Business / Re: Powdered beer business idea - Please discuss by jeremiahb(m): 6:44pm On Feb 09, 2011
@mikemic

Many business has advantages and disadvantages so don't be discouraged.

But testing the product to 50 people is not good enough.

I live in the UK and when companies are testing a product, majority of them are either giving samples away at Train Stations, Parks or on the Roads.

It will be better if your product is tested that way and people can instantly give you their opinion, if the product is liked in UK, Europe and the States then I don't see the reason why it will not suceed in Africa
Business / Re: Powdered beer business idea - Please discuss by jeremiahb(m): 4:41pm On Feb 07, 2011
What an excellent idea, naijacutee had already said alot but you need to research more on the powdered beer product. I know that in the UK, 60 - 70% of the people spend at least a couple of pounds on beer and spirits every week and same goes for Europe.

Maybe you try and pilot it out to some consumer groups and find out their opinion. Good luck

He should have been honest with her from the start, but the lady in question might not want to marry someone who has children from a previous relationship.

All he can do is to talk to her, may she might change her mind.

It a load of nonsense, why did she marry you then. Its becoming a common and crazy society where married women are bearing their husband's name and father's name.

Business To Business / Re: Equipment Leasing / Renting (construction) by jeremiahb(m): 1:18pm On Jan 28, 2011
Thanks Omolayo

From what I sense, maintenance on the equipments are very important which is good. But on a 20 tons excavator, how much will you seriously think what one can achieve on a daily or weekly basis. And using a machine for 3 to 5 years do you think one can get a good rate on the equipment.

Do you also charge for extras such as brakers and buckets.

I mentioned about the procedures and rules which you stated that has to be negotiated between the manager and client for successful business relationship. But again are you suggesting that the prices will vary for each client and in every business there is always rules and regulations.

And lastly on the insurance issue, don't you think its appropiate one does it. And I know for sure if a customer borrows an excavator and it comes back damaged, what happens? Please can you explain.

Reasons am asking this questions is because its a good business which am interested in investing in but I must know some facts also, God bless you for creating this topic

In UK do either of the below and be ready to attend alot of parties

DJ
Alaga Iduro\MC
Photographer
Make up Artist
Party Entertainer
Event Planner\Decorator
Cake Designer

A useless DJ in UK earns nothing less than £150 - £200 and a good DJ the sky is your limit

Business To Business / Re: Equipment Leasing / Renting (construction) by jeremiahb(m): 5:46pm On Jan 26, 2011
I have been looking in starting up a few business and narrowed it down to two and the first one is a Plant Hire Service. (e.g Excavator, Dumper, Payloader etc)

My question is I will like to know the good and bad about the business.

How is the rental market and what prices can one achieve on the hiring of the equipment?

What are the procedures and rules if someone borrows an equipment e.g. terms of conditions

What kind of insurance can someone do on the equipment to cover cost of damage and theft. My worry is if a customer borrows the equipment and returns back with a dent what happens.

Any help will appreciated.
Business / Re: Inventions That Can Make You Rich (both In Nigeria And Abroad) by jeremiahb(m): 3:15pm On Jan 26, 2011
Dear Brothers & Sisters,

I am new and like this Business Thread but as brainy as we Nigerians are we should learn to trust one another especially when someone brings a business idea that can make serious money. There a NL member that I was chatting to a couple of years, he had this fantastic idea where all vehicles coming into Nigeria will be tracked. He kept his idea close to his chest which I expected but should have shared the idea a bit more, you never know where you can find help

To cut the story short I was only investigating a bit more about the car industry in naija and noticed that the government had introduced a system to deal with this, the NL Member idea is worthless. All this ideas or business started with someone sharing their ideas with friends or family. Not all people will agree with your idea, I guess when NL started alot of people he told laughed at him and other people invested their time in it now its a success story.

Sorry if I have bored anyone.

In the UK, if you have the money then the best business to go into is the Child Care or Nursery.

Most parents spend a fortune of child care, nanny or babysitter.

If you are even qualified its even better
