Career / Re: White Collar Job And Starting My Own Business: Which Is Better? by JerryQ: 8:17pm On Nov 11, 2019
Pls you need to start modifying your mind set about Your personal Biz. If you wanna do it because it will give you free time, that is wrong. If its also cos You don't want to work for any body, that is also wrong. You go into personal biz cos you decide to employ yourself, so all the personal restrictions you should experience working under someone should not be far from what you will also experience in your personal biz. I am not free though i have and run a successful biz, i need inspect what my workers do on a daily bases so it can be to my standard cos people dont do what you expect but what you inspect. This is real work. Until i can hire someone to do the inspection and supervision the way i do it, i am not free.

I don't even know the biz you plan doing but some biz needs years before you even break even. How will you survive if your biz needs such ? Pls, its not bad in anyway for you to work under someone while getting ready to start your biz, it gives you time to gather more capital to start bigger and enough time to gain experience and skills you will be needing for your biz.

For how long have you done this biz, how profitable are you at it ? If you start at it now, does it guarantee it will settle your needs and marriage plans. You have a rare offer from your school that even Masters degree holders are looking for, take it and utilise it. Then plan to run your biz on a bigger note.

A family friend waited for the dad to work and gather cash for about 20 years to build a school. When the time came, the mum led their already grown kids and used the cash to start a school. Boy, you need see the structure they started with. Cos the capital was huge, the struggles were less. Today, they make tens of millions of Naira every term. So, think well guy and take that Job. With the job sef, you can marry within a year, start your family and start the biz too. I really wish i know the biz you wanna do. Anyway, wishing you the best.

The answer to your question can only be gotten from your inside cos you know the whole situation better. However from the way you write, you sound disturbed She left. Meaning you feel like you made the wrong choice. Your major fear is the future, which is very unknown. Like if you keep spending on her welfare, you 'might' not meet up. Things to consider:
1. You have already done most of the work together, 400 level is close to the end.
2. Sometimes when you bills grows, the solution might really be to increase earning not cutting down on your utilities.
3. Make the main thing the main thing. List your giving in priority, this will help you know the most important to give for and those that seem like wasteful giving. Then settle the priority list with the resources you have available. You can't settle the needs of all your friends, neither can not give to everyone that ask from you.
4. Save for yourself for the next big thing you want to do. don't forget yourself in the process of giving to others.
5. You are helping someone, a good person for the records. Acts like this has its rewards, you might be enjoying some already. To enjoy more, you know what to do.
6. i am not however okay with both of You staying together, think if you can find an alternative.
7. Don't leave a friend in the cold, reach out to her and be the friend you are even if you aren't giving her cash again.
8. How would you feel if she finds another way to pay the fees, knowing you could have inconvenienced yourself to make it happen? Just thinking

Politics / Re: 400 Years After, Descendants Of Slave Merchant Say They’re Proud by JerryQ: 8:31am On Aug 24, 2019
agwom:
The descendants of the foremost slave merchant in what is today’s Niger Delta region of Nigeria, King Eyo Honesty, have said that they cannot regret the active and frontline role their precursor played in the 1800s in being a big time slave merchant. They said they are rather proud that he played that role since it was what trended at that time. They said they are proud because the man was generally adjudged to be an honest man in his way of life and in business dealing with the white men whereas others were dubious.

One of the descendants, who is now the clan head of the Eyo Honesty dynasty, a massive community in Creek Town, Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State, His Royal Highness Etubom Eyo Ekpenyong Eyo Honesty II, spoke to our correspondent in his palace. He said that the name Honesty was deliberately given to their patriarch because he persisted in truth and in being genuine in his business dealing with the white partners who came from Europe, particularly the Portuguese and British merchants, to buy palm oil, spices and slaves from Calabar. “We are the fourth generation of Eyo Honesty II.

He was a great man in all meaning of the word. At that time, he had 1000 big boats as well as workers and slaves under him. With the boats, he transported his farm produce and slaves. He was a major force. One thing that was conspicuous about him was his truthfulness and kindness, which endeared him to the white men. “He was a trader, a dealer in palm oil. He could speak a little of the English language, which led to his becoming an interpreter between the white business men and the local people. This made him wealthy and famous.

