Romance / Re: Can A Man Love His Woman Dearly And Still Cheat On Her? by jites(m): 12:59am On May 19, 2018
This is a very powerful topic o and everyone will definitely have their differing view on the issue. I have seen a lot of people who love their wives cheat on their wives and it has really trouble me, and yes their wife would usually say " if you love me you wont cheat on me" guys from Tiger wood, ex president of American Bill Clinton, Chris Tarrant, Ashley Cole, John Terry, Wayne Rooney, some Pastors, lots and lots of men- will you say they did not love their wife uhmm I don't know.

I am married but before I got married, I read, studied why men cheat and although I did find out some few things but I was left more confused
Men by nature are polygamous, even if a man is going out with miss world and they go out with their friends they will still be ogling other less attractive girls with bigger backside etc

I went to lots of weddings and one thing stood out, the preachers usually ask "will you love her" they don't ask " are you in love" I wonder why they ask it that way, I think its because being in love is not enough because you have to continuously love then, when their skins is wrinkled, when their hair falls off etc

Another question the preacher ask is, will you love her " forsaking all others" what does that mean? it means they will be "all others tempting you, giving you free sex, they may be prettier than your wife, sexier than your wife, so you have to make a decision to continuously forsake all others.

if you ask a young girl why you love you man, she would say he is tall, handsome, hunky etc but give it 60 years, she would say, he is kind, understanding, caring etc.

Politics / Re: I won't Lose Sleep Over Criticisms Says Buhari by jites(m): 1:29am On Oct 31, 2015
This is my 2 cent contribution to this thread, firstly i am neither PDP nor APC, neither am I an economist but as a layman i think Nigeria was already on a slippery slope before Buhari came into power, ofcourse any politician will promise the world in an attempt to get into power but when they are in power reality sets in. Buhari's main task now i think is to stop the country from going down the drain firstly by stabilising it and then we can talk of improving it, so all the talk of free food, paying allowee and all that, these promises cost money and right now Nigeria can not afford. Was he lying when he made the promise well i can't tell perhaps he made them without an indept understanding of the true state of the country 's finances.
One of the major cause of our present predicament is the over reliance on Oil and now that the oil price has more or less collapsed it is inevitable that our economy may follow suit except we concentrate on other forms of revenue generation. ie Agriculture, manufacturing, services and Foreign direct investment and private sector initiatives
Secondly, I think too many people depend on government and because the government employs quite a lot of the populace any talk of sacking, downgrading, restructuring and whatever glossy term is used to describe it; everybody is shaking, well not everybody but those who mainly rely on the government and to be honest almost everyone is related or know someone who works for the government ie a civil servant because and quite rightly so a lot of people will lose their jobs and when this happens the spending in the economy is reduced=. Thats why in some economy the government tries to stimulate growth/the economy by generating employment through CREDIBLE projects that will employ loads of people and in turn make people earn money and spend money in the economy, they implement monetary policy that is aimed at reducing inflation with the aim of increasing disposable income among other aim, they also implement policies to encourage more private involvement ie corporate tax break, start up loan with zero or little interest etc
Also, the private sector needs to do more, the private sector needs to employs more of the population rather this over reliance on government and also Entrepreneurship need to be given a platform to flourish. There is an economic explanation to all these talk i am trying to explain that why i concur with someone that said we need a finance minister ASAP so that they can start working on economy policies to stimulate the economy.
Let me stop rambling on but Nigeria is like an OLD CAR that needs a little bit of pushing before it can start and only one man( Government) can not usually push an old car to start, the driver would normally solicit for help from passers-by ( private sector, individuals, foreign direct investment, Agriculture, mineral sector etc) so lets all pull together to help push our dear NIGERIA to start again. Lets quit all this blaming game and contribute towards our Nation's development.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA

You are setting a good example for the nation to follow, there must be opposition around to hold the ruling party to account on every of their pre election promise, thats how democracy works in the UK, there is no permanent government, every Wednesday we have prime minister question time PMQT where the ruling party is quizzed on the present state of things and their failings are amplified for the electorate to see and take note for the next general election.

Thr first change i want from APC is zero corruption and when that is done we would have enough money for steady electricity, security of life and property, youth employment, affordable healthcare etc and finally make Nigeria con resemble Dubai small. For the record i am not PDP or APC so i am immuned from disappointment but open to good governance. God bless Nigeria, let peace reign! !!

