Well I did not get custom charges on my Poco f1. Just when I was set to cause trouble.

In other news, my dec 3 dispatched arrived local distro today, but buyer protection is supposed to end in 7hrs.
My question is do I still dispute as envisaged or do I wait for update from post office. Dumb question but Am I still 'protected' after buyer protection ends?

It's not looking good. Like an entire consignment to Nigeria was lost in transit. I have AES Dec 4th dispatched and it will be 60 days on Feb 2nd. No point in extending anything. I just want my money back, the whole customs thing too is leaving a bad taste.

It is a scam run by Nigerian Customs + the courier companies e.g. DHL and FedEx.

Yes, you are supposed to pay custom duty on particular items but the money is hardly ever remitted to FG coffers.

I know all these because i showed FedEx pepper. If you ask their MD my surname, he still remembers, because i actually took it all the way to their HQ in U.S.A. i got death threats over this case sef

Yes The Nigeria Customs via FedEx and DHL have been running this scam for long. Now regular Nipost have caught up.
I heard you can 're-negotiate' a lower figure at the counter if you insist on only paying into the official Federal Government TSA account with Nigerian Customs, as should be the norm. They will opt for cash over the counter and take a lower sum.
Not paying at all may be a battle because they are all complicit in this scam all the way to the top. Probably only Buhari or Osibanjo can personally stop this.

Insist on only paying to the official bank account of the Nigerian Customs. You are not supposed to pay over the counter.
