Two members of the Dream Team VI and three officials of the national U-23 team back to Nigeria from the ongoing 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil by the Sports minister Solomon Dalung. It was learnt that the two alternate players Stanley Dimgba and goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed alongside the team’s media officer, Timi Ebikagboro, curator and the team coordinator were sent packing from the games and flew out of Brazil to Nigeria on Monday night. “We said they should send them back home if they could not take care of them (players and officials,” Nigeria Football Federation spokesman. According to reports, Dalung had complained of the huge financial burden of taking care of the extra players and officials after the players were prevented from leaving the hotel over the unpaid bills of eight of their unaccredited players and officials. Dalung said 84 players and four officials – unofficially accredited persons had been with the team since they left Atlanta for Brazil. “The organisers of the Games, the International Olympic Committee, are only responsible for 25 accredited players and officials including feeding, flights and accommodation. We have been carrying the rest along. In Manaus, we were forced to pay camp allowances to the extra four players making 29,” Dalung added. http://realworldofsport.com/2016/08/16/two-u-23-players-three-officials-sent-home-from-brazil/ |

I was discussing with my cousins on a family group chat on Whatsapp on Wednesday while mocking Arsenal’s ‘near’ failure and ‘almost’ success. A senior cousin of mine is a die-hard fan of Arsenal and sometimes I wonder why and how she hasn’t developed heart ache. Arsenal fans are strong hearted people, no doubt about that. They are used to ‘failure’. No pun intended here. While the mocking was going on, Jose Mourinho’s name popped up. It seems there is no way Mourinho’s name won’t be mentioned when talking about coaches. We can all recall the famous and maybe infamous statement where he labelled Arsene Wenger as a specialist in failure. Upon revisiting that chapter, all hell was let loose and my cousin almost tore me apart. Yours sincerely is core Real Madrid fan. I hope to be top board member in future. My cousin tore me apart so to say telling me how Mourinho was sacked and I was defending him. That was where the ‘Jobless One’ was coined. It stung me like a bee that the ‘Only One’ who in all references, deference made Real Madrid who they are today. Before his appointment, Madrid was always dumped out in round of sixteen of the Champions League but he came and changed the status quo. Madrid began to rub shoulders with the big boys once again and became a force. He broke records in Madrid and caused controversies as well. He ended Madrid’s 18 year wait for a Copa del Rey title by defeating Barcelona. All said and done, why is Jose Mourinho jobless? We all know he started his real professional career as a coach from Benfica to Uniao de Leiria before moving to Porto. After leaving Porto, he went to Chelsea, was sacked and went to Inter Milan, resigned and came to Real Madrid before going to back to his vomit in Chelsea who have rendered him jobless. In all these clubs, he won trophies upon trophies. He has won every available trophy with all the clubs put together. So he can’t be considered a failure but why is he jobless? It is said that success has plenty fathers and mothers but failure is an orphan. He is a multi-linguist who can speak English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and it’s not surprising that he won league titles in the countries. He was also a translator cum assistant to Bobby Robson and Louis Van Gaal, his ‘potential’ predecessor at Manchester United in Barcelona as well. On his very first press conference as Chelsea in June 2004, he said “Please don’t call me arrogant but I’m European champion and I think I’m a special one,” which resulted in the media dubbing ‘The Special One’. In August 2012 during his stint as Real Madrid manager, he stated that he had won too much to be called the Special One and deserved to be called the Only One. He felt he deserves the new status after becoming the first manager in football history to win titles in Europe’s top three leagues in England, Italy and Spain. Does he now deserve his new status as the Jobless One? Maybe for the time being. He has continually be linked with jobs with some very ridiculous like Indonesia coaching position. He was even offered a job from the world’s worst club as well. At a point, memorabilia in his name were sold in Manchester United in anticipation of him taking over from Van Gaal. That’s seems not be possible again as the board has ratified their support for the Dutch. He has been linked with Everton job following the sack of Roberto Martinez but that isn’t sure also. Take a look at this. Whatever club Mourinho was to coach will have released bits of information and cause a media shutdown. There is always media frenzy surrounding his potential arrival in a club but not this time. All we hear are speculation, not certainties. So the question again is why is he jobless? This is a multimillion dollar question. There palpable fears that he will destroy existing foundations of a club. Mourinho is a complicated somebody, an advocate of the end