This is my take on this election issue, please excuse the typo as I am using my phone to type this . I am not a politician and the truth I won't be voting cos am in diaspora, but I stand to be corrected by the political gurus here. I am being bombarded daily with campaign from both parties and the content of these campaigns are either Buhari don't have certificate or SSCE or whatever they call it or Jonathan and his cohorts are corrupt. I am yet to see campaign based on proper policies or manifesto rather it's image smearing, intimidation, bribery I see taking place. I live in the UK and at campaign here you here the politicians talk about how they will invest more in the health service, reduce the national debt, invest in education, employment, infrastructure, defence, research etc I lived in Nigeria for about 23 years and in all those years I never saw electricity constant for just one complete day yet Nigeria get billions from oil revenue, see what oil revenue has been used to achieve in a place like Dubai , universities are churning out thousands of graduate every year with no employment prospects, the roads are death traps, countless number of sick people are dying from simple procedures at the hospital, a common ceaseran section you are looking at a 50 50 chance of survival, general hispitals are more like a place where you get sentenced to death, teachers are not being paid for months and months and are expected to keep teaching, universities go on strikes for up to 2 or 3 years sometimes, enough to complete a degree, police are ill equiped to confront criminals and now Boko Haram are ravaging the country at will sometimes overrunning barracks, pensioners not getting paid. The list is endless and all I hear is he has certificate he does not have certificate, he will throw corrupt people in jail, Jonathan is corrupt, this and that,Billions disappeared with no trace, your annual salary plus allowances is 20 million naira in 4 year if you don't spend a penny out of it you should have 80 million naira oh no what do we have with most nigerian politician.. at the end of 4 years they have 90 billion dollars in the states, 200 million pounds in the UK, countless houses in South Africa dubai and Switzerland.... mathematically impossible even with compound interest . Jonathan you have been president for 4 years, did you forget to do something and now need another 4 years, tell us the policies you plan to implement, Buhari you were once head of state too, with almost total power and what did you do, oh I forgot War against indiscipline, you this WAI thing was not a bad idea then but the implementation was inhamanely carried out, citizens were living in fear almost held captive in their own home, barbaric ally implemented.maybe with an SSCE you would have been able to devise a better way to implement it, but no. We had intellectuals, humanist, socialist you could have consulted on the best way to implement it but no treating citizens as animal was your best idea. I WEEP for Nigeria and Nigerian, you are now being given recharge cards, onions and rice to get your vote and mortgage yours and your children future. Which way Nigeria; use your vote to decide your future, hold the aspirant to account, ask to see their policies and manifesto and there should be provision to be able to impeached any politician who does not deliver on their manifesto, challenge the aspirants to go on national TV to debate each other on policies and not mere where is your certificate and it's with babagida or with the army...
With over 200 million people, we have a crop of smart intelligent men and women in Nigeria and yet we are presented with a choice between Buhari and Jonathan both of whom had had their go at ruling this great nation, there must be better options, CHANGE yes that is what i will call CHANGE a new face, new idealogy not same from the past. We are forced to choose between an orange and a mango but the truth is i dont want neither i want a pear. but unfortunately come march an orange or a mango will be forced down my throat.
but hey what do I know, I am not a politician. GOD SAVE NIGERIA

Fhemmmy:

Lovely.... this willl give others a starting point. ... what is the capacity of the pond, how many fishes willl that hold to table size? The 8.5 x 20 will hold how many fish

@ Fhemmmy i think the standard is usually 10 by 10 feet which should be able to raise 1000 to table size, however, i am not too stuck up on calculation and sizes, but by now every serious non greedy farmer should have the awareness of the fact that overstocking is not ideal, i for one i just make sure a pond is not over stock as this can inhibit their growth and freedom.

As you can see from mine its not the usual 10 by 10 but i am aware of what the standard is and able to use that as a yardstick to make sure the fishes have got enough room to swim around, play and grow.
I think it is also worth noting that although we say 10 by 10 should be stock with at least 1000 but by the time you start sorting them into sizes you may end up with less than the 1000 in a pond due to moving some into a separate pond as a result of their new sizes, that's why it is advisable to have spare capacity to cater for things like
sorting
pond leakages and repairs
disease outbreak and quarantine etc
By the grace of God i have capacity for more ponds to be constructed but i need to test the market and make sure expansion is being driven by demand.

Thanks Robonski, i discovered that procrastination can be a dream killer sometimes so decided to take the bull by the horn and start with the little we had. There is no better time to start than now.
I want to state here and now so as not to give people some kind of false representation when i said its better to start now.

