aodis: Hey spyder!Hi aodis, where exactly in Delta state is the land located, what is the size and price of the said land. |
fnk: Just checking if this works, This is a picture of my poultry construction.Nice one fnk, is the location of your poultry farm out of residential area and do you have to get planning permission specially saying you can construct a poultry. The reason i am asking this is i recently acquired a land outside the town to build a poultry on but recently a lot of people have been buying land around me and building residential houses which may cause problem later on. My poultry isnt on a large scale yet hoping for like 1000 birds but land are just so scare that even if i buy a land in the sea or evil forest in no time people will start buying and building residential houses there and there are no land specifically allocated for farm building. Any thought or advise fromthe house? |
I am late to class, Emperor please mark my name for the register please. PRESENT SIR. |

jamp: It depends on ur location. For those of us in d north brown is better cos of the weather. The sun is much in d north. Black absorbs heat unlike the brownThanks jamp for the explanation. I am in delta state So I guess the isa brown wont be the best for me to stock then |

Hello House, i was wondering if anyone knows a rough estimate of the cost of constructing the metal scalfolding struction used for the borehole tank ie where the borehole tank is kept. I really dont know what its called but i hope i have been able to explain myself a bit lol |
Revolva: ah dem don take am do blood money ,oyedepo keep gettin richer and members brokeJust to inform you that the child has been miraculously found |
lagerwhenindoubt: This is not a religious matter. it is a matter for the courts - The Church should be charge with negligence - It is a similar affair with some daycare centers where kids are doused with sleeping pills so their caretakers can go to sleep all day not aware of any dubious activity around the sleeping children. there was a case of one where the child supposedly fell into a well and drowned amidst suspicions that it was a kidnap plot gone sour. The child has been found!!! |
I dont have a problem with banning of Okadas, what i have a problem with is the way they go about it. You dont ban Okada, make thousand s of people unemployed and then promise to absorb them. Its patronising, treating people like idiots and i think its the wrong way round. What he should have done in my opinion is give an announcement to the okada riders telling them that due to " problems" being caused by okada, whatever the problem is; that the state government have decided that Okada will be banned in the next 2 or 5 years, but that before that 5 years time all unmotorable roads will be fixed and all legitimate registered okada riders who have been paying their tax or levy to the state government will be reskilled, retrained and provided with alternative employement and at the end of the 5 years those who could not be absorbed will be given a start up capital to enable them start some form of business or agricultural venture. With a timetable like this, the government is then force to try as much as they can to meet their promise within the timetable of 5 years. There must be educated people in the government to be able to come out with something like this or a better alternative instead of an outright and immediate ban irrespective of the problem being posed by okadas, you should as well provide an immediate alternative otherwise your irresponsible action will be tantamount to giving a BIG go ahead for the displaced okadas riders to engage in illegal activities that could cause more menance to the state than the initial problem being caused by the okadas. Margaret Thatcher made the same mistake in England with the coal miners, taking away coal miners jobs without providing an alternative employment or re skilling or retraining and even in her death posterity has not forgiven her. So thats my little take on this matter |
fnk: I am getting ready to start my own journey into this venture, fenced out the land in the Lekki area, got the design for the living quarters of the attendance and an office space. waiting for the design of the poultry building it's self in the next week or two, and then I will have pix to post, if I know how. I will keep journal to share here when things start moving, I think it is going to be fun and exciting. Will keep ya'll posted.@ fnk,Weldone and i know everyone on this thread are looking forward to you starting and wishing you all the best in your venture. Especially to see your special formulae put into practice, i have got a couple of questions to ask you though if you dont mind. 1. How many birds are you looking to stock 2 what is the size of the land you have emarked for the PEN and how many sq per bird. Will you be operating deep litter or battery caged We all look forward to pictorial updates and once again this thread appears to be about to come alive once more with exciting pictorial updates and learning. We wish you all the best!!! |
mufutau55: Oga Spyder.. OK I think I see coconut.. what is the other one that look like grapes or bird eggs?I think the other stuff is some kind of local pear, in my place ( Delta State)we call it "orumu" we use it to eat corn on cob, you can also use coconut too. So Oga spyder if i am right whetre is the corn?? we need the corn to complete the food o! |
Hi Mufutau, wow what can i say, the plastering work is immaculate, very well done. The local boys in my area refuse to let me use imported labour, they say they have to be the ones to do it, in fact i just tire for the way things are being done in that Nigeria. Your own project you are not even allowed to do it the way you want it. I was almost going to just abandon the whole thing self and just relax my own, mind you this is just an MQ and they are giving me wahala like this. As for the floor plan stuff, it appears they did not follow the plan to the letter as they had to be doing changes as they go along so the nfloor plan wont be an accurate representation of the actual building. I had to go and study my metre and mili meter and square meter and it paid off, by the time i revised finish i was able to calculate myself how many tiles i need to tile the whole place and also during my findings i discovered that you dont need to use the same type of tiles for the sitting room and the bedroom. The sitting room and entrance could be expensive ones but the rooms could beslighly cheaper, even the tile for the kitchen and bathroom are very diffent tiles etc. Myn cost has been reduced to half. Oga spyder, i nor see your break light in this matter,oh well, i guess you are not much into finishing that much then.. its well. |
@ spyder, prince_onx and the house, once again i come to the house for help. I am about to do the floor tile of my MQ but have been quoted an amount that seem to be the most expensive so far in my quest to complete this MQ. i was quoted N260,000 for the tiles ie 100 cartons at 2600 each and N40,000 for workmanship and 22 bags of cement at N38500 which equate to N338,500 and yes apart from the land thats the most expensive so far. What i really need to find out are What is the cheapest fairly good quality tile i can get Is the quantity ihave been quoted right? This is the dimension of the MQ parlor- 12 x 13 room 1 - 16 x 10 room 2 - 13 x 10 bathroom/toilet 5 x 4- wall 9ft kitchen 15 x 5 varanda 16 x 5ft wall, 2 step internal passage 4 x 4: wall 2

