Lmao. Your folly is the greatest I've ever seen. First you said Anno Domini means domination of Christ, which is not only wrong but also stupid. Secondly you assume I don't know what Anno Domini means until today, yet I know Jesus was born in 4 BC and died in 30AD but you don't.

You know, you should really put down your ego and your ignorance and learn something from here today. They are a bad combination. Or do you want to be a slowpoke forever?

Come hear the meaning of "AD"......

Besides the anno Domini in Latin simply means after the domination,
Which translates to the domination by Christ of the devil during Christ death and ressurection.

So it is not different chronologically

Next time, know something before quoting
Anno Domini

Edit
From annō (the ablative of annus (“year”)) +
Dominī (genitive of Dominus (“Lord”)).
https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/anno_Domini#Latin

Felixomor wants to now lie that Domini means domination.

The guy is a known mumu na. Lol, we don know am tey tey.

Facts and logic is nothing to him. He actually said Jesus had followers in 4 AD. Can you even imagine that?

To him, AD means after death. That definition of AD(Anno Domini) actually favors their narrative. Besides it's the calendar commonly used and invented by Dionysius Exiguus to delight himself.

I wouldn't engage an ignorant fellow like him in an intelligent discussion because he is not capable of that.

He is a true example of the ignorant religious people. Don't be surprised cheesy

Why?
Christianity was already in africa as early as at 4AD...

"forefathers" for you is not the entirety of Africa.
grin grin

Felixomor is an example of how less intelligent people are naturally religious. Facts and logic mean nothing to them.

Oga, if AD means after the birth of christ, how could christianity be in Africa at 4AD?

Most scholars put the birth of christ at 4-6 BC. This means that at 8 AD, christ was 8 or 10 years old.

Why don't you think it's a blessing?

I guess one could argue that being sheltered from it leaves you ignorant but there are people out there with this privilege who are still able to genuinely understand and empathise with it. I don't know her situation so it sha depends
I have seen the results of that ignorance.

If you have never experienced racism, then you cant ever truly understand the plight of blacks.

Those with privilege that claim to understand are still not fully knowledgeable about the issue of racism.

Just go through the posts of some Nigerians who have never left the shores of Nigeria and you will see their ignorant statements. Even on this thread, some couldn't understand the cultural significance of Black Panther to African Americans and other blacks in the West.

There are even Nigerians here on Nairaland that claim that African Americans are lazy and depend on the white man- without seeing the racism and irony in that belief. We as Nigerians import and swallow all goods produced by foreigners.

Suffering builds character.

Privilege builds a certain ignorance. Myself included. It costs N1500 to N3000 to watch a movie in the cinema. Now, I used to make fun of people who chose to wait 3 months to download blockbuster movies. I just couldn't believe that 3000 Naira was too much for a working person to afford. That was the product of my privilege. And I am a Nigerian living in Nigeria (although I did live in Europe when I was younger).

Wrestling is entertainment. I stopped believing when I saw an undertaker tombstone move that the guys head didn't hit the floor.

I know brutal but that's what i really expected. Anyway wrestlers are entertainers with prime motivation being money. They try to bust into Hollywood as action stars to make a name. E.g the rock.

That being said John cena would suck in a marvel movie cos he's got no acting chops just muscles.
Just watched Bumblebee. John Cena can act.

I quite agree with you on some aspect of the bolded, but you fail to grasp the immediate effect of what Thanos did, if you go through my earlier post, you'll see that the possibility of earth repopulating from its' halved state in the next 45years, is totally impracticable.

Thanos thinking wasn't anywhere grounded in reality he was only trying to prove a point to himself that his methods was right, without sitting down to critically analyze the results of his actions. He thus complicated matters, what of the ultra- rich who survived the snap, they'll eventually become richer or were you expecting them to become more charitable in the ensuing panic??.. Resources was never & will never be evenly distributed, take note.

If half of the economy just vanished, demand for most goods and services just instantly plummets except crisis management, demand will certainly go through the roof, while supply will fall drastically, most essential commodities will assume luxury goods & many of the proletariat will not survive. How does a global economy survive such shocks?
War and suffering must always come before peace.

Europe survived the Black plague.

What you even fail to grasp is that there are people in real life who actually believe in culling the herd to save resources. We call them psychopaths. There are people who want the whole of Northern Nigeria to be annihilated for the progress of Nigeria. Hitler wanted to exterminate Jews.

If Thanos plan did not have a flaw, then he would be the saviour of the universe- a good guy. It is the flaw that makes it evil. The plan is realistic for a bad guy

For once, DC did not f4ck up. This is a great movie. It is visually appealing. There is beautiful action. There is good music (background/soundtrack).

Although, I have problems with the pacing. Things moved a bit too quickly.

I also had another problem. The costumes for the Queen and princess were too hot and skintight. I was almost regretting that I did not carry vaseline into the cinema hall.

Mind you.. A great movie like Logan did not get a golden globe nomination during it's time.

These awards are sometimes used as tools for political correctness and SJW's.

A movie like Moonlight got undue got undue recognition just to pander to the LGBT populace in America.

So why should I celebrate BP's nomination huh
Is it because I'm black... Nah!

Most people agree that the movie is overrated.
It's not even one of the best 10 movies of the year to start with.
Lol, so Black panther is not in the top 10 movies of the year?!! See what happens when you feel too smart? grin

If you google "top 10 movies of 2018" on your laptop, the first movie that is pictured is actually Black Panther (followed by Avengers).

cc Blackmanta, MJbolt, Friedyokes

I'm happy that you guys are having such debates. This is what moves this thread.

That being said, Thanos's motivation or conviction is logically sound.

In economics, there is a popular economic theory called Malthusianism. Malthusianism (from Thomas Malthus) is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply is linear. This simply means that population will always outgrow food supply at a certain point in time.

The consequence of this theory is that there has to be population control or our resources will be overwhelmed. There are many economists (neo-malthusians) who subscribe to this idea and they believe that there should be controls on the population such as birth control.

In short, Thanos is the product of an extreme mathulsian method of thinking- instead of birth control, just kill some of the population.

Thanos's thinking is well grounded in reality. I find his convictions not to be unrealistic.

And to those who are claiming that Thanos also wiped out animals and plants, you are forgetting that we have enough food in the world for everybody. Halving the population and the animals and plants would not make the matters worse. In fact, it would actually prolong the inevitable food shortage for many many years-- because it would take the world's population about 45 years to first repopulate from the "halving" and then many more years to outrun food production.

What Seu.n did was good and smart one, but I still think the Islam for Muslim section should be open like it was before so as other faiths, people can come in to learn, discuss and debate. The section is now like an abandoned planet.

People should learn to take criticism, and if someone go against the rules of the forum, he/she should be sanctioned.
Islam has the worst record amongst religions when it come to handling criticism. Have you noticed that there are hardly any islamic comedians? If there are, they are few in the west!
