chrisooblog: Bro PMB failed in the areas you rightly highlighted but as per infrastructure you have to give him his dues even if grudgingly.
3 railway line finished and running except for the Abuja-Kaduna line due to the kidnapped hostages. other railway lines currently being built.
3 Completed airport terminals (Abuja, Lagos and PH) 2 almost finished (Kano and Enugu).
Highways and bridges finished or almost completed (2nd Niger bridge, Ikom bridge linking Cameroon, Lagos-Ibadan express way, Oyo-Ogbomoso, Oworoshoki-Apapa etc).
PPP partnership that's set to deliver a new port in Lekki.
Gas AKK pipeline.
Siemens ongoing electricity project plus new Zungeru power stations.
Not forgetting numerous important legislation like Electoral act, Petroleum Industry act, CAMA, Startup bill.
Even in security where he has been found wanting it's not for lack of weapons. New tanks and APC's for military. New more effective fighter aircraft for NAF, Navy has also gotten new frigates and cruisers which has helped reduce incidents of piracy attacks to zero in H1 2022. Boko Haram though still a threat have been reduced greatly but more still needs to be done.
Unfortunately his mishandling of the economy and lack of tact managing the diverse tribes of the country will tarnish his legacy.
His nonchalance at best or tacit support of fulani militia at worst has been a stand out failure for me. Nigerian doesn't have and also hasn't received any Frigates or Cruisers.... The only Frigate that the NN has is NNS Aradu which isn't active anymore.... What you did get was a couple of OPVs and a LST |

Lurker4Long: I would argue that modern COIN doctrine has been a process of refinement from the French experience with the Algerian War of Independence. The Brits learned from that and adapted it successfully with the Malayan Emergency. SA studied both and adapted to suit local conditions. And some of what we added, like highly mobile mine-protected vehicles, has been taken up by others.
So yes, serious militaries learn from others' experiences and adapt it accordingly. But I wouldn't go so far as to say we invented. I agree however all modern guerilla and coin tactics trace their way back to the South African commandos of the Boer war.... But yes, we have certainly copied tactics from other countries as well |

davefurn: from our famous wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_doctrine
Russia or USSR then had their unique doctrine that was entirely different from the norms, and they produced weapons to suit their doctrine and it worked for them very well. I'm citing wiki as a common source here and I never said your doctrine was bad, neither did I say South Africa didn't create an independent doctrine. All nations have theirs but the soviets' doctrine is vastly different from common norms, so don't use your perspective to judge them because you guys won a bush war fostered by one of its allies. It may not work for you or look archaic to you and nothing worth mentioning but that's them, how many tanks were lost by soviets in Afghanistan or similar weapon losses; at the Soviet way of fighting brings about lots of losses in personnels and equipment but at the end they mostly achieve their goals. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_doctrine#Russia_and_the_Soviet_Union well done!!! I can also qoute wiki........ Also when did I mention Russia?? When did I even once mention Russia? My statement was purely around how I feel doctrine is just as important if not more important than training...... I said nothing about Russia or SA for that matter...... But hey... If the shoe fits |

davefurn: What it drives at the end is thesame doctrine thingy e.g adopt western heavier tank model as the frontline, using of apcs and apv, changing their airforce model of fighting.... All this are impossible, unless you're trying to change them to be someone that they are not. You that are claiming the doctrine working or not, has your doctrine made you super-power and stand toe to toe with the creators of your doctrine before. You are just basically copying someone else own because you have no choice due to you being majorly a consumer and not a producer. Why didn't the so-called doctrine save Europe from being conquered in almost 2 year, lasting days, weeks or even months but the one looked down on and shamed then due to their low quality weapons turned the tides of the war with American land lease weapons. Doctrine is just another BS Bru your doctrine is based of past experiences and objectives.....wtf are you talking about our doctrine not making us a super power? What ret@rded argument is that? If you want to have a proper discussion then come with a proper response. Do you even know what doctrine is? And FYI copying doctrine that works is what all militaries do, that's why there are multinational exercises and workshops to learn from allies. FYI our doctrine with regards to guerrilla and Coin warfare is legendary and has been copied by basically the entire world...the SAS(and other SFs) has based its doctrine from the South African commandos.... Even the word commando is South African of origin. Look at the US deployment in Afganistan.... You can even clearly see South African doctrine applied by US troops.... Doctrine which we developed 60 years ago... |

davefurn: Doctrine, lol not everyone can follow your doctrine or the doctrine you feel is correct.... What I will say is to improve on their doctrine, you mustn't necessarily follow other perseceptive Who said anything about following our doctrine? I said doctrine is important, however either your doctrine works or it doesn't. |