@Spyder, i hail o, this roof is looking really cool. This stone coated roof is really nice if one has the money. Will hopefully consider it when am building my main building. Nice work though, keep setting the pace we will be following gradually from behind. |
Correct me if i am wrong, in the 80s when Buhari and IBB and the rest were in power and i was in primary school, during our assembly and inter house sport we were told that we the kids of today are the leaders of tommorow. Now all these years have past and still the leaders of yesterday seems to still be and want to be the leaders of today and tommorow and the future. haha I no understand all these o!!!!!!!!! |
My cost of plastering Expected plastering work: 1. 20 bags of cements @ N1,750x20=N35,000 2. Brick layer (N2,000 per partitionx33)=N66,000 3. Helper N2,000x7=N14,000 4. One tipper of mud sand=N13,000 5. Emergency fund(which include water tank, fuel, etc=N5,000 Total=N133,000 The helper gets paid 2000N per day and the bricklayer estimated 7 days for the work which equates to 7 partition per day but i have told him to take it easy no rush cos Oga spyder say the average is 4 per day, so the guy don mellow now he is doing 4-5 per day. Those doors are metal doors to keep the place secure a little bit so we can keep material on site overnight, we are repainting them cream cos those colour are hideous lol. pic of one of the protector for the window attached
|
So thats where we are at right now, bought all the window frames today, will fit them first and later on we will put the aluminium sliding window. I want to thank the house for their encouragement so far, especially oga Spyder and prince onx its a small project but spyder say he nor matter make i call am my castle for now thats why he named it MENS' QUARTER, God will provide fund for bigger and better building later. |

