phtemie: I think you guys have discussed this and reached a conclusion..But I just want to contribute my own little cents..I just hope it's not belated.

In as much as I believe that inferiority complex is a syndrome affecting many nigerians,I still believe it would be self-deceit if anyone asserts that the whites are not smarter than us..Yes!I said they are smarter..Not subscribing to an idea doesn't confute the reality of the idea..Atheists/agnostics don't believe in the reality of God's existence and religious mysticism, yet that doesn't discredit the reality of God's existence..Synonymously,that we nigerians, africans and blacks in general don't believe the whites are currently smater than Us doesn't refute the credibility of the idea..A Man city fan is likely to tell you they lost to Bayern due to tactical problem or managerial incompetence, but anybody reasoning from a neutral platform would concur with me that if the team had featured two Messis and two Ronaldos or both pep guardiola and mourinho the team would probably have lost the match.

It is only in Africa that a mechanical engineer would take his faulty car to a roadside Mechanic.

Only in Africa a Medical doctor would advise you to take your sick child to a local church instead of a hospital

Most technically advanced gadgets we use were made by the whites..Same thing applies to the cars we use.

Until I see an african syndicate produce a car archetype or an aeroplane prototype, then the idea would remain unrefutable.

Seriously,Nigerians like self-deceit and complacency..I think facing reality is another mental emancipation Nigerians need.
Actions speak louder than words..Let them know they aren't superior through our own actions.

Olastep1: To the guys

The life span of sperm after ejaculation depends on the circumstances.
Sperm ejaculated into a woman’s v**ina can live in a woman’s cervical mucus or upper private part tract for three to five days. Fertilization is possible as long as the sperm remain alive. Sperm ejaculated outside the body might survive in semen — the fluid released during ejaculation — up to a few hours.
Sperm can be preserved for weeks when semen is stored at a lowered temperature — or years when semen is frozen

Their colonial pillars and oppressing tenets hv inundated our psyche, suffice to say, we gv the white much respect. It is just a systematic injustice, which i am absolutely against. God is PERFECT and EVERYTHING HE CREATED IS GOOD. Lets avoid the dangers of a single story by getting ourselves rightly. No contradictions.

Nairalane: Join me in my structural thought. It goes thus. People generally believe that the whitemen are wiser and unquestionably superior to we blacks. But sometimes ,they act meaninglessly and unattached to the dictionary of human behaviours. For example, naming a child woodgate, stone, hazard, blunt, churchill, green, sand. The most annoying is tiger woods. If "woods" is d surname, how can i name my son "tiger". Does this make any sense. Despite this personality-debasing whitemen displays, we ourselves still believe that the whitemen are so superior to us. We blacks consider ourselves as less important. For instance, when papadinho and samtolly park their clothes out yesterday and ready for a wash, they wash d white ones first and then to wash the rugged black ones in parallel channel. So, u too practise racism-superiority of the supercilious whitemen above the black. Maybe its natural, hypothetically stated. But i cannot explain. I believe we blacks are gifted, as created by God. Thank God that salvation was made free, the whitemen would have hijack the whole with their mere-haughty colonising spirit and a sublime piece of mysticism. Thank you for your time.
Whites ain't superior in accordance to my fuckin' mentality jae...
To me ehn, we all are created by lone superior being, the all in all, the visible in invisible, the nothing in something, the something in nothing, the El-OLAM, the Jah Tzidkemu, the alpha and Omega, the beginning from the mid, the mid from the end, the end in the beginning, the beginning in the end etc, he single-handedly created us all out of affection, be it white, black, green, blue, red, pink, weak, strong, ant, dino, lion, cat or whatever. He is more than superior, to my tiny ken, there is no word in this world you could use to verisimilitude God with that would fit if you do know him to that extent.
Okay, biologically, you bang your wife lol, your wife become pregnant abi na, she put to bed gbam for ya a bouncing baby nigga, you, you are one of the sapient in the history, your wisdom or other attitude of yours would genetically be in the attitude of that baby boy of yours but if you give birth to a child and the child doesn't resemble you, your wife, any in your lineage, not even resembling a goat what would you call that child, alien, abami? You'd rather throw it into a lake. God created us all superiorly in his own superior image so that makes us all superior for we are of his exact image but, he gave the things he created grace unequally, the grace he gave the whites from the start of all ages is what make the whites seem more successful than us, the blacks but we are both superior. You don't feed a famished lamb with a lion but remember, they are both mammals but...
Okay, you have an habiliment or lemme say, a white handkerchief and a purely black one and palm oil had littered the seat you wanna sit on, which of the handkerchiefs would you prefer the most, under normalcy, to use to clean the dirt on the seat you wanna sit on? The white? You've gotta be kiddin' me, am sure you are gonna gladly draw out the black one and use it kia while the white one would remain neat. Do you now note the grace in whiteness/holiness, cleansness/purity?
White symbolises sacred and anything sacred had to or must be respected somehow or put first but wait, 'in the beginning, the God created heaven and earth, and earth was without form and void and darkness i.e blackness was upon the face of the deep and God said let there be light i.e white and there was light. In this world, there was first darkness/blackness afore the in-coming of illumination/whiteness but we must respect the white first cos God the first light/white was, before the existence of the world that began with darkness/blackness.
So, not to polix matter, we are both superior cos we are both created by God but the grace given them/whites is stronger than ours, that is the painful fact ore mi... ☺
...and you don't judge God, for He is unquestionable...