justifies the means. He is more interested in results. We can recall the 2010 Champions League semi-final match Inter Milan played against to be dethroned 2015 champions, Barcelona. With Thiago Motta red carded, Inter played the rest of the match with all men behind the ball. He parked the bus and shut the station down. Samuel Walter and co did a magnificent job. We even saw Samuel Eto playing a left back. What a game it was!!! He even called the game ‘the most beautiful defeat of my life’. We will be waiting for the news to break out when the now “Jobless One” will be employed and see him again on the touch line dishing out tactical instructions to his players. Where he will be remains unknown but he revealed that by July, he will be employed. https://realworldofsport.com/2016/05/19/jose-mourinho-from-the-special-one-to-the-only-one-and-now-the-jobless-one/

Chelsea midfielder, Nemanja Matic is keen to leave Stamford Bridge after a frustrating season and team up with Jose Mourinho if he takes charge at the Old Trafford. The Serbian has long-standing interest from Juventus but have yet to make an offer for him. The Serie A champions and Chelsea's transfer plans are intertwined over potential targets Paul Pogba and Juan Cuadrado while Juve also like Oscar. Though interested in a move to Turin, he is keen to stay in England if the chance arises and is waiting to see if Manchester United begin negotiations with Jose Mourinho in the next month. Should United push for the Portuguese then Matic would be interested in following him to Old Trafford. But it may take a big fee to persuade Chelsea to sell to their Premier League rivals and former manager. https://realworldofsport.com/2016/05/09/nemanja-matic-wants-to-follow-jose-mourinho-to-manchester-united-if-he-gets-the-job/

The Cameroon Football Federation has revealed that the goalkeeper of a Cameroonian women's side has died after collapsing during a warm-up session, Jeanine Christelle Djomnang, 26, became ill before a Femina Stars Ebolowa match in southern Cameroon on Sunday, and died on her way to hospital. The federation says initial reports suggest she died of a heart attack but it is now awaiting a medical report. It comes days after Cameroon player Patrick Ekeng died in Romania.( https://realworldofsport.com/2016/05/08/cameroonian-player-dies-after-collapsing-on-pitch/ ) Djomnang complained of chest pains as she prepared to take on Louves MINPROFF Yaounde in the Cameroon elite league and was taken to hospital. Cameroon's African Women Footballer of the Year Gaelle Enganamouit, who now plays in Sweden, was one of the first to react to the news. "It's with sadness that I have learnt of the death of my team-mate Djomnang Jeanine Christelle of Femina Stars Ebolowa, may her soul rest in peace," she wrote on social media. On Friday, it was confirmed that Dinamo Bucharest and Cameroon midfielder Patrick Ekeng had died aged 26 of a suspected heart attack after collapsing on the pitch. The 26-year-old fell to the floor in the 70th minute of a televised Romanian league match between Dinamo and Viitorul. He died later in hospital. A book of condolence has been opened at the Cameroon Football Federation headquarters for both Ekeng and Djomanang. https://realworldofsport.com/2016/05/09/tragedy-hits-cameroon-football-as-another-player-dies-during-warm-up-session/

Just as every football game is won, lost or drawn, the main actors who are the players are expected to play their parts which are to score and the onus falls more on the strikers. However, certain EPL strikers have found it hard to score in recent months and may have contributed to the current playing status of their teams. Let’s look at some of them. 1. Siem de Jong Siem de Jong is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or striker for English club Newcastle United. Prior to joining Newcastle he played in the youth academy of De Graafschap and Ajax. He made his professional debut for the Amsterdam-based side and would go on to become the club's captain as they won a record four consecutive Eredivisie titles from 2010 to 2014. He has gone 17 games without scoring a single goal. Siem de Jong is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or striker for English club Newcastle United. After the fall of man from the Garden of Eden (I pray to see that garden when I get to Heaven), God made it known that man will ‘suffer’ to make a living for disobeying Him. That anger from God made man to toil hard day and night to survive and this will continue to be till the end of life. In everyone, there is a talent and the onus is on us to maximally use those talents to make the world a better place for us and others in general. Just as every human being on earth, there are people who were lucky to be born into wealth and some other very unlucky to be born into extreme poverty and this is apt in the lives of certain world-renowned athletes. There are thousands of them who were born into poverty and were fortunate to use sport to escape as an escape route. However the focus will be on thirty of them. 1. Novak Djokovic He is the current number one tennis player in the world, who’s won countless tournaments and majors. Djokovic was born in Serbia during a time of a war and poverty in the country. He was raised in Belgrade during some of the worst years in that city’s troubled history. His parents did their best to give Novak and his brother an easy life, but during their time in Belgrade they lived through two wars. Due to that, at times, they didn’t have access to things like milk or bread. 