Hello house, some pictorial updates from my MENS' QUARTER

coputa: @jites..i was not actually refering to you..your post was a complete diagram of the happenings in our country...your explicit reportoire of exploits of Nigerian politicians nay Ibori was an eye opener...your analysis were not laced with any ethnic colouration....i enjoyed your post.....it was @ kingoflag i posted my reply....,he posted something nauseating in this thread....@ Coputa, Thanks for your reply, i am very relieve to hear that, i had assumed you were rfering to me because your post came immediately after mine and you didn't include the post from Kingoflag in your comment. I have read Kingoflag's post and like you i completely disagree with him refering to the average Nigerian as being mentally unstable.. very wrong, totally wrong of him to have that generalisation of the average Nigerian irrespective of where they live or were born. I am sorry i went on and on at you including almost giving my life history lol, when all the while you weren't refering to me.. I apologise. (hand shake) |

coputa: How would the Niger Delta have nice things except "MEND"and environmental degradation which are consequecies of oil exploration and exploitation....how many Niger Deltans has oil blocks in nigeria,.they sow much and reap less as a result of collective conspiracy against them......the resource control protagonist (chief onanefe ibori ) is a living example...people like IBB,OBJ,ATIKU.....who stole the cnuntry blind are still honoured internationally (the united Kingdom inclusive) for mortgaging their country's interest.,these elements has business interests in these countries set up from stolen funds meant for the devlopment of Nigeria....but these imperialist always looj the other way...Can somebody help me to understand something here please, and before anyone accuse me or slang me i wish to state categorically that i do not condone any form of looting or stealing of national resources. I sm from Delta state, infact to be precise Oghara. i am in my mid 30s and lived and grew up in oghara. Now when i was growing up in oghara we had just one narrow road leading into oghara and and also out of it. But when Ibori became Governor he did some things in oghara that i am confused about and honestly dont know what to think. Let me just name a few Oghara now have numerous roads, so you can come into Oghara one way and leave using different roads, He built a polytechnic, a massive stadium, a university is underway Western University, Solar powered light, round about, Teaching hospital just to mention a few. Infact it feels like i am living in heaven but what i need help to understand is this, should i be bitter and angry with Ibori?? or should i be grateful that what would never have happened in my lifetime all became possible while i am still in my mid 30s. What money did he use to do all these things, if it is possible to do things like this why is it not done in every state in the country, or did he do the same in asaba, warri, and the other little villages too if not why noT.. especially if it is possible, what would i have prefered, someone like uduaghan for instance that is not stealing money ( i say this lightly cos i really dont know if he steal money or not) what i mean is having some "normal" governor who just does the bare minimum or having someone who "steal" but also execute some massive changes for the benefit of the masses, in fact i really dont know, but what i do know is that i like relative constant power supply, i like stadium, i like university and polytechnic, i like employment for youths.. all these things i like, is it possible to do them with state money or does someone has to steal to carry them out, because i really think Nigeria has got the resources to effect positive changes across the board.. from the city to the tinest of villages.. well thats what i think. However, when i heard the amount of money that was stolen from the cofers of Delta state i really didnt know what to make of it.. should i just be grateful for what has been done in my village or be angry that the stealing took place.. i think stealing has been going on for ages before i was even born but i didnt know about it and i was none the wiser.. just thought that this is how it is.. well on second thought seeing what Ibori achieved or did in Oghara opened my eyes to what is possible, i feel like someone who is entitled to one thousand naira but did not know about it and was now given 100 hundred naira which i was not expecting.. ofcourse i would be grateful for the one hundred naira ( stadium, university, roads, jobs etc) because i didn't expect it but if i found out later that i was actually suppose to be entitled to one thousand naira ( all the millions Ibori stole) of course i would be angry... so my fellow nairalanders should i be angry or just be happy my community has been transformed from some dingy dirty village to almost a metropolitan city that can rival any other city in Nigeria. Just to cap this rather long piece i want to also ask why hasn't all the other governors, ministers, councillors, chairmen, ADCs, ex presidents who RAPED our economy and stashed billions away in foreign countries not been treated like IBORI is being treated now ie jailed for long time be it here in Nigeria or abroad, rather they are still in our political parties, even having the guts to want to run for presidents or other government offices. I am going to end with what i started with I DO NOT CONDONE ANY FORM OF STEALING OF NATIONAL RESOURCES. GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!! |
