We are talking about modern Ak riffles i:e- AK-74M, AK12, AM17, AK 9 and other compactible AK riffles.

The problem is 'Accuracy' especially when aiming at targets beyond 50m. I've seen a documentary on 'military.com', the AKs no doubt are rugged and require little maintenance,but accuracy is a challenge (especially when shooting at targets far away).
