46neeta: Nairalanders on this thread. Thank you for your contributions and it has been indeed helpful. I need your help regards my admission. The school and I was initially confused as to the kind of visa I needed because I got to be paid for schooling, with tax so I felt I didn't need a student visa but a work permit. Unfortunately, I had applied for appointment for a work visa and when they sent in an hosting agreement, which qualified for a grade A appointment - I had to cancel and book a new appointment yesterday after waiting for a date for over a month without response (though for a wrong category I presume). The school resumption date is August 30. For those who got interview appointment recently, how long did it take to you get a date after your online booking? Do you think I can meet that deadline? I am also in the same boat with you bros, (30 August and still no AD) Person no go ... *Call me for your insurance when you get your AM* |

iPOD007: What you are selling to people is TRAVEL INSURANCE not HEALTH INSURANCE.
Once again, don't confuse people. It would be nice for you to also know what you are selling and what it is used for.
Travel INSURANCE: Only used for the period of travel and not the residency period. usually, this would last you for the period of registration with the local office in Germany
HEALTH INSURANCE: This is the main insurance that covers you for the entire period of your stay in Germany. usually a minimum of 18 months. Only Certified German agencies can sell this to you. You buy a compulsory public health insurance if you are below 30 years of age. You buy a private health insurance if you are 30 and above.
Cheers! AXA( France), Allianz(Germany) and some handful of big and international Insurance companies in Nigetia have student health insurance that works anywhere in the world. Most people buy the normal general travel insurance because of the cost and the trust on anything Nigetia. I have those that buy the normal student health insurance and are enjoying the benefits, likewise the normal international health insurance. Most students from Nigeria buy the normal general travel insurance which you cannot get any benefit from as a student but just to get your visa but that doesn't mean you can't get an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE from Nigeria. Even as a Nigerian I will always advice that you get the normal general travel insurance here and get another one when you get to where you are going. For the fact that people cut corners ... You can walk into any Allianz, AXA and other international insurance companies in Nigeria and get your fact right. Abeg na my AD I come gegely dey wait for no to come dey drag things here. |

dailydolar: bros have you tried this before in Germany or you are just saying it so people can buy your product ? Please what I know for AXA and the rest of her insurance in Nigeria is for travelling except you are giving us information and am sure I won't want to try that anyway I have sold the insurance to over 50 people and they are all studying in Germany now. It is the insurance they submitted to the embassy when they get their AM. I believe some of them are here. I am not here to advertise the product but to learn and wait gegely for my AD here |

iPOD007: You mean your health insurance from Nigeria?
Please correct me if I am wrong, any health insurance outside Germany CANNOT work in Germany. What you can purchase is TRAVEL INSURANCE not HEALTH INSURANCE.
I hope we do not mix things up. Cheers! Yes, travel insurance is different from student health insurance. AXA student health insurance can allow you access health care anywhere in the world. While travel insurance is for just travellers. |

campichristian: Worry less, you’d definitely get a date before then... Thanks bro. I also have another question if you wouldn't mind. I am spending the first semester in Germany, the second in Sweden the third in Africa and the last back in Germany. My question is do you think I require a block account for the duration of the first semester or a year block account? |
Travel › Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by jide4lagos(m): 8:54am On Jun 29, 2019 |
campichristian: Means your appointment date will come 2-3 months before the exact date of your appointment. As far as i’ve observed, it’s an automated mail reply system which usually comes into everyone’s mail after booking for appointment, from the embassy tho. Doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be given a date in August or September, some booked this month and got appointment dates for the following week and even early July.
Someone might cancel his appointment tomorrow and his slot could be given to you... Btw what did you put as your start date of visit? Thanks for your response. I put 30th of August. I was scared before ooo, I was thinking I wouldn't be able to get an appointment before the start of the programme. |

jide4lagos: Dear All, please help a brother ooooo. I got a joint international masters offer from UCD, which requires that i will only spend the first and last semester in Dublin. While, i will spend the second and third semesters in other institutions outside Dublin. Each of the four semesters cost 3,000 euro amounting to 12,000 euro which i am expected to pay at the beginning of every semester. All these are stated on the offer letter.
My question is, am i suppose to pay for UCD first and last semesters because of the 6,000 euro benchmark for Visa application or just the first semester then pay for the last semester when i am coming back to Dublin for the last semester? Abeg, someone should help attend to to my question as i have to pay by next week ooo |
