SapphirePRINCEX: Every Child is a Blessing
BS BS BS BS
Discovering I was pregnant was the hardest pill I had to swallow, came with alot of mixed feelings, abort or not, do strenuous stuffs so I would miscarry, name it, but God's plans are surely not ours. Zi my DS was already on my neck for a sibling even before I discovered I was pregnant. So after much thinking, I decided to let the will of God prevail.
On purpose I didn't take any prenatals, I was care-free and I guess if my life wasn't also at stake in pregnancy, I maybe might not have registered for antenatal. It took plenty talks and advice from my neighbors before I dragged myself to a private hospital for registration at almost 26weeks.
Even when I felt I had zero love for my foetus, I still found myself doing scan almost every Saturday or whenever I felt reduced movement. As the pregnancy progressed and kicks became more visible, I knelt down and cried to God for mercy. Early pregnancy I wished for miscarriage around 25weeks down, I wished for foetal death and here I was at 28weeks praying and revoking every bad intentions I had for him. For every kicks and nudges, I fell more inlove, Zi would kiss my tummy every night and even when he doesn't know what we were expecting, he would say *GOODNIGHT BABY BROTHER*
I started baby shopping around that 28/30weeks and I kept making positive declarations. Around my 32weeks, a friend adviced me to register in the General hospital incase of emergency that I know I had to be extra careful so I can stay alive for Zi. She said I needed to deliver in General where facilities are top notch with more experienced Doctors, I jokingly told her to relax that I will have a sexy delivery in my house and I won't be needing both the Private I registered and the General.
It was as if my village people was just whispering to everybody on my behalf o and my neighbors kuku started there own wahala. The day I told them I was going to register in the General hospital, on my way, I changed my mind and went to a Primary health Care center instead and registered. The nurse checked me and was like I was 28weeks meanwhile I was over 33weeks plus, walai fear begin catch me. I left there and went for scan immediately and it back dated me by 1week, I stayed there and started crying bitterly o.
One woman there met me and was like she will recommend a good midwife that she is a matron in General hospital so she can check me still. I happily collected the number and booked appointment with the woman the next day. The following day came, see heavy rain, I couldn't go and that was how she kuku told me she was going to be busy d whole week. I just kept praying and kicks kept reassuring me all was well.
Oneday, I got a call from d midwife telling me to come over to her place that she was free, so I went, told her my history of early birth, most times exactly 4weeks before my Edd. She didn't check me, only gave me malaria drugs and that was how I started treating malaria o. 2weeks after the treatment I started having contractions that were not really frequent. I expected to deliver maybe around 6th Sept judging from previous births but as that day passed, I told myself that maybe this baby is really going to be an October born. Around Sept 15th, the contraction became more frequent and intense, I contacted the midwife and she said she was busy at the hospital that I should time it and come to General if need be that she will attend to me (Chai God bless her for me, she really took me as a daughter). After the call, seems baby heard d busy call and decided to calm down for me, naso contraction take stop o.
LABOUR
Woke up Sunday 20th Sept with serious cold, I was really shivering and even with the duvet on my body, d cold was intense. I quickly called the midwife and she was like thank God she is off today, that she will come see me immediately after church service. I lay in bed cause of cold for over 3hours and when I finally got up to pee, I saw my mucous plug staring at me in d loo.
I called her again and told her it's like am in labour o, funny thing when I saw the show, the cold varnished . Then came this strong contractions that were hitting me back to back. Midwife finally came by past 2pm and when she checked she was like I was just 2cm and my cervix was very thick upon the whole pains I was feeling chai. She now gave me an injection Sha which to her was supposed to soften the cervix. She asked if I would follow her to her house or to the hospital and I said No, Mommy I want to deliver at home.
Few minutes after the injection the pain became more intensed and she only checks me after every 4hours. For every time she checked, she didn't say if I was progressing or not, naso so lie down and rolling on the floor I was doing, or walking on all fours. My female neighbors came with advices, exercise o, walk around the compound, Mommy Zi shey wey warned u to be doing frequent walking and strolling. All those advice na for deaf ears o, I was just lying down on the floor shouting when it hits me and rested when it stopped.
By 8pm, she checked again and still said nothing, instead she gave me another dose of the injection and inserted misoprostol for me. She was like Sweetie please try walk around small for me na, Haaaa, I got up, left my sitting room and just before I could get to the gate, I don lose wrapper lie down for ground begin shout again. All this while I was in pains, I kept praying for my son, God please may I give birth to a living Child, Lord am sorry.
