Christian and my wife and kids are also Christians. I have never invested in breweries stocks because I believe its unethical and I also stopped drinking during my NYSC days.
May be I should start considering investing in them now since our lovely evangelist find nothing wrong in it as long as Guinness produces Malta Guinness and NB produces Maltina as well.

On a particular stock, can "buy" and "sell" be placed at the same time i.e. to buy at lowest price and sell at highest price.
How can you sell what you dont have yet. "Dat one na Yahoo Yahoo things ooo". Same way some people wanted to sell our MMI airport to some oyibos online. grin grin

It has been mentioned here before that buying & selling commissions with brokers can be negotiated downwards. Is anyone here aware of how much minimum one may need to have in their trading account to enjoy such benefit please?
It depends on the broker. I guess with Morgan and Meristem, you need min of 100M if they have not changed the rule since $ is now above 400 compared to when it was 360.

Oga, the message is what I am debating.

I just checked the messenger and can conclude that he is not an authority in finance. That is someone with a disjointed career financial services. No one will pay him a dime for investment advice.

If you call that one an authority in finance, what will you call the MIT alum that is a regular on this thread? I know many other guys here that Kalu does not compare to professionally and otherwise. So, how did he become an authority?
So we have MIT finance alumnus/alumna here. Wow, that's good to hear. Who is that pls though Sir Loco comes to mind.

Dude is good. ...I am privileged to know him on a personal level.
But beyond been good, he is very open-minded.
I also like the fact that he does things with honesty and sincerity of purpose.
...which is why u'll often find that he preaches what he does and act out what he preaches !!

Nothing to say but remain hopeful just like every other investor holding the shares in their portfolio. Though i am upbeat about the result based on Q3 performance but indifferent about how the market will react.

As a trader, its tough sitting on a massive 60% loss making it very difficult to jump out of the bus now.

Anyway, i continue to observe.
Boss, So your cost price is 15 naira?

A certain global investment company have been trading peoples money and paying them dividend monthly for years. The way it works is that the trader takes 10% of whatever interest is generated monthly while either giving 90% pay out to the investor or reinvesting it depending on the choice of the client. But you people on nairaland always see a legit business and call it scam, yet when businesses like mmm came most people fell for it. We keep suspecting God but trusting satan wholeheartedly. The beauty of this business is that i don't need to invite anyone to make a dime from it. I have taken down all my ads here. You can't help Nigerians cos they always throw your opportunity back at your face. Na only alert pictures i go dey post soon. Your comment is the last straw, I now have a billion reasons why i can never show Nigerians the way to the top. No wonder when celebrities climb up they look down on people. If you were a professional like you claimed, they first thing you should have asked is how does it work, rather than commenting " See them", "Na dem", "They don come again ". I weep for this country. I am sorry i advertised here. Na my mistake be that. Biko don't be offended
Chief, you go wound ooo. Some of us have gone through this route before and we learnt our lesson the hard way. If truly you have a genuine mind to help Nigerians by investing in this high rated scam, you will blame your self and lose the respect of those that invested their hard earned money with you in few months to come. In my little experience in life, people can be sincere and be sincerely wrong even if you are Pastors or Chief Imams. In investment, nothing is guaranteed and a lot of sharks put there to prey on people's money. Go and read about Bernie Madoff's, even the so called "smartest" guys lost billions of $ to his ponzi scheme.

This is the period of maximum panic. So just continue buying small small until your money finishes. grin grin

Those of us that bought Zenith at bottom-pot price are already having 18% gain. grin

With the Zenith dividends paid to guys now, they will start to bid up prices in a bid to average down.
In a nutshell, they will help us to average up and increase our capital gains. grin grin grin