“Many chiefs of local communities would usually keep their slaves in the custody of Eyo Honesty for the white buyers. Available history says he would keep as many as 2000 slaves, most of them brought from distant places such as today’s Akwa Ibom, south-east states, and even Rivers State. Indigenes of Creek Town were never sold. “Nobody should feel pained or be angry with the Eyo Honesty dynasty over the slave trade; perchance their forebears were affected. We should not be misunderstood when we say we are proud. Slave trade was a major business at that time.

We are proud on one hand because apart from the pain of slave trade, he opened up Creek Town, which is the root of the Efik nation and cradle of Black civilisation. “Our great great grandfather brought Christianity into what is today called the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. He first moved for the abolishment of slave trade when he told the white people that he won’t be continuing anymore but rather asked them to bring their God to Calabar.

it seems more scammers are now posing here as business persons with intent to render a service or sale a product. Its time we give them 'negative' fame. So if you have been scammed here, the ground is open for you to call them out. Please paste with proofs so we can be sure. I got inspired to do this from the Picture below.

Marcel Samuel , took my N5k after posing as a solar inverter seller and showing me various picture samples, He asked i pay a N5k deposit so he can be sure am serious before bring the goods from Lagos. Seeing the goods are worth hundreds of thousand of Naira, i saw 5K as an infinitesimal part and sent it to Him not knowing He was a fraud all along. I think i should open a thread for them so we list their names.

If normal Glo network is Not okay in your area like mine, check if the 4G is. Then get a 4G wireless modem for about 20k and sub 3k for 18GB if you do much on the net monthly. Or use the resent MTN N1k for 4GB monthly plan if you qualify by dialing *131*65#

Mr President Sir. I want you to know that most times these guys don't even wait for night fall before they attack. They don't wait for 9ja to sleep talk less of close one eye before they come out. About a week ago, I visited a lady that was kidnapped, She told me they kidnapped the full transport bus by 3pm in the afternoon while on the high way. They are now this bold because they know they have been getting away with it. You don't want to know what those kidnappers did to their victims.

If you're are in Lagos ,I can link you to a site job of 30-50k month(lekki free zone), but from your post I don't think you're serious cos I smell so much lies in your write up

If 15k is the solution to all His challenges and yet He can't work out 15k, I don't think He is ready to receive Help. Even People selling pure water get 15k as profit per month. Let Him go and find something doing and stop degrading Himself here. Most times we underestimate ourselves, i am sure if this guy positions Himself alright utilizing His skills, talents and abilities, He will be able to make over 50k monthly before the end of this year. What does He even want to do with the 15k , what business ? Any business plan? Any feasibility study on the business? any Financials ? Okay, i challenge Him to drop the business plan and financials for the business He wants to do with 15k and i will gift him the 15k today. If it is impressive enough i will gift Him 50k. The clock is ticking! Today is the deadline, let me see how prepared you are.

He talks about Project topic, meaning He is at the tail end of His degree. Its a good time to start, in fact every time is a good time to start for someone. The only thing is to start on the right note, it will save you from years of margin calls. My advice to the guy is a locate a profitable trader and sit under His tutelage, or learn the harder way by reading many materials until you stumble on something you can use to be profitable. We all know we can't minus the part where you have to practice and practice.

No, go through all my post in his thread.

Please House you guys should give me some space to correct this guy. i just noticed He is the same guy that was appearing on my Thread telling people to beware of me and all sort. i want to know why you feel you are the only sincere and profitable trader in Nairaland. i ask because the way you discredited me in my thread and the way you just discredited divinepips is disrespectful. For speaking out loud, Divinepips has over 80 followers the last time i checked, are you saying they are all wrong and its only your 5% PAMM account that works? i don't want to even challenge you will my 12years of trading Forex, i will rather challenge you with level of Profiting let me see if that is what is giving you mind to be attacking everyone. In all your years of trading, who much have you collected from the Market? Cos you do a 5% pamm you think you have arrived, when i have over 4 small robots that even does better than that. i will really like to know what is giving you this boldness to attack other traders the way you do. So come out let's talk!