As soon as they saw wrapper don reach floor and I was on d bare ground again, they rushed, covered me up and took me back to my house. She was like I should jex lie on my side that I would dilate just fine God willing and if by morning I don't have my baby, we would head to the hospital for emergency Cs. I vomited a couple of times and refused all the food my neighbors brought for me. B.Daddy brought peppersoup and I managed to take a little, brethren that was how contractions stopped o.
I was even saying thank God in my mind cause the pain I was feeling was on another realm, jeezzz, midwife was like haaa that contraction shouldn't stop o but let's watch it. After about an hour, the stuff came back with full re-enforcement, naso she go use pillow cover my mouth that I was disturbing people's sleep. Oh my Zi, I heard him started praying, that was when I remembered I even had someone to stay strong for. He will say God please make my mommy to stop crying Amen, God please bring my baby brother Amen. That was the strength I needed, I stopped shouting and joined him in prayers too.
Around 4pm, Living Faith Pastor called me cause my neighbor told him earlier that day that I was in labour and he should pray for me which he did, he called to know if I had delivered and when they told him no, he asked for the bottle of coke in my house, he prayed on it over the phone and said they should sprinkle it on my body and give me some to drink. I was weak and at a point I started shouting at the midwife, CAN'T YOU TELL ME HOW MANY CM ALREADY NAA , WHEN WILL I GET TO THE PUSHING STAGE
She was calm all through and said once she sets hot drip for me I should know it's almost close, that with the pain I was feeling, hot drip would worsen it. She was jex talking naso I begin vomit again, for my sitting room, this time I couldn't run to the toilet or bring a bucket. After vomiting, I lay down on my vomit. All my female neighbors were doing the labour vigilante with me, throwing all form of sorry and it will soon be over sympathy.
Immediately I lay on my vomit, she came and checked me again, didn't say a word, next thing she asked for my Nightingale, she spread it on the floor and asked me to lie down, brethren I forgot how to lie down, I was then shouting MOMMY I WANT TO STAND UP OOO . Sha I finally lay down and she burst my waters, and started setting the hot drip. She kept looking for my vein ehnnn each time she finds it and choke it in, I will drag it out , the one that finally entered, even kuku shifted but I didn't mind, the pain was bigger than my hand that was swelling due to the drip.
She noticed it and quickly turned the drip off and was like SHEY YOU SAID YOU CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO THE PUSHING STAGE NOW E DON SET YOU ARE CAUSING ME MORE TROUBLES and was like haaaa mommy e don reach? Naso I begin push ooo, I saw her pour anointing oil on my veejay Sha and with the next push, she screamed Jeeezzz see cord o, she put her hand and immediately cut the cord and fiam my Prince charming flew out screaming his lungs out. Na then me kon begin laugh and with his cries I couldn't stop singing praises. Plancenta was removed and I kuku catwalk to the bathroom and had a warm shower bath, cleaned myself up while they cleaned baby, home delivery sweet o.
Zi ran out from the room as soon as he heard the baby's cry, yeaaa it ended in praise and baby was named today.
Welcome to our lives Zayden Soluzochukwu, I love you and I know you and your brother Zi will make me proud.
BS done and dusted. CcThreegees Mayluv Wow praise be to God Congrats mama |

Tessicatess: BS BS BS!!!!!!
It’s going to be a long read, so grab a drink and popcorn let’s roll..
Prepregnancy Journey!!
After our wedding last year, I took in almost immediately. It was a beautiful surprise and I went about my business as usual. My office is on the second floor so I run up and down the stairs care-freely, within me I’ll always say I’m pregnant not disabled. It was my first pregnancy so I knew nothing about the do’s and dont’s In pregnancy.
Fast forward to mid June, I started noticing little drops of blood and when I Googled, I read it’s normal in some early pregnancies so I shoved it off (I regret doing that deep down). Late June my tummy started paining me, DH and I rushed to the hospital and after the scan, the doctor said it was threatened abortion and prescribed BED REST!!!! I left the hospital and went to work, it’s my office so I said I’ll just go lye there. Not too long after I got to the office, the pain became intense and I called DH to come pick me up. I could barely lift myself so I was carried straight to the hospital. Long and short I lost the pregnancy!!! Oh how I never stopped blaming myself. I blamed it on the pineapples, the stairs, my over dependence on google etc.
We began trying to conceive again. Unlike the first, I was so looking forward to a missed period. The doctor advised I could take folic acid that it helps to conceive. My mamas in the house, could you believe I mistakenly swapped my folic acid with my white vitamins C Like I always used juice to take every single one of vit C thinking it was folic acid till December!!! I have a very strong phobia for drugs so I use fruit drinks as a support system( don’t mind me)
Fast forward to December after I saw my period yet again, I went to the doctor and she gave us CHLOMID drug and told us to take it during my ovulation days. Unfortunately DH was to travel on the day 2 of my ovulation so we backtracked the drugs. I practically gave up within me and said we’ll try the coming month. To the Glory of God I took in still and the rest is history.
