Nairaland GeneralRe: Share Your Robbery Experiences Here... by Jibsonified(m): 7:38pm On Dec 16, 2014
I woke up with a start, all soaked in sweat, my mind cursing PHCN for the blackout. I perceived the aroma of indomie, my roomie was preparing his dinner outside … Suddenly there came a rough noise… I raised myself up in agitation … Then my roomie’s silhouette with his hands up, walked in sheepishly… Lo and behold what I saw behind him was the silhouette of a tall slim guy with a pump-action gun mostly used by vigilantes … His aim at that point I don’t know but all his orders we followed. “Lie down all of you or I shoot!” I began to wonder, What does he want? Is he a thief, a kidnapper, an assassin or what…? I had no clue of who he was because it’s all dark, I began to imagine a lot of things. He went straight my bed side and took my phone and my bag containing my Hard Drive, ATM cards etc… Then I knew what he came for. He’s a thief, but I know not what to do. In Obahiagbon’s words I was maniacally bewildered at the crinkum crankum that went on. So I… or rather we lay still till he silently disappeared into the dark.

And that was how I was robbed first time in my life… Hmm… SMH

CelebritiesRe: MTV Africa Releases List Of 20 Greatest Nigerian Songs Of All Time by Jibsonified(m): 2:52pm On Oct 03, 2014
First of ALL ! I disagree it been Greatest of all time, if not then some old school songs should be there
e.g Sunny Ade's Eshu biribiri,
Femi Kuti's I sorry sorry,
Fela's number of songs (Chai!),
Onyeka Onwenu's Iyogogo
Prince Nico Mbarga's Sweet Mother
Plantashun Boiz
one of the best of Shina Peters' song, etc[all worth sampling].
Then we can put a few from new school e.g
Tuface's African Queen,
Asa's Jailer & Fire on the Mountain,
Nice's Gongo Asoo, D'banj's Oliver Twist.
Conspicously missing are TY Bello's Greenland, Da Grin Pon Pon Pon... when I remeber them I will add them later.
Then seriously the likes of Davido, Wizkid shouldn't be there walahi!!
Music/RadioRe: Thread For Lovers Of Asa's "Bed Of Stone" by Jibsonified(m):
The first time IN MY LIFE, I bought an Album: It was ASA's self titled and first Album. then in the year 2006. I had to be her fan on her myspace page (whatever happened to that site).

Well, since downloading songs became easy and virtually free, I decided not to buy any album again. BUT... with this ASA's BED OF STONE I feel guilty downloading such a materpiece of work for free.

I have listened to her song and I share 100% the sentiments expressed in the review on tooexclusive.com. They said it all in a way i can't say better

Here it is:
The emotion-laden composé opens with the beautiful ballad, Dead Again is about a cold case love but she’s having it no more! Asa’s musical dexterity on Eyo has a special swing and sway to it as she switches from her baritone octaves to the zenith of her contralto range such that even Lucifer of old couldn’t have had anything on her the way she dismissed him on Satan Be Gone with thronging guitar riffs and echoes from a hollow way. Strings and horns introduce the Samba-like Bed of Stone where Asa sings about the travails of a struggling girl when she lays finally at the end of day in deep reminisce. Pain is one of life’s inevitable and even when that’s all she can feel, ultimately Moving On remains the only resolve. But for the many little things we choose to ignore, she stays Grateful in the truest and most honest form – culturally baring her thankful heart in her local dialect spun over sonorous melodies.

The message in Society is clear; everyman for himself. Because we dey same society no mean say we get same philosophy or eternity… food for thought! How Did Love Find Me deals on a dilemma of thoughts that her lyrics explain. She sings, but why does it feel so wrong, why the tears? I always gave love, never thought I deserved to be the one to get love. So I locked my heart away, thought I didn’t need it anyway, maybe somethings are meant to be… Beautiful sound, beautiful play of vocal riffs, beautiful song. Asa’s reaches a climax on her ascending vocals when she addresses Ife, pleading for him to comeback after an unplanned exit. Such shocked happunstances shocked are scenarios of reality, a Situation is only temporary so when new beginnings come, take advantage of the new moment for new possibilities and new opportunities like we would do in a New Year. Halleluyerrr!