2. Edson Arantes do Nascimento aka Pele He is widely regarded as one of the top football players of all time and is an absolute legend in the sport. Pele was born in Tres Coracoes, Brazil. His father was also a professional soccer player, but failed to earn a solid living with it, thus the family lived in poverty. Even in this impoverished upbringing, Pele developed a real talent for soccer and eventually found his way out of poverty. Pele actually first learned the sport by playing soccer with a rolled-up sock, stuffed with old rags. 3. Diego Maradona He is legendary in world football, for both his skill and his off-field issues, as he, along with Lionel Messi, are arguably the two best players to ever come out of Argentina. Maradona was raised near Buenos Aires with a very poor family. Maradona was actually one of eight kids, who all shared one room together. He had incredible passion for soccer from a very young age and was eventually able to work his way out of an incredibly difficult situation. 4. Mike Tyson He is regarded as one of the hardest hitters in combat sports history, but also had one of the hardest childhoods in sports history as well. Tyson was born in poverty-stricken Brooklyn, NY. When he was two years old, his father abandoned his family and left Tyson’s mother to care for the family. As they continued to struggle, they had to move to an even more dangerous neighbourhood. Tyson was arrested more than 30 times by the time he was 13, including being involved in various armed robberies 5. Cristiano Ronaldo He was born in Portugal, where his mother was a cook and his father was a gardener. His family grew up in poverty and less than ideal conditions. In fact, Ronaldo shared a ingle room with his brother and two sisters. He claims that they had very little and that he never had any toys. Ronaldo also had a rough time growing up. He was well liked in school, but got in major trouble at school and was eventually expelled for throwing a chair at his teacher. 6. Lebron James He is undoubtedly the best player in the NBA at the moment and is one of the best players in history. However, he wasn’t destined for greatness right from birth. James was born to a 16-year old mother who raised him on her own. Life was a struggle throughout his childhood, as he and his mother moved from apartment to apartment while she tried to find solid work. James ended up moving in with a football coach when he was nine years old for a more stable environment 7. Victor Cruz For the 27 year-old pass-catcher, Victor Cruz, life had not been so easy in regards to his collegiate career. After being sent home two times for poor grades, according to Bruce Arthur of the National Post, Cruz finally decided to shape up his game. Being a student of University of Massachusetts, the player went on to have an extraordinary professional life under the UMass masthead. When the 2010 draft shut its doors, The Giants took an interest in Cruz, who was undrafted, becoming a huge part of Big Blue’s offensive attack. Cruz’s story has been inspirational to many for not only has he won a Super Bowl ring, but he had gone from an un-drafted wide receiver to signing a six-year deal with the Giants worth about $46 million. 8. Yasiel Puig Chaos and upheaval are words that could describe Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig as he made his way to the major leagues. His tale was recorded by Jesse Katz of Los Angeles Magazine. In it, there was mention of Puig’s journey from Cuba to the U.S., being a dangerous tale of confusion, corruption and chaos. In his later life, Puig signed a deal with the Dodgers and became a legendary name. Now, he stands as a man who has truly survived the ultimate rags-to-riches story. It's a pity that there is logjam in the passage of the bill. I want to believe both parties have good intentions but seems to me however, the politicians are bringing in sectionalism and favouritism into the budget. I thought it was after 60 days not 30 days. I am believing that the president will sign the budget in May before Democracy Day. |
Mekus68:I am sorry bruv but you spoke out of complete ignorance. Without holding brief for the military, the militants are small fries to the collective strength of the military. Who says those northern soldiers cannot swim? They will swim with gadgets which militants may not have and clear their doubts. Don't ever underrate the Nigerian military, they will wipe out the militants with ease. Boko Haram is quite difficult cos they are 'invincible' and are ready to die thru suicide missions but militants aint. |
RedCapChief:How will the Chinese know about this if Aregbesola did not invite them over and partner with them and see how they can work together. So give it to him |