Last trimester
I started having fluctuating BP here and there. On Monday 14th Sept. i went for my usual ANC and my BP read 142/85. The nurse insisted I see a doctor. The doctor asked me to run series of tests and scan. The scan said the fluid is inadequate though not completely low. The doctor looked at me and said Madam, you’ll be induced tomorrow. Go bring your bag. Oh my whole self crashed within immediately. I cried and called DH to come to the hospital and hear what the doctors are saying.
He came and immediately did the blood donation thing. I was admitted on Tuesday and around 8pm the catheter was inserted ( that pain is not of this world) on Wednesday evening it was removed and the doctor said I was 4cm!! I was like okay we’re making progress!! Wednesday night through Thursday contractions set in. First it wasn’t consistent, then it became 5mins apart. I just can’t explain that pain. I was in labour from from then till Friday morning after much pleas to the nurses to come check me.
On Friday morning the doctor came, checked again and said I was still 4cm. They where now almost proceeding to administering oxytocin when all of a sudden they stopped and decided to check on Fetal Heart beat. They weren’t getting the required number I figured. Three other doctors came and rechecked, they said same thing as well. Immediately I was told I’ll be wheeled to the theater. According to the doctor, if they keep waiting for labour to progress, my baby wouldn’t survive it.
Long story short, my baby came out so weak and was given oxygen. Asides that she is In perfect condition. God saved us and I’m most grateful.
The sutured part is bringing out liquid after I removed the plaster and that has been my worry. I was told to keep cleaning with spirit but I think I’ll be going back tomorrow for proper check up.
Sorry for the long story, cappo @ threegees Bs submitted. Safe delivery to all mamas!! Congrats mama |

mhizzcherry: The pgd is for those who studied other courses apart from the one mentioned in A Ok thank you very much |
Educational Services › Re: Unilag Pg 2019 Thread by Jenny855(f): 5:18pm On Aug 01, 2020 |
kalan: 1. Eligibility for Your Proposed Course of Study
Unilag Pg does not allow you to do some courses with your Bsc. While there are more than 120 courses available for any applicant. You must be certain you are qualified.
For example.
If you have an HND, you are so limited to just 3 courses:
1. MBA
2. Project Management
3. Biomedical Engineering
And not many people would want to read these courses.
so what do you do?
HND is mostly a no-no.
But all BSC are welcomed, even if you got your BSC from a state school or private University.
Also graduates from NOUN can also apply to Unilag Pg programme
Disqualification:
I know a lot of people who scored above the cut-off point in various exams conducted in the last 7 years and were disqualified- just because they didnt meet the school requirement.
E.g Bsc Engineering cannot apply for Msc Computer Science directly, you should first apply via pgd else you will be denied.
Likewise, so many restrictions. You need to know and be informed adequately so you dont make a mistake.
A lady called me last year and asked if she could apply for MSC in Engineering with her PGD certificate from another school?
I told her Unilag frowns at PGD from other schools. She was shocked.
She then said, ok let her use her HND cert.
I told her no way. she later said but UI allows such.
I told her I know, but that is Unilag for you.
So its better you know your eligibility status.
I've a current case of one of my students who just checked his result and he scored 70+ but will be denied admission because he was not qualified with his BSC course - the guy is almost weeping!
The solution I propose is to find the courses out there you can do with your Bsc degree.
and i will tell you for free, there are so many courses that each degree has access to, dont be tied to one.
These are powerful combos you could do if only you have the right info, and i will be sharing some of them with you on this thread.
Take Bsc Economics For example
BSc Economics graduates has loads of courses they can combined with their Bsc and make a hot selling combo out of it.
Before you chose a course, look at the job market, and the trends, dont stick to your old ways or what Jamb forced you to read.
Go for your passion and your purpose.
Do what you love.
With the right counsel you can make good judgement. Having said that seek proper info from mentors, its the easiest path to glory....
enjoy!
Bsc Economics hot combo
plus MBA plus IRPM pgd finance plus Dev Finance plus Risk Mgt plus MPIA plus MILR plus Accounting plus MDSS plus Pgd Computer Science plus Msc Economics plus Insurance plus Actuarial Science plus Operations Research plus Operations and Production Mgt plus Organizational Behavior plus Management plus MMP plus Sociology plus PGDE plus Marketing plus MILD plus MELS
Let me know if you have any problem in choosing a course or combining your course with your experience. Would gladly help out. Please I want to go for irpm and I have only a bsc in political science Can I go on I don’t know if I have to have the pgd in labour studies

kalan: Available courses
The course you go after when you're looking for a job is different from the one you go after when you're seeking for a higher promotion and progress in your career.