Firstly, i have been gathering information about fish farming for a while now to the extent Oga Robonski tire for me and kept asking me " when are you starting when are you starting? lol you can ask him so please dont just jump into fish farming without getting the necessary training- both theory and practical.
Following on from the training stuff, my business partner before we started attended a catfish training organised by Oga Robonski in Lagos, Mickyfish also visited our land to give us some advice on how to proceed and also my business partner also went to Songhai in Benin republic to see and learn a few things also.
I have said all these because someone stated and quite rightly that some farmer dont tell the truth and if i am asked any question i will provide truthful answers
Okay back to the original question i was asked by Oga Robonski and Fhemmy the Novice with regards to the dimension and cost, the best thing is to post the cost estimate i was given by the builders exactly but take note of the cememt price cost at the time was 1700 but they used 1800 for the estimate just incase it went up a little during construction so please factor that in.
Also we did german floor and concrete pillars as Robonski had already pointed out.

Estimated size
34 feet by 20 feet (four ponds in one). Each pond is 20feet by 8. 5 feet.
Blocks (6 inches)
Four coaches to make each pond. Total number of blocks will be 396.
Estimated materials
 13 bags of cement for one tipper of sharp sand. 13bags x N1,800(plus transport)=N23,000. 30 blocks from one bag of cement.
 Two tippers of sand N17,000 x 2=N34,000
 Workmanship for molding of 390 blocks x N30 = N11,700
 Rod 10 x N1,100=N11,000
 Rod workmanship N5,000
 Granite (one pick up) N17,000 plus 4 bags of cement for casting of pillars
 8 bags of cement for plaster N14,400 plus 16 water seal N500 x 16 = N8,000
 396 x N10 for blocks setting N3,960 plus helper N2,000
 9 bags of cement for setting of blocks (This could be less than)
 4 board of wood @ N1,200x4=N4,800
 Nails (4 inches and 3 inches) = N400
 Wood union=N500
 Carrying of wood=N500
 Carpenter workmanship=N3,000
 Pouring of German floor, 2 work men @N6,000 plus helper @ N2,000=N8,000
 10 bags of cement for German floor x N1,800=N18,000
 Plumbing estimate N20,000
Total estimate=N198,000

Note: The price of bag of cement is currently N1,700 at the time of this estimate but I just estimated N1,800.

Fhemmmy:

Oga Jites, was this the one in the earthen or in the brick ponds? Mail me your contact again, i lost phone and gone with it and i am hardly oon facebook

Thanks guys,
@ Fhemmmy these are from the concrete pond, i dont have earthen pond yet but like i said in my earlier post i am hoping to contruct a little one next year for the cultivation of broodstock

@ Belexy, i agree with you, but presently i dont know much about formulating local feeds and to be honest the comparative cost advantage will need to really be much for me to consider adding local, cos if i consider all the wahala of trying to source the various ingredient with constant fluntuation of price and scarcity of some of the ingredient it just sometimes discourage someone, and when you want to run a smooth operation with consistency the last thing you need is the unavailabilty of some key vital ingredient. even maggot that is almost free the wahala of that one sef no be small thing, how many fowl shiiiiit i go carry and store to become maggot for me to feed between 2000 to 5000 ( assuming thats someone stocking level) on a consistent basis agreed it could act as a supplement.

@ Komakan, thanks, i agree with you but anyone who is lying is only deceiving themselves, so far majority of the farmer here have been honest, posting but their success and failures, if you like go and take a photograph of a shark and put it here to say your fingerlings don grow reach shark size in 2 months, we will just be laughing at you lol but on a serious note its needless to falsify stuff cos no one know you face to face so its your business.
i for one i have spoken to a few people i have met on this thread and this website ie Robonski, Fhemmmy alias the novice and these guys are men of integrity.

On a final note, we are currently negotiating a supply deal with an eatery, they want us to be supplying them between 70 to 100kg every two weeks, the gurus in the house what will be the frequency of stocking to be able to cater for these kind demand and is it feasible, the price they are offering seems reasonable at 500 naira per kg. i will also ask this question in the question and answer section on agricnetwork.

i salute the house

Some of the 30 fishes I separated for use as broodstock are showing good prospect. On weighing them yesterday we had 1.8 kg, 1.5 kg and 1kg and they completed 4 months yesterday. This is really surprising.. about 5 of them weight 1.8 kg we were experimenting with floating food only.. coppen and i can now confirm that it is almost possible to have more than 1 kg fish between 4 to 5 months without local feeds.