Lionel Messi has insisted that Barcelona’s Champions League last-16 tie with Arsenal isn’t over yet, despite their commanding position heading into the second leg, Sky Sports reports. The Argentine scored both goals as Barcelona won 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium last month, leaving the Gunners with a mountain to climb on their trip to the Nou Camp on Wednesday night. But Messi was defiant that his side were not going to be complacent ahead of the clash, saying Arsenal have the quality at their disposal to cause an upset. “Arsenal have players more than capable of scoring goals,” Messi said, following their 6-0 victory over Getafe on Saturday. “We have put ourselves in a very good position to progress and to reach the quarter-finals but none of the players are thinking that the job is finished. “Of course we know the danger that Alexis Sanchez can bring but that is only one of many top quality players they have. The style they play is the most similar to that which we play at Barcelona and for that we have a lot of respect for them.” Not only will Arsenal have to score at least twice to progress to the quarter-finals, they’ll also have to keep out European football’s most potent strikeforce in Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. Between them they have more than 100 goals already this season, and Messi believes the trio branded ‘MSN’ are only going to get better. “The understanding between me, Neymar and Suarez is improving all the time,’ said Messi. “It is a real pleasure to be able to play with them and our understanding of each other and the positions we are going to be in is improving all the time.” http://realworldofsport.com/2016/03/15/we-are-not-done-yet-with-arsenal-messi/ |
In my own candid opinion, to have the best of graphics designing, I must say using Adobe software such as InDesign is better than Corel draw. Corel draw is old compared to InDesign which is user friendly, modern. |

Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has denied being paid the salaries owed him by the Nigeria Football Federation while giving more details why he decided to call it quits with the senior national team. Oliseh resigned last week after eight months in charge, citing contractual breaches and a lack of support from the NFF. Despite the NFF's claims that Oliseh's backlog of entitlements has been paid, he insists that he has not received payment. Oliseh also rates his time in charge as a success, despite the home-based Eagles failing to progress beyond the first round of the African Nations Championship in Rwanda. He has also left the Super Eagles trailing Egypt in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group. He, however, believes that he left a team anf system good enough to overcome the Pharaohs in the back-to-back qualifiers later in March. In an article on his blog, sundayoliseh.tv, Oliseh stated that despite his resignation, the current Eagles team are capable of beating Egypt both home and away. The full article is reproduced below <em> <strong>"In any Team sport,it is the dream of most athletes to not only play,Captain but also Coach their national teams. That feat I thank God to have blessed me with but last week, I had no other choice but to resign as Chief Coach of the Super eagles. "In eight months in Charge we have been blessed with spectacular results,14 games,1 official defeat and 1 from a friendly Game. Scoring 19 goals and conceding just 6. Climbing up 3 spots on the FIFA Ranking and all this achieved with a completely new and relatively young team. "So young, we were voted the world’s youngest team of 2015! "Why I Quit on the 25th Of February 2016. "I wrote an official demand letter to the Nigeria football federation through the General Secretary requesting payment of salaries and bonuses that were already long due and pending. In my said demand letter I listed 11 unpaid heads and articles. These 11 articles included demand for all sums dating back to July 2015. I therein also specified that I was willing to wait only up to the 25th February, 2016 before seeking means to get relief. "Owed wages and accommodation were just 2 of these eleven articles. "My letter was sent by email and by registered courier, both went unacknowledged nor honoured. "This type of silence had become the new trend and my said demand letter was ignored just as my other e mails in the past weeks seeking support to prepare for the Egypt game. "Our national team was at the point requiring that all energies and efforts should be directed at the oncoming qualifiers against Egypt and not at my employers initiating distractions for myself, the coaching crew and the players. "Typical of these distractions, and without notice to me and in breach of our working agreement, the NFF rather chose the path of holding sessions on dismissing my assistant TIJANI BABANGIDA. They never gave reason(s) for the sack of Babangida. "I had thought, hoped and counted on the NFF giving the magnitude of the Egypt game to have directed robust and committed efforts towards the said game, for example initiating its technical committee in procuring technical details that we had requested for since July 2015 on Egypt. "Again some luxuries could have been shelved by the NFF to accommodate the outstanding bonuses for the players of the earlier qualifiers as the owed bonuses had become an issue with the players. "As I have often been treated, along with my coaching crew and players it is pertinent to note that days after my resignation and contrary to The NFF official press release and numerous interviews and misrepresentations and outright falsehood, my bank has