JUST TEN THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW AS A WRITER.

*For better or
You’re Talented, But Talented
is Overrated
worse, there is a sense of
competition among writers. This
happens naturally in the writing
workshop environment. But it
also happens long after the MFA
degree is over. Thanks to social
media, we see what other
writers are doing all the time.
Someone, somewhere, is
publishing something new and
wonderful. The writers
achieving success are hard
working. Being the most
talented writer doesn’t
necessarily translate into
publishing success, which really
comes from methodical and
consistent work rather than raw
talent.
*Ignore the Clock. I’ve yet to
meet the writer who was, in
hindsight, happy with her/his
first publication. In the rush to
get things published, in
whatever venue, it’s easy to
forget publishing isn’t the
ultimate goal.
*Publishing your
best work is the goal. Anyone
can publish. No one is waiting
for your next great masterpiece.
You might as well take the time
to make your work the best it
possibly can be.
*Put Down The Phone. One of
the biggest challenges for
writers, a group of people
(broadly) who are more
introverted than most, is being
social. Making it to readings,
talks, and other community
events, is an important step but
you also need to be socially
engaged. Hey, you already left
your home to be out in public
anyway, right? Take a moment
to speak to the writer, the
organizer, the other attendees.
Believe me, this is not easy to
do: I know I really struggle to
say hello and shake hands too.
But these small bits of
engagement and consideration
are not soon forgotten. Save the
texting for another time.
*Don’t Wait To Be Told What (or
When) To Write
. There comes a
point where no one is going to
tell what you should read, what
you should write, and moreover,
no one is going to point this out
for you. Making time to write is
not easy, but until we all get
crowned with Guggenheims, we
all need to carve out a few
hours each week to focus on
our writing. Protect this time
with your life.
*Take Responsibility For Your
Mistakes
. Your writing
workshop or writing group can
only point out the missteps in
your work. The person that
wrote them is you. And any
advice you get on the second or
third or fourth or fourteenth
draft, well, you’re the one who
has to decide what to do with it.
The editor at the publishing
house doesn’t write the
manuscript, you do. If
something doesn’t work in your
writing, that’s on you.
*Throw The Book Across The
Room
. This is not a metaphor.
There are going to be novels or
collections that you read that
have been heaped with praise…
and they are absolutely terrible.
*Do not finish that book. Chances
are high that you will never read
all the books you want to read
in your lifetime, so why finish
the books that you don’t like?
Even worse, what if those books
are truly awful? Look, trust me
on this one: throw that book
across the room. I mean it.
Throw the book. You will feel so
much better. I’m a big believer
in high quality book throwing.
Both the Size and Quality of
*Your Network Matter
. I was
fishing around for a word
besides “network” but I’m only
on my second cup of coffee and,
besides, many of us who write
do so around our full-time job.
So, yeah. In this interconnected
world, our reputation matters.
Magazine editors know which
writers are a pain in the ass. We
all know who the alcoholics and
jerks are, and what they do to
make other people’s lives
miserable. Don’t be that person.
Over the weekend, I was at a
housewarming party and
talking to a new friend about
basketball (naturally). I told him
about my pickup games, and
how I often know very little
about those guys, often only a
first name. But, in other regular
games I played in, there was
more to it. My old Saturday
morning game in St. Louis
would last for two hours, and
then our group, anywhere from
six to twelve of us, would go for
a cup of coffee and talk about
our week. And that’s what I
valued more than the game
itself. And, once we get out of
college, we really have to actively
work to make new friends.
You keep good people in your
life not because they can do
something for you, but because
they are good people:
intelligent, engaging, funny,
loyal, reliable. We need those
people in all facets of our life,
not just our writing world.
*You Need At Least 3
Professional Mentors
. You need
these three not just for letters of
recommendation but also as
guides. “How would X tackle this
problem?” They are our mentors
for a reason, and having them
there, both in reality and in our
imagination, shows us how to
work through problems, both
on the page and on the job.
*Pick an Idol & Act “As If”. You
may not know what to do, but
your professional idol does.
When I’m working on a short
story, and I’m stuck, I often
think “What would Andre Dubus
do here?” Sometimes, Dubus
would have the exact right
approach other times, it’s
obvious that he’s no help. Maybe
it’s Fitzgerald. Maybe it’s O’Connor or your call.. Maybe it’s none of
them. But thinking about the
writing as if you were (fill in the
blank) helps to make me see
that are multiple ways to
approach a story, multiple ways
to make decisions, organize the
manuscript.
Read More Books. Why do you
write? Because you like to read.
Seems obvious, doesn’t it? You
were a reader before you were
a writer. Nonetheless, I’m
sometimes dismayed to hear
how little other writers read.
Don’t be that person. Reading is
a simple reminder of why we do
this in the first place. Grab a
book and sink into your couch
for a few hours. That’s always a
good decision.

I USED TO DIE...
http://www.poetfreak.com/text/249635/i-used-to-die.html

Like last nice night
Right after I was done with my night meal which was sweet
I read this topic called mining in some text
It was defined to being the extraction of
Mineral resources from beneath the solid surface of the earth
I squeezed the definition into my brains
To recollect it whenever it's needed
Yes, it was a success
Afore I went to bed to nap.

I napped but couldn't remember even if my penis works like a tap
My mumsy said I was gibbering like a disc Jockey madly mixing some rap
Music was said to be played closed to my nada ears but wouldn't wake up
To dance to the tone sweet enough to invite some hoped hype
News had it that my new nephew did a hot shite in my new neat glass cup
One if I was not aslept I might guillotine him for, with a sharp rope
But I was down there in my mat, scattered.