Dont confuse both.
You have to know your target.
You can't have both same time.
So that when you finish your masters OYO won't be your case.
For example...
What is someone looking for a job doing with a course like
MGIS?
Or Msc Biochem?
Or MPIA?
Or Msc Sociology?
These are courses for people who knows what they're doing...
If you're looking for a job survival is your name and you need to position yourself INTENTIONALLY
Look at courses that can help you immediately..
Look around you..
What skills and courses are people looking for?
I wrote about this in detail on my Pg blog..
Make the right choice...
Stay safe. Hello, please I have a bsc in political science with a 2:1, what course is advisable |

Prudify25: BS
First of all, I want to say thank you lord for the journey, after having a miscarriage(5 months) last year april 20th to be precise, the devil wanted to work on same date this year, all that can go wrong during this pregnancy did, from having threatened abortion to having to go for emergency cerclage at 24weeks, to premature contractions almost every 2weeks, including managing diabetes, in fact this God is too good. At some point I will be scared if my baby will form well and come out very strong and healthy, but in all,I thank God.
April 17th I went for normal antenatal, did urinalysis and went for vitals... My normal bp of 120/80 went up to 170/100.....I was really concerned, although prior to that I had already started secreting mucus plug, my gynae sent for my husband immediately and told him I need to be under close monitoring and if my bp doesnt go down I will be taken to theatre the next day...oga went mute throughout that day, I prayed, called my parents and even brought it here, my parents said if the form isn't signed by my husband they will sign it if it can be mailed to them and so it went on, he didn't say a word, gynae asked for mother in-law, she didn't show up, on Saturday 18th I was told to report morning afternoon and evening to check my bp, it was getting worse infact after the nurses check the doctors will check to confirm and it will even go higher, I was told to go and bring my bags, I waited for hubby to come but he didn't say anything when he came back, mother in-law later called a matron that night to seek second opinion and she was told cs is the only way out to save mother and child, my parents were angry with me that I'm playing with my life cross of hubby and in-laws, in short inter-tribal marriage get as e be. To cut the long story short, I tried to rest after all the worry but I couldn't, on Sunday around 4am my head was banging and I knew my bp must have gone higher than it was, I didn't wait for hubby I just picked few stuffs and was heading to the hospital to my greatest surprise he followed me and even helped me carry my bag, on getting to the hospital, bp was checked and it was reading 200/120, nurses and docs were shouting, everyone was confused. The next 10mins I was checked again and it went to 210/130, it was just going up, my gynae had to call 4 other doctors from UNTH, I was told we need to deposit 60k for them to start but hubby was no where to be found, I was checked again 220/140, the doctors arrived really early and they decided to check it was 240/130, my gynae said I should be moved to the theatre immediately that we have suffered so much during the pregnancy to loose it when I was just few days to hit 36weeks cos of money, before then I called mother in-law that his son has left me to die and she came in few mins b4 I was moved to the theatre and that was it.
First anaesthesia injection didn't work, I felt the pain when they cut me, after giving me the second one I fainted, I heard voices of people calling my name and snapped back, but then it was as if my whole body went numb including my head, I tried to speak, like I was shouting within me but nobody was hearing me, it was one of the docs that saw my face and said I was dying, I was just shouting, I can't do this, I'm dying, I'm going, God help me and b4 I knew they fixed oxygen to my nostrils and that helped me to breathe well and in few mins I heard my baby crying, hearing her cry just took away all the pains and turmoil, she was cleaned up and showed to me cos I didn't check gender b4 her birth and that was it.
I was stitched back, cleaned and moved to the ward but couldn't speak or talk to anyone until later that evening.
The devil came again baby's glucose level was 12 and that was very low, she was given formula and glucose since I couldn't even move cos of the anaesthesia, all of a sudden baby began to choke, my mother in-law was shouting for help, in my fragile state I kept on asking for my baby but no one was answering me, I managed to pray for God to save my child and give me complete joy, unknown to me they were reviving her with oxygen for 2 straight hours, I couldn't move to look for her cos I'm worried and head is banging, at the end of it all, God did it for me and we are fine, Protocols were broken for my sake and God proved himself mighty.
I am grateful to God for everything and we are 1 week today, treating jaundice though but I know God is working, thank you to all that advised I go for the cs, for all your tips here and to cappo, thank you sweetheart. I have to drop my pen here so I can sleep now that princess is sleeping.