@ Juve.. wow, weldone these are really very big fishes o, how much do they weigh. I guess these are Hetero, what sort of market segment will one be targeting with such massive sized fishes cos apparently market women don't usually go for large ones ie 2kg upwards cos they find it difficult to sale, dont really know how true this is. But i know this is not the first time you have had such bumper harvest so you must have an outlet for marketing them. I would very much like to stock these Hetero someday but i have to be realistic and rely on demand led supply.
Once again weldone, i will pop over now to Agricnetwork now to see if you gave further elaboration there.
Have a gra8 weekend everyone!

Congratulations. Am happy for your breakthrough. You were able to achieve this feat because you were changing the water regularly, so keep it up.

Depending on your location, you might find it difficult to sell a fish of 2kg and above to those fish seller because they make their money from quantity sale not weight; except you have contact with eateries, hotel especially if you are in South South and its environs.

Thanks TO A 17, they are not 2 kg each o.. its the weight of the 3 of them combined. I don't intend to get them to 2 kg each..at least between 800g to 1 kg each ... I am in Delta state. Have a restaurant contact presently but will still see to market women even individuals especially those that live close to my farm; as a form of goodwill... maybe on a certain day only for private individual purchases ie. "Fish Fridays" for neighbours only to buy

Fhemmmy:

So proud of you.

Thanks Oh Fhemmmy someone has to try and put all this theory into practice.. special thanks to Robinski..I dey trouble the man on whatsapp whenever I notice any casala o. I started with just 30 then decided that I will just keep growing the 30 into broodstock for future hatching exercise.. so Mickfish be on standby o cos I like one hatchery photo you put up one time but I cannot locate it again so i will need your assistance with the construction of a little compact hatchery next year. Presently I stocked 1200 for trial and so far God has been faithful and everything is going according to plan. A little challenge is the 3 days changing of water.. I think it's a kind of waste with no proper drainage system. So I decided to plant some plantains as they use water a lot and then planted some other crops. Next year I intend to by God's grace construct a little earthen pond close by which will mainly be for broodstock growing and some of the water from the concrete pond will be going there.
We have formed a cooperative in our location as there was none and registered it.. more than 20 members now of different aspects from hatchery specialist to grow out guys.
We would endeavour to regulate the price by kilo and take the mono poly from the market women.. We will try a d work with them so everyone is a winner
Members are shareholders buying shares and in turn the pool of fund will be available as credit facility for members and later none members with collateral. Profit distributed by ratio of shares owned
Make the cooperative a platform to get government agricultural grants and assistance.
In the long run hatching, drying and packaging is on the agenda cos one has to try and maximise return with less effort by his Grace. Shalom all

Welldone Sir, this remind me of Oga Spyder in the property section. step by step instructions. So House, lets start seeing more pictures, if you harvested your fish and they are like 1.5-2.5 kg come on put some pictures up and a little talk on how you went about achieving it. Pictures speak louder than words, a fruitful year to everyone.

lizu: its okay...if thats the way you see it..." its a wrong opinion".. thats why its called a forum, we argue, critisize, settle, learn and all sorts...no hard feelings..cheers

I greet the house, i normally dont get involve in these sort of issue but on this case Please Oga Robonski and the house let accept Oga Lizu apology please, i will also personally watapps Oga Robonski to please accept the apology. Like someone mentioned earlier this is a forum and its for sharing information not for castigating contributors and just because someone is not doing it the way you are doing it does not mean they are wrong.
So if you tried something and it worked, i mean not just once, if you tried it and it has continued to work then feel free to share your method here freely if you like. In the developed world when they discover a cure for something it can take up to 5 to 10 years before it is available to the general public because they have to be sure its working on a consistent basis- thats why everytime you buy paracetamol its the same formula and fomulated to produce the same result- in summary its call tried and tested.
On this note can i suggest something we start putting up pictorial evidence, both negetive and positive, for instance if you notice your fish is turning whitish, post a photograph of a sample so we can all see exactly what you are talking about and hopefully you would also benefit from targeted advice- someone will see it and say OH! this happened to my fish last year or 6 month ago and i did this and this and within 2 days it solved the problem. Next time someone post something similar we can say it look excatly like what was posted in page 40 so try what was done in page 40 and hopefully you would get the same result, same thing if you tried a formula and most of your fishes achieved 2-2.5kg weight dont just say it, put up a picture and detailed exactly what you did DIFFERENTLY to attain the result. We saw photographs of Oga Robonski consulting in some farm and also posted photograph of an extremely big fish that was as a result of not sorting.
Its just a suggestion, i dont have a farm but when i start, from the building of the pond to the first juvenile i intend to post photographs if the house dont mind so i can be corrected, adviced on anything that is being shown.
Wishing the house a merry christmas and a bountiful and fruitful 2014.