I was sleeping but I was dead
For even the I definition of mining seemed faded
But the mo the breath of life was returned
I got up and saw with my ears what had happened
Whilst aslept or should I call it dead?
The truth, no need to keep

I used to die if...
I used to sleep
What can you remember whilst aslept?
You can only remember nothing whilst dead and buried
Liken
So, if people do really sleep
Then people do really die
And if people do really sleep and wake again
That means the the end time is real
Hell fire is real
Resurrection and eternity in the kingdom of God is also real
Too titchy is the pain and mimsy of this dark world
Not to fail to be amid the passengers of the kingdom of God
On board in the end
I know this cos I used to die
And you are reeling this too cos we all used to die.

http://www.poetfreak.com/text/250288/jesus-kill-da-cockroaches.html

They have ruled us with their treacherous rulers
Soaked us in plenty pins amid cactus plants
Interred our fates alive with aught afore-warnings
They'd sent us to go looking for the sepulchre of Moses
Whilst they and their families, relatives sit tight munching our sugars
The governers had killed us all God the father of Jesus
Now Jesus
Kill all these crockroaches
We all need to sight their sick butts
Burried in hell alive for the things
They'd done hence they merit that so Jesus
Kill da cockroaches
Flit their asses with viruses or cataclysms
Kill da cockroaches
Kill da cockroaches
Kill da cockroaches
Jesus is killing da cockroaches.
An airplane loaded of looters crashed yesterday what a sad tidings
Indeed but I think nemesis is doing his works
So Jesus is killing da cockroaches
Kill more of those cockroaches
But who's not a sinner among us?

Title- ONE LITTLE DOVE IN THE HANDS OF FEW AFRICAN CHILDREN...
http://www.poetfreak.com/text/246118/one-little-dove-in-the-hands-of-few-african-children.html

We all are one family
Aye just cos we were confabulated in the image of God
Now like how little children will treat a dying dove
One they came across during there usual playings

A wounded dove would appreciate corn and first aid first
But what do we all know?
Even the aged passers-by are afraid to hurt the orgasm of this few children
Absorbed with playing with a dove that has legions of mates to lead
Now and the morrow

They feed a wounded dove with sands, gutter water and too heavy palts at
Her back as if it were their dollies
I blame the children
I don't blame the children
Is this not the works of naivity or what?
But the aged saw them playing with this wounded dove
But why couldn't they correct them, treat her and let her gain independence?

O God I respect your works honestly!
African governments are helping us to die younger
Beyond your scheduled time for us
Or how should we define all these tell me?

Masses are quite quietly suffering here and there
Never was a true system of meritocracy
Strikes by social groups had covered the faith of us students
Graduated youth are
Dying again and again one by one
Bombings by Boko Haram apart
Even by trying to survive via robberys and now they got shot in the head
Interred of gory with all their glories
But what if they were employed or helped out?

In Nigeria again let me go straight
General election is what those jackasses are getting ready for
It was announced that they'd borrowed more sugar from IMF again
Fools, they said they want to use it to create jobs for youth
Nonesense talks, a beauteous lie in truthful disguise
The sugar is surely ment to rig another election
But youth are dovish yes but we'd grown and are crazily civilised
We won't mind dying to chase all you looters down to your late graves
You-oh you cultus old pigs, pea-brained policy formers.

Yes we were wounded by the grenades you threw in the mid-nights
Now we are hale though yet wounded
For the fate of our posterities alone
We shall fight till you allow this new generation take up the mantle of power.

Hence, we are no more little doves you little old children
Yes we are doves
But implanted in us all are big explosives
Play with our fates again and see your butts scattered
All o'er the streets where you'd sprayed our sure sugar for fun.
Poems For ReviewYoung Writers, Let's Meet Here To Duologue What We Love Doing Which Is... by Jodekss(op):
It's meanly important to share knowledge twixt one another when it comes to writing (amid us youth), none is an highland of knowledge.
It's not important that this thread must be the most visited in the writing section or forum but I would love the little we patter about about writing implant in us all vaster skills compared to that of the western world's or other part of the world's writers...
We can discuss poem, prose, drama or play, we may go out of this genre of literature to quotations, anas or bons mots, speeches, short stories etc, all under one love and nothing more and remember always that none knows everything but sharing knowledge invites meaner wisdom and boundless understanding in all ramification for not even the the likes of Shakespeare, Milton, Soyinka etc, knew/ or know everything...

I am JODEKSS on all social networks and a crazy-young writer...
