Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, has justified President Buhari's comparism of fuel price in Nigeria to Saudi Arabia, in his Independence day speech.

Recall that President Buhari in his Independence day speech said;

“We sell petrol at N161 per litre when same is sold at N168 per litre in Saudi Arabia; N211 per litre in Egypt; N362 per litre in Ghana; N362 per litre in Chad, and N346 per litre in Niger Republic. It does not make sense for petrol to be cheaper in Nigeria than Saudi Arabia."

The President's speech ignited controversy as critics insisted that Saudi Arabia have a higher minimum wage, standard of living and infrastructure than Nigeria.

Lai Mohammed however defended the Nigerian leader while featuring in a Radio Nigeria current affairs programme, “Radio Link’’ in Abuja on Saturday October 3.

Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has taken revealed Kiddwaya’s father, Terry Waya’s source of wealth.

The self styled independent investigative journalist made this revelation in a tweet she shared on micro blogging platform, Twitter on Saturday, October 3.

Ex Minister of State for Petroleum, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi has denied being involved in stripping some of his hotel staff naked over a missing money.

Recall that the Minister made headlines after being accused of arresting four of his hotel staff and stripping them naked for allegedly stealing N5,000. The four staff of the hotel have been identified as Gloria Oguzie, Victor Ephraim, Rosslyn Okiemute and Achibong Precious. It was also alleged that the hotel management forcefully made some withdrawals from their bank accounts with their ATM cards before the police took them away in a waiting van.

However commenting on the incident at a press conference held at his country home in Oginibo, Ughelli South council area of Delta state, Gbagi stressed that the said staff were not employees of the hotel but “freelancers”. He added that there are records to back this up.

He further alleged that his political detractors who are out to truncate his plans to contest for the 2023 gubernatorial race in the state, are behind the trending video and photos.

A 22-year-old man simply identified as Sarafa Ayuba, has committed suicide beside his uncle’s house at Amuloko area of Ona Ara Local Government part of Oyo State on Friday, September 25.

An uncle of the deceased, Kazeem Tijani, recounted how Ayuba was declared missing and his body was recovered.

The four former staff of Signatious Hotel in Warri, Delta State, who were allegedly stripped naked naked on the order of the owner of the hotel who is a former Minister of State for Education, Kenneth Gbagi, have written a letter to him demanding N1bn compensation and a public apology from him.