Mr jites said he is gonna send it from the UK for 30k, which is way more cheaper than what we buy here...

If you are interested in buying the bio disc, simply pay the money to Mr Robonski and i will DHL them to him and you can collect yours from him, if you dont live in Lagos let him know and please supply your forwarding address so i can DHL yours seperately (which might cost a bit more) or i can still DHL it to Mr Robonski and he can forward it to you.
I would required at least a minimum of 5 interested farmers for me to place the order, i am not a regular contributor on this thread for obvious reason- i dont know anything about catfish lol, i am ofcourse looking to gain knowlegde and start up my own farm at some point. Thats why i want us to use the owner of the thread Mr Robonski as the contact point and distributor. As you may or may not have gathered i reside in the UK and also i am not a trader ie i dont sell stuff on Nairaland- you can look through my thread.
If i am able to source the disc at a lesser price than 30K everyone will get a refund of the extra, me personally i think it is worth a try for 30k or possibly less anything that has the potential of increasing the quality and health of the fishes is worth a try. Thats is the difference between the developed world an the developing world- over here they keep researching for effective and more efficient way of producing item but in the developing world we seem stick to what our forefathers handed down to us.
Anyway thats enough said i am begining to sound like a seller now lol, wishing all farmer a merry Xmas and a FRUITFUL year ahead. Shalom

I intend to use both the old and tried methods and also the new and latest technology, there is a saying that if you keep doing what you are doing with no change you will keep getting the same results, likewise if you keep doing what you have always done and expect a different result you are only kidding yourself.
Now, i rarely post stuff on nairaland but while researching and reading through robonski posts i came across the muchh talked about BIO DISC, now a lot of fish farmer are still skeptical about its effects but like i say i am not a fish farmer yet but i have studied the BIO DISC and discovered that it has a far reaching advantage to a wider spectrum. For instance, here in England its been used in the medical area, folks here run their drinking water through it and the water is turned into some powerful healthy water, it prevented FLU (some kind of cold in the UK) and you wont believe this just putting a glass of water on the disc is enough to harness its benefits ie thats with no contact with the water at all.
I have seen ZERO mortality in fries when used in fishing and enhanced health of the fishes, it only make sense that if it can make human super healthy and fit it can also do the same for the fishes.
Now, i saw somewhere here that it cost like 60k but while researching it i discovered that i can source it for a fraction of that price here in England thats the main reason i am writing this piece. If a lot of farmers are interested in buying it iam able to buy them here in England for 30k and depending on the numbers of farmers that want one the cost can be reduced further. I think 30k or less is a worthwhile investment in your farm as a fish farmer, This BIO DISC is being used in the developed world to produced strong healthy big fishes all things being equal ie all proper management is adhered to like good pond management, good feed etc cos if you dont change your water, or feed the fishes well it doesnt matter how many BIO DISC you use your fishes are likely to suffer ill health.
What i am proposing if i used our combine bargaining power to make the BIO disc available to everyone who dont have one at the moment, if you have numerous ponds you can buy a couple or more but please note i am not buying them for anyone to resale, i am not a business man selling stuff, you can check all my post i dont sell stuff.
If you live in Lagos, i am happy to send the BIO Disc to Robonski's for you to go pick up ( Robonski Sorry i am dropping your name in here as i have not discussed this with you before now) but your integrity speaks for you. if you live anywhere else in Nigeria i will have to send it to you through DHL which will cost more but should not be more than 40k otherwise its not worth it cos DHL from England is like 10k.
So thats it, lets try something new and see what the result is and please please please do read about the uses and benefit of BIO DISC before buying, you need to work from a position of knowledge.
Hopefully, if a lot of people are interested with effective demand we can source it for an even lower price. I wish everyone well.

Hi Robonski,
Good morning and thanks for replying to my whatapps, i know you probably gets lots of whatapps messages from lots of people and wont really know what one is mine. I was the one enquiring about your training and the training in Songhai and my number ends with 755. I an not in town but i hope to call you to be able to get more advice from you. I must say you guys do a great work in giving out life changing advice to others and to be honest if you produce a book or a DVD about fishery i will gladly buy them because you have shown that you are not just just internet farmer buta hands on farmer with years of experience in both fish farming failure ( before your trip to Songhai) and success ( your present state)

I am aware you just finished your practical training recently but wanted to know when your next one will be. Thanks