NTSA: With the ongoing Army Games in Russia it's evident that battlefield performance is dependent on the quality of training and not the equipment ....I think our Vickers MBT crew would have some of those T72 tank crews for breakfast Personally I feel doctrine is the most important, I mean you can train all you want but if you are training the wrong things/tactics/strategies ect ect then it also counts for nothing. |

rvp2018: Classic prevarication. As long as there are human involved - they will be attempt to rig or game the system. there are rigging attempts in every election on earth, as you said its human nature, However some just have much better systems in place to deal with attempted rigging than others....exmp SA vs Kenya |

rvp2018: So there are no court petition filled alleging rigging? she was caught very swiftly, I never said nobody attempted to rig election here however it is pretty much impossible... Also it is small scale not like in Kenya |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by jl115: 10:33am On Aug 15, 2022 |
rvp2018: Of course - the idea being if it's rigged or a tyranny - lot more people will be incensed and will come out with guns and overpower gov. Trump failed because majority didnt feel - that election had been rigged enough to warrant a response. That is normally the difference btw a democracy and a dictatorship In Kenya rigging happen every election - and so does it South Africa - but if it brazen - I expect Citizen to RISE UP and FIGHT. If number of people incensed as such that they overpower gov (like in my scenario) then gov is overthrows in a revolution Like happens in many countries..for example in middle east...where gun ownership is high...during spring revolution...citizen shoot and overthrow govs. wrong, no rigging takes place here, we have one of the most free and fair elections in the world, not to mention Africa. |

rvp2018: Dont just argue for it's sake. US's 2nd amendment given citizen rights to rebel and fight an illegitimate gov. "The importance of the second amendment is the ability to rebel against a tyrannical government. It also gives citizens the right to protect themselves, without restrictions from the government. The Second Amendment also allows us to protect ourselves from foreign and domestic attacks, if the government won't." Yes a Tyrannical Government.... Not one that was elected but you don't like it |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by jl115: 8:14am On Aug 15, 2022 |
rvp2022: To get to leadership in a country like kenya you need to be corrupt (commercialized politics - in some countries it violence) and sometimes even murder people. Mandela was trying Mahtma Gadhia non-violence but you meet with violence - and eventually he had to kill many of you people. You locked him up - saying he was violent terrorist. Great presidents like Kagame or old Museveni or Meles Zenawi killed people. Ruto without money wont have a chance in kenya corrupt politics - and sometimes you murder a few people who want to murder you because it's high stake games here.
Now you cannot say because Meles Zenawi was corrupt or killed many he wasnt a great president. Pinochet was corrupt but he made chile the only developed country - apart from Argentina. Indonesia Suharto did the same. China is dictatorship but they are going to first world. Ghana military rule Rawling killed people but fixed Ghana. Thomas Sankara killed people but fixed Burkina Faso.
Ruto will transform Kenya because he is brilliant, he is passionate, he is hardworking and he is effective leader. He get stuff DONE.
Now you can moralize all day in a church but as leader - corruption/killing people - is part of TOR. That is why they are commanders in chiefs. this is why Kenya will forever be backwards and behind SA |

rvp2018: That still make it even best model. Civil war should occur if anyone commit coup on the people. That is why American have the right to hold fire-arms. American call it 2nd ammendent. Americans have the right to defend themselves from gov militia or fight it if there is legitimate cause - that is why some Trumpster stormed DC with guns. Our people it's 1st ammendment - you rig us - we kill you. Why is kenya a model - unlike South Africa - that got democracy in 1994 - kenya has held election since 1963. Kenya became 1st country in Africa to have sitting president election annualled. Kenya is functioning democracy - that is envy of many in Africa. my bru, the 2nd amendment isn't there for people to start a civil wars.....i guarantee that Biden didn't win the 2020 election fairly and yet there is no civil war in the US. You on the other hand just speculate that if Ruto lost then it must by rigging and thus there must be civil war. Also SA had democratic elections before 94 as well.... It just didn't include certain people Lastly of you look at African countries who are the most free and the most democratic then SA leads, only the likes of Mauritius and Botswana compete with SA in that regard |

obaaderemi: You should have known this with the Kenyatta political machinery behind Raila coupled with the fact that the Odinga family itself is prominent in Kenyan political space. But I still find it hard to believe that Kenyans would pick an old tired grandpa over a young thoroughbred who understands modern times. But then they say Ruto is very corrupt. He should have toned it down a bit. he is corrupt and a murderer..... However Odinga isn't better as well.... So either way Kenya is still fvcked I just want to see who deletes their accounts first... Rvp2022 or Shma2022 |