confirmed that no payments whatsoever as alleged by the NFF has been made to me. (as at as this afternoon of the 29thof February 2016). "I dare say that the NFF I know would have made public, evidence of the said payment. I leave to the imagination of the public what conducts of this nature would do to our players just before vital games as often was the case. "It is not in doubt neither did the NFF deny that my hallmark was my insistence on true professionalism, merit and an unflinching patriotic zeal to see the Nigerian national team to a higher level and my tenure brought progress to our dear national team. "It is obvious that the NFF is at a loss as regards what to say, as they have never had a Coach ask them to keep their job as they often frustrate and use people (coaches) for scapegoats for their own short comings. "My grandfather thought us to not seek to be loved by everyone(as it was not only impossible but a sign of weakness) but seek to be respected by most for honesty, hard work and a strong work ethic. "As a Nigerian I can assure you you should not fear the Egyptians.Egypt is a good team but definitely far from the Egypt of five years ago and our new assembled team is definitely better. If we play with the philosophy and players I have put on the ground, we will definitely beat Egypt home and away with a larger margin in Egypt! Remember we don’t concede easily anymore. "As stated in my resignation indicating my recourse to the termination clause as contained in our working agreement. I resigned due to numerous Contractual violations, lack of Support, Unpaid wages, Benefits to my players, Assistant Coaches and myself. "God bless Nigeria!" </strong></em> http://realworldofsport.com/2016/03/02/oliseh-reveals-more-details-why-he-resigned-as-super-eagles-coach/ |

Though I love Ronaldo, I must confess I admire Messi. Ronaldo just decided to stop dribbling and focus more on goal scoring |
"Messi defies the laws of anatomy, he must have an extra bone in his ankle." - Argentina's 1986 World Cup-winning coach Carlos Bilardo Lionel Messi is the current best player in the world, having won it a record five times and will surely be on the list again next year. No doubt about. He has no challenger apart from the usual suspect – Cristiano Ronaldo and maybe Neymar (a potential World best player). He officially burst into the scene in 2005 during the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship that took place in the Netherlands. He led Argentina to win the tournament where he emerged as the best player of the tournament ahead of Nigeria’s Mikel Obi and Taye Taiwo. He also won an Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics beating Nigeria again. Lionel Messi developed his footballing instincts from Barcelona and has won several individual and team awards. He remains the only football player in history to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or five times, four of which he won consecutively, and the first player to win three European Golden Shoes. With Barcelona he has won seven La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles, as well as three Copa del Rey titles. Messi holds the records for most goals scored in La Liga (301), a La Liga season (50), a calendar year (91), a single season (73), a Champions League match (5), and most Champions League seasons (five). There is a certain goalkeeper who had boasted that they have the antidote to Messi’s extra ordinary skills. He probably must have thought that he would never be exposed by the magical player. That goal tender is Petr Cech of Arsenal. Messi had never scored against Cech in nine previous meetings and even crashed a penalty against the crossbar in the Nou Camp in 2012, right from his days at Chelsea and Cech had hoped to make it 10 but Messi had other plans. On 23rd of February 2016, Messi finally broke the jinx and scored against Cech. Not once but twice and was at a point close to making it three. What a way to end a record! He even ‘prostrated’ while trying to prevent him from scoring. In his elements, Messi can unlock a tight defence in a twinkle of an eye and make a world class defender look ordinary. Ask a Jerome Boateng and even Manuel Neuer afterwards. He practically ruined the life of Boateng during the first leg of the 2015 UEFA Champions League semifinal between Barcelona and the Germans. The Blaugrana won 3-0 in a brilliant night by the Argentine superstar, and perhaps his greatest moment in the match came in the second goal, when he did this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hjDINElwVc In an interview with ESPN FC, he didn't have any problem answering the question about the play, and he really thinks it's a funny moment. "That doesn't really affect me. I was laughing at myself. When you fall down or slip in a situation and somebody scores a goal, it's normal. These things happen; it happens to me, it happens to other players, I don't care about these things. "For me, he's the best player in the world. That's football. Sometimes you look bad or something happens. I'm a defender, that doesn't kill me or anything." Words can no longer describe this player who continues to produce earth shaking display. There have been cases where buses were parked to prevent him from conjuring his magic but he finds a way out just somehow.
