Seriously sha: Selling the yarn that imported chicken contains ebola is a rather selfish and self-serving postulation. It is EVIL. The source must be investors in local chicken. Their aim is to cause panic and suspicion and force consumers to boycott imported frozen chicken. And its only (and mark the word ONLY) purpose is to drive up sales in the marketing of local chicken, which must be dwindling to the competitiveness from the imported chicken. Nothing wrong with this objective. But why give a dog a bad name to hang it? Let those in the local chicken production-marketing chain take care of the necessities -processing, availability and pricing. Pricing especially o! Nigerians like cheap things pass die!

PDP CLEARS JIMI AGBAJE TO CONTEST GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARIES!
Leading Governorship Aspirant in Lagos State under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Jimi Agbaje, yesterday collected his Clearance Certificate from the party’s Screening Committee in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State.
Agbaje, who faced screening like other aspirants from Lagos State on Sunday, collected on Monday the document confirming him to compete in the PDP primaries.
Speaking yesterday about this positive development to his ambition, Agbaje said in a statement by his Director of Media and Publicity, FELIX OBOAGWINA: “Securing clearance is the least of my problems. I am more concerned about the general elections.”
Agbaje also shrugged off rumours making the rounds since Sunday that he may have been barred by the PDP Screening Committee.
Agbaje retorted: “That I was disqualified or that I failed screening is news to me, although I also got a few people calling me to say that they heard the rumours too. But no problem, I have collected my Clearance Certificate. I have been cleared.”
He said: “The screening exercise began on Saturday. But most of us from Lagos were screened yesterday (Sunday). Today (Monday), the certificate was handed over to us at the PDP Secretariat in Ibadan, which served as venue for the exercise.”
It was learnt that documents that the panel asked the aspirants to present included relevant certificates backing the educational qualifications they claimed, NYSC Discharge Certificate, PDP membership card and voter’s card.

Nigeria: Exclusive - Revealed: the Nigerians Aboard Jet That Smuggled U.S.$9.3 Million Arms Money to South Africa

A private jet that conveyed $9.3 million cash from Nigeria to South Africa for an arms deal between the two countries, had Nigerian crew members, and passengers from Israel and Austria, new documents obtained by PREMIUM TIMES in Johannesburg have shown.
There were three Nigerians aboard the plane, the documents show.
PREMIUM TIMES obtained the manifest of the jet that transported the huge sum, and has confirmed the identities of the passengers and crew who delivered the controversial package.
South Africa seized the money early September, accusing the Nigerian government of violating its laws regulating the transfer of cash.
Another payment by the Nigerian government for arms to combat the extremist Boko Haram sect, was also confiscated. The second transfer, totalling $5.7 million, was wired through the banks.
The South African ambassador to Nigeria was later quoted as saying the money had been returned to Nigeria, a claim that has yet to be verified.
Details of the first transaction, revealed by a South African newspaper, City Press, said an Israeli and two Nigerians were aboard the airplane that transported the sum to Lanseria airport in South Africa.
The first tranche of the money was conveyed to South Africa on September 5 in two plastic bag suitcases and two hand luggage aboard an airplane belonging to Ayo Oritsejafor, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.
While the Nigerian government confirmed the transactions, it denied violating any foreign law. The government also refused to provide the names of those aboard the airplane.
In its report, widely quoted in the Nigerian media, City Press said the Israeli passenger, Eyal Mesika, had the key to the combination lock of the suitcases. The paper also said two Nigerian passengers were aboard the plane. It quoted South African law enforcement officials.
The report however did not reveal the identities of the Nigerians, and South African officials also declined to provide those details to PREMIUM TIMES when contacted from Nigeria by telephone.
PREMIUM TIMES has obtained the flight manifest of the airplane showing the only Nigerians on board the aircraft were crew members.
In an investigation that involved visiting South Africa, PREMIUM TIMES has obtained documents showing details of the transaction, including the flight manifest of the airplane.The listing shows that beside Mr. Mesika, the only Nigerians on board the aircraft were crew members.The other two passengers who conveyed the cash were Austrians, the manifest shows.
The two Austrians are named, R. Wolfgang and M. Michael.
The flight crew members of the Project Eagle Air jet with flight number: N808HE were Ojongbede R.T (captain), Fejoku U, (flight officer) and George E.E (flight attendant).
The listing contradicts reports that the other passengers were Nigerians, a claim that set off an intense controversy after the All Progressives Congress, APC, accused a former militant leader, Dokubo Asari, of being one of those aboard the plane.
The APC relied on unverified reports by some news websites [not PREMIUM TIMES] in making the false claim.
Mr. Asari denied the allegation and threatened legal action against Lai Mohammed, the spokesperson of the APC.
In an interview with PREMIUM TIMES at the time, Mr. Asari threatened to physically assault Mr. Mohammed if he failed to get justice in the courts.
"After all the South Africa People have given the names of people on the plane and if by next week we go to court and the court is being manipulated not to give me justice, I will resort to self-help," he said.
"I have the capacity to resort to self-help. I will not give anybody any apology because if a man has mouth to malign me then I can use what I have to fight for myself."

Just to think that all sorts of names, including ASARI DOKUBO, were being bandied about by the opposition as being on that plane. And many on this and other forums were carried away, bent on poking the GEJ government in the eye, when it said Asari Dokubo or any other Nigerian was not part of the arms merchants! But as the Yoruba elders would say, "If a lie travels for two decades, it will only take the truth two seconds to catch up with it." Now the truth is out with this official foreign (not Nigerian) report. Our mumu don do!

Prof. you had better convert all your hard copy books to ebook.....Students in this 21th century don't have excuse not to read story books or novels, because you can download books like things fall apart - Chinua Achebe for 121KB, half of a yellow sun - Chimamnanda for 341KB, long world to freedom - Nelson Mandela for 512KB etc.....

It is the likes of the Prof. that give students "" instead of "A" because they feel how can a student watch La liga, Premiership, UEFA, hangout with his/her lover at the staff club, visit social media and still do very well in both examinations and continuous assessment.....I call it envy!!!!

You are forgetting that those who discovered and developed the computer and the internet READ books. They learnt all their operating theories from BOOKS written by authors, who were Wole Soyinka equals in science. So the Prof knows what he is talking about. Knowledge is founded upon knowledge -precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little and there a little. Be internet-savvy. Yes. But hit the library too... for the books.