As the composé draws to a close, Asa makes a dulcet bant about not wanting another’s love ‘cos she’s still strummed by The One That Never Comes. This makes her exclaim some of man’s wicked desperation on Sometimes I Wonder. Having pulled off a beautiful life tale shared with enchantesque vocals and an alluring orchestra, Bed of Stone winds down with a mid tempo exhortation for you to go out into your world and Shine Your Light. Asa says to let nobody tell you you can’t....

abdulahi001: This is my thought!!!

When soup is heated, there is vibration between molecules of C-H bond in the oil e.g(palm oil) which weakens the cohesive electrostatic forces between the oil and keep it fairly fermented, therefore retain it's warmness very well, but when opened reverse of the aforesaid is the case.
To me those saying bacteria/fungi are wrong because at a very high temp. of 393K or thereabout, no fungi/bacteria can survive living when trapped inside.
Guy... Update! There are bacteria that can survive that, biko!... Thermophilic ones for that matter... but sha they cant find their way to ur stew... except stew inside active volcanic mountain...so no fear smiley

FoodRe: What Is The Science Behind Soup Spoilage Due To finger.ing by Jibsonified(m): 1:43pm On Jul 26, 2014
Atk1nson: I dn't tink it's just ur finger, even dipping your spoon after a soup has been warmed can spoil it.
My theory- when soup is warmed, a thin layer of oil(frm d palm oil or groundnut oil) covers d surface of d soup. Dat layer of oil keeps bacteria causing spoilage in d air frm easily getting into d soup, however, once u insert ur finger or any oda object, it breaks d oil-layer, making d soup expose to bacteria-filled air, hence d more rapid spoilage.
Test this- open 2 tin tomatoes, use both half way. Cover d surface of one with cooking oil and leave d oda one(control) like dat. D one covered with oil can last for like 5days or more.
It also works for corn beef and sardine
Good and better Hypothesis.

......So yes software / application gets updated all the time and it won't be long before BBM require at least Android 4.2 to run. And Techno currently powering Android 4.0 OS will become useless for BBM....

For a person that is so boastful of a common branded piece of device called Z10... such that all his post on NL reeks of it... I don't need to teach u what u will absolutely not learn... cos u obviously don't know what we are talking about... a common Primary school kid would have deciphered what we are saying... but u can't cos u have egotistically blinded urself ...I'm sure u haven't seen or even touch a Tecno phone live, u only knew it from NL.

rudedough: Ok I'm suppose to do this in English but F@$k that, I sabi speak broken well well.

Make we first use one small example so that you go understand say Techno phones na waste of money cos it go dey useless within a year or 2 at most.

It get wetin dem dey call OTA Software updates - Over-The-Air software update. That thing be like say if phones like BlackBerry, iPhone, Samsung get new OS update eh, automatically you go get am for your phone to download sharp sharp. That OTA update thing no dey Techno.

You know say BBM don dey Techno now sha. And right now BBM dey use OS 10.2 and you know say them dey upgrade that thing anyhow like 10 times in a year self.

Make we assume say you too like BBM. Now Techno don do new phone wey fit power BBM OS 10.2 and you rush go buy am. Just imagine say BBM come upgrade from 10.2 to 10.3. Na him be say your Techno don useless, BBM no go fit work for your phone again. So you must buy new Techno to fit enjoy BBM again.

Now imagine say you come go buy new Techno again and before you know BBM don upgrade from 10.3 to 10.4, that new one now don useless again grin. Na so u go dey buy new Techno oo, before you know it you don buy plenty Techno wey fit buy 3 Samsung within 1 year.

So you see, them just dey force people to buy their new phone just because say you wan update your OS oo. As I dey talk to you so, some people no fit use BBM For their Techno, now them go run go buy this new one and before you know it, it go useless again.

So my advice be say, forget the cheap thing. Kuku safe when your money reach buy small Android, iOS or BlackBerry wey get OTA.

Wow.. Men I no know say broken hard to write pass English oo grin grin

Ur Dexterity,

Confidence,

Enthusiasm and

Exuberance..... in posting a highly misleading pidgin epistle cannot be outclassed by any other dumbest post I've ever come across on NL

U actually went ahead to unwittingly show u know nothing of what u claim to know cos of ur sentiment

Someone had corrected u appropriately that d OTA of Android phones does not affect d functionality of the Apps, it DOES NOT in anyway renders d existing app redundant... But instead of u to accept d correction ...u height of ignorance couldn't allow u to stoop low
