What a stupid comment. Every poor person will give their right eye to have this living room that can't accommodate 10 persons. What do you want him to have? Buckingham palace?

@tkb417 - Please note that CBN could not have facilitated anything here it is a deal between a customer and a bank $75m is a lot of money if u care to know, no bank is ready to stick its neck out for any business without good prospects. Why do you think GT Bank failed to give the necessary guarantee - the returns were not coming as expected and there is no need to incur further loses
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: The End Of Hitv - Multichoice/dstv Wins Back Epl Coverage Rights In Nigeria by jimuchy: 12:10pm On Jul 23, 2010
I was reading comments on 234next.com on HITV loosing their rights to the EPL and was amazed how myopic people can be. Not holding brief for DSTV but I remember Toyin Subair and how he was able to get get government to break DSTV's monopoly kudos to him back then. He however forgot that DTH TV business is capital intensive if you borrow money from our banks to do this business am not sure if you will get far ask the likes of ATTN, Trend, MyTV, Daarsat etc how they're coping. Toyin Subair in a bid to hold on to his exclusivity had running battles with viewing centres, hotels, hospitals and other smaller players who wanted to be part of the show same thing he accused DSTV of doing we can all see the result now.I also strongly believe that he paid too much to un-seat DSTV 3 years ago. Ask Setanta, they paid too much for the EPL and today they are dead and buried. The thing is Toyin Subair with the same influence and manner he un-seated DSTV shouldn't have gone for a winner takes all approach 3 years ago. He should have tried to negotiate something where everyone gains something. He absolutely forgot that DSTV had much money than he can ever muster plus even if they have to borrow, certainly not from Nigeria where rates are between 21% to 25%. Now that the cash cow is gone Toyin Subair needs to go back to the drawing board and act fast, it is sure that majority of his subscriber will surely abandon ship and GT Bank will come calling. DSTV is reaping from what they have sown you do not walk before you start crawling. LEARN

Posapoka -------I have a good job and I live well but I know millions of Nigerians are living in poverty just like our brothers and sisters all over Africa may be you should travel out of this country (not anywhere in Africa) especially Europe and America then you will know what am talking about. We are merely existing just like the desktop or laptop you replied me with we are not living like humans should live you can delude yourself its common around here - self denial I don't blame you+

As for me when I look back and even project into the future of this country I am ashamed to be called a Nigerian, if I come back to this world again I'd rather be a white man in America or UK because everywhere you look in Africa where there is one form of natural resource or the other there is poverty have you guys thought about it and its all about greed from Liberia to Sierra Leone, Congo Zaire, Congo Brazzaville, Guinea, Gabon, CAR, Cameroun, etc

I'D RATHER BE A WHITE MAN IF I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY OF COMING BACK TO THIS WORLD AGAIN

In addition most of the editors and deputy editors of prominent and less know newspapers are on the payroll of banks, corporate organisations and politicians they always collect money to kill stories that should ordinarily be published
Politics / Re: How Ribadu Plotted To Sack Yar’adua, Says Ibori by jimuchy: 3:21pm On Sep 29, 2009
For the media houses if nairalanders do not know i will tell you all news you read in the newspapers from THisday to Guardian, Punch, Sun, Vanguard etc are all paid for all the journalist you see around 80% of them are thieves taking bribes before they publish. The only genuine news not driven by money is when a prominent person dies or a general story all newspaper cannot afford not to write about IF na lie make any journalist tell me say na lie I talk make thunder strike am down now

My brothers in Nigeria there is no smoke without fire if the custom boss knows that he has original certificate let him call a press conference give copies of these certificates to press men and let them go and verify very simple

Sitting down and saying it is a lie or they want to tarnish his image will not help him

And as we know most of our leaders are thieves so onus is on him to prove otherwise

Who says there was no problem with the 5 banks, if u were an insider you would know there were issues, a bank that continues to take money from the interbank market or the expanded discount window consistently is definitely ailing

The committee chairman on banking in the house of reps read his speech from a paper bearing the letter head of Rockson Engineering yesterday. Rockson Engineering owes Intercontinental over 30billion need i say more
