This is brilliant! Storyline seems to be properly executed and the excerpt is well-written. The whole package works for me. Just watch-out for over-usage of the ly-adverbs. Other than that, it is a very beautiful piece. On-point descriptions, voice, pacing, and sentence length. Good job! Joan |

There are numerous types of wastes depending on the Industrial sector you're targeting. Ie. Agriculture, Food, Chemical, Mechanical, Automobile, Computers, etc, etc, etc, Try googling 'Industrial Waste Management' and see what comes up. Or do a specific search on a particular industry like "Food Industrial Waste Management". That should be the easiest to write on cos there are tons of information from the EPA, USDA, and FDA concerning Food Industries and their Waste Management Systems. This is just a pointer! Good Luck! |

Hold in the hearts dreamOf course it's Hindi with some Urdu mixed in. I've translated part of it, but some of it doesn't make complete sense cos of the Urdu mixed in. To me, it just feels like trying to translate English mixed with some pidgin ![]() I couldn't do the whole thing. The poem is too long. |
Margolin is an engaging writer. It's a wonder Grisham's books made it to fame and his didn't it. I guess it's a stroke of the elusive but desirable thing called 'luck'. Glad you've also discovered Margolin. Enjoy! |
Interested parties based in Nigeria, please contact me joan.peck@bernardbooks.com Those based abroad, please contact the publishing office directly http://bernardbooks.com Thanks. Joan Peck |
My sincere apologies to Smart$boy, whose thread has been hijacked and his original purpose transformed into something quite unrelated. Please forgive us. We're all looking for a slice of that finite pie. ![]() |
Ccomputers:Dear Ccomputers (Carlos Ventures), It is not good work ethics to castigate people and their business anywhere, especially on public forums. The personal side you show in public tends to rub-off on your business as well. I have not attacked you or your business, your website, or what you do on Ebay or anywhere else. Actually, if you scroll down, and view my posts to you on this thread, you'd see that I am one of the most supportive of you (with all due respect). I do not believe in putting others down to make myself (or the publishing company I work for) look good. I am a firm believer in, "Let your work/business speak for itself." I said I do not need computers. Just like you may not need books. We are in different lines of business and that much at least is expected. Please, no need to get yourself worked up. If people want to be pessimistic and attack you here on this thread, then just ignore them and move on. Continue to market your business to those who are interested, cos, no matter what others say, those who see value in what you do will find you and patronize you. In my case, I work with a book publishing company (I am a book publicist). So unless you are interested in buying a contract/consignment of novels, for re-sale in Nigeria, then I don't see how our paths will be likely to cross. At this point, the company I work with (based in Ohio, USA) does not need computer hardware. If in the near future, we decide it's time to upgrade our systems, or we come across another book publishing company who is in need of computer hardware, then, at that time, we may consider recommending Carlos Ventures. But for right now, it is not in our platform. BTW, since you are based in Eastern Nigeria, do you know of any bookstore owner, wholesalers, distributors, or retailers that may be interested in carrying book consignments/direct orders from us at publishers price? It's okay if they're based in Onitsha, Enugu, Aba, Nsukka, Umuahia, Awka, Nnewi, Owerri, etc. Thanks. Joan Peck (Book publicist) Bernard Books Publishing joan.peck@bernardbooks.com http://bernardbooks.com |
dearstan:Thanks for the warning and concern, Dearstan. But my company only works with people in the book business. We are based in the US and don't need computer hardware from Carlos computers. What is Dell, IBM, HP, Apple, etc, there for? BTW, do you know of any authentic book distributors, store owners, wholesalers, and retailers that are based in Nigeria and would be interested in contracting whole-sale books at publisher price? Thanks Joan |
We will be catering to book wholesalers, bookstore owners, distributors and retailers from July through December. If you're based in Nigeria, contact me. If based abroad contact the publishing office directly. Thanks. Joan |

shotster50: iniguy: Kozzie:Nollywood movies may not be of good quality these days, but the producers, directors, and actors/actresses are not the most to blame. What about piracy? Or 'bandwagonism' like someone mentioned? Look at it this way, for e.g. the movie industry suffers and spends all this money to make a good movie (screen writing, great producing, brilliant actors/actresses, cool effects, wow factors, all the nuts and bolts). At the end of the day, the movie gets cut and produced and is ready for sale. The Nigerian yahoozes get a hold of the movie and makes thousands of copies in very low quality and start selling them at very cheap prices (even the same happens with foreign movie like Harry Potter, Twilight, Star Wars, X-men, etc). The masses see the low quality version at a cheaper price and buy that one instead. Meanwhile, the actual movie producers do not break even, they are forced to cut their losses and fold. The brilliant actors/actresses do not get paid--they sit and starve. Next time, they turn down the job. So to counteract this, the movie industries jump in the same boat as the Yahoozes. Since the Nigerian public will go for the cheapest version of anything, the industry go ahead and produce cheap movies for them, using bad scripts and artists. That way, the industry stays competitive with the Yahoozes and everybody wins! Not the best way to tackle the problem, but that is just how it works in Nigeria. "If you can't beat them, you join them." Right? Based on the above, the movie industry is not interested in investing, or motivated motivated to invest in quality or patented stuff that would help their industry grow like those in the Western countries. We see the same all the time with the book publishing industry. I work with a publishing company, so I should know. Just ask yourselves: "How many times have you opted for cheap pirated stuff over the authentic high-quality, high-priced product?" Now you see where the major problem arises? Now tell me again about "Re-branding Nigeria" ? ![]